Canelo still coasted off the confidence of that 3G win and still looked good, retrospectively the damage hit him double after. Billy was always unproven and Kova was getting KO'd back to back and had a rehydration scheme. Nelo never really did anything after the 2nd 3G fight.Saul truly lost a step starting in Munguia fight
Unable to ko Munguia who would later on get ko’d by an average opponent
Same story with Berlanga
Prime Saul stops at least one of them
looked awful against William
Saul could be washed now he took lotta wear and tear in TBud fight
hopefully he has one last great performance left in him
Saul was in his prime with the 2nd fight but past prime SOMETIME after the 3rd fight
Absolute Peak Saul was when he whooped Billy Joe
Small Floyd TOYED with a Pre-Prime Saul
Big Top Soviet Bivol MOPPED P4P King Prime Saul
TBud whooped a Past Prime Saul

Yes I agree. People are behaving like Terrence Crawford has cleared out the 168 pound division 'he had one fight at 154 pounds, and then one fight at 168 pounds. If you check the career's of Floyd Mayweather Junior, Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya and Roy Jones Junior. They became champions in multiple weight divisions, and then ether took on all comers and dominated or at the very least attempt to. Crawford has not been about that life at 154 and 168 pounds'.
Note: Terrence Crawford was fortunate to land the Canelo Alvarez fight when he did 'great timing, and a solid win on his resume. But the truth is? Canelo Alvarez still has a overall better resume than Terrence Crawford'.
To conclude: Terrence Crawford is a great fighter, and one of the greatest fighters of his generation 'but recently I have received some hostility, when I suggested that for the large majority of his career he has tactically avoided fighting at his more naturally fighting weight'.
The jump up to 168 pounds for Crawford was no big deal 'he was just now fighting closer to his natural fighting weight. And like you said? If he would have done this early in his career, then he maybe would have acquired a better resume and be held in higher regard within the boxing community and beyond' etc.
cutting weight is fascinating
some guys are capable of doing 40 pounds
while others stop at 20
3G messed up Canelo was never the same after. Saul was in his prime with the 2nd fight but past prime SOMETIME after the 3rd fight

Summed it up perfectly. In reality Crawfords career never really took off since the opponents weren't there the rematch against Canelo would have been a good statement because Canelo performed a bit lax and a lot of rounds where just fencing rounds that Crawford was able to chip away marginally. So there was definitely perspective from Canelo's side to approach a rematch. However Crawford career would have been much much better had he been able to clear out 154 and maybe 160 since all those fighters are at their peak early mid 20s/ early 30s.

consider how weak TBud's resume is, yes, Saul is a good name on there, possibly the best name on his resume, but let's not act like Saul wasnt washed up. Same like when Pac beat Oscar, it was a good name, but it wasn't the same Oscar. we’ll see how past prime Saul is in his next fight
Premature to call him washed up after being beat by top 27 all time
Great fighters beat other great fighters
manny had a weight drained oscar
so that Saul was nowhere near as diminished as oscar
so Oscar faces a hittable Floyd that has the power to hurt him
the CIRCUMSTANCES around the win makes it one of the greatest wins in boxing history
Yes Saul was past prime but TBud jumped up two weights to immediately take on the the undisputed champ who was ranked p4p at the time and a lower tier all time great

all time great at 168? he ducked the defining fight he could have had there against benavidez. solid resume there but cherry picking soft opponents to continue winning while the most dangerous guy is avoided has to be heavily weighted against his greatness. No
he's ATG Saul at 168
NOT Saul ATG at 168
all around atg yes
TBud higher level than Oscar
37 year old TBud whooped ATG Saul at 168
31 year old Oscar at 160 needed a gift decision over Felix Strum and was folded by Bernard to the body

Terence is the best of this era's greats
so if his record is lacking, the rest of them are deep fried Top Soviet Bivol Naruto Naoya Cossack Oleksandr Saul
Bud just passes the eye test for me. He' too balanced, coordinated, fast and his punches flow through him. I think Oscar would break through his defenses and rough him up against the ropes. It's 12 rounds and Bud would eventually find his footing then win a close SD.so Oscar faces a hittable Floyd that has the power to hurt him
TBud face washed Saul. Manny fought Oscar at 147, the weight Oscar challenge Manny at. It's not Manny's fault Oscar was washed up, same with Saul. TBud beat a non motivated damaged good Canelo. And this supposed to be TBud's best win buahahah!! Weak resume to say the least. the CIRCUMSTANCES around the win makes it one of the greatest wins in boxing history

I think people were just excited to see Canelo lose again since he hadn't since Bivol. It made Crawford's win that more emphatic. Though I don't want to take to take away from the fact that Crawford basically went up 2 weight divisions to face Canelo. It was a good win.
Manny's win vs Oscar was also good because Manny was training for a bigger and strong Oscar who called him out. The fact that Oscar's training went to hell eating deer meat or something wild isn't Manny's fault. Manny had just competed once at 135lbs and was being called out by Oscar to face him at 147lbs. Sure, Manny looked real good at 135lbs for his one fight demolition of David Diaz, but he had just arrived there. So you can almost imagine he went up 3 divisions to face Oscar. Though then people are pissed because Oscar looked bad, lol.
Oscar's great shot was not his right hand
a good right that boxes is a handful for TBud

manny faced Drained Oscar
TBud faced hydrated Saul who had enough in the tank to take 3 to 4 rounds
TBud's Hydrated Saul > manny's Drained Oscar
your judgement clouded after whining over TBud being mean to manny:rofl:

TBud 8-4 Oscar
I see Oscar doing good in the first 3 rounds but TBud takes over in the second half
Oscar was a fader and would get confused in bouts
Due to his incredible boxing genius TBud gets stronger as the fight goes on like Floyd
That's a pretty good matchup. Oscar fought everyone and took on all challenges. He had Olympic pedigree and a wicked left hook. I'm not sure if Crawford would just be too versatile or would Oscar's toughness speed and power get him through it. Good matchup but I don't think I could pick a definitive winner.Oscar's great shot was not his right hand

Oscar De La Hoya on a fight by fight basis, individual fights and wins 'has a better resume than Terrence Crawford'.
I have mentioned this before? Terrence Crawford has had a great career in terms of gaining titles 'but on a fight by fight basis, he really only has one to two great wins. And those wins were against completely dead at the weight fighters in Errol Spence Junior and Canelo Alvarez'.
Which is not Terrence Crawford's fault, but those are still the facts. A part from those wins, Crawford really in my opinion does not have a impressive resume that can go head to head with past great fighters resumes such as Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao'.
Note: People need to acknowledge that Oscar De La Hoya fought during the second greatest welter weight era potentially of all-times 'definitively top 3 welterweight eras of all-times. And he was one of the premier champions and during this boxing era a fighter who defined it'.
Terrence Crawford's boxing era, was not really super talented 'when his career progressed, he was only really competing against miles outside of their peak fighters. Such as Kell Brook, Amir Khan and a semi-retire Shawn Porter'.
From a pure skill for skill perspective, you would have to rate Shawn Porter as Terrence Crawford's best win 'out of all the big fights Crawford has had, Shawn Porter was the most in form fighter'.
But Shawn Porter although he was a solid fighter 'I have always regarded him as the American version of Derek Chisora, but marginally more sophisticated and talented. Shawn Porter would be the level of fighter Floyd Mayweather Junior fought in the latter part of his career'.
It is a close fight to call as Terrence Crawford is a great fighter, but I think hypothetically at their peak, Oscar De La Hoya would be the favourite to win etc.
