Crawford says he would’ve messed up Pacquiao in their primes — the same thing every one of Pac’s opponents said before facing him. But after the fight, they walked away bloodied and humbled. Only one survived, the guy who ran and hugs. It’s always easier said than done. And don’t forget: a smaller Gamboa wobbled Crawford in his prime.
Crawford fans keep acting like this generation is superior to Pacquiao’s era. But let me remind you what a 40-year old Pacquiao did to Thurman — who, in my opinion, was a better fighter than both Crawford and Spence in their generation.

2016-Terence Crawford insisted that any fight with Manny Pacquiao would have to take place at the 140-pound super lightweight division. In 2016, after defeating Viktor Postol to unify titles at 140 pounds
2020-Crawford was offered $6.5 million guaranteed, per sources, along with upside of the pay-per-view at $5 for every buy over 300,000. He countered at $9.5 million with upside at 500,000.
Crawford fought Brook for 4 million no ppv upside.
2021-The proposed Manny Pacquiao-Terence Crawford welterweight title fight, pegged for June 5, appears all but dead after the funding from Abu Dhabi investors never came through. “Sources: If deal completed, the fight would have headlined ESPN+ PPV. Pacquiao signed his contract, but Crawford never did. Now it looks like it doesn’t matter that Crawford didn’t sign.”
I think Crawford has been great for this generation, but he's no Pacquiao. That dude faced so much talent and odds, it's crazy when you think about it. Pacquiao would have been too much for Crawford, but it would have been a fun fight to watch for sure. It's one of those that we'll never know, but can only fantasize about.
