Against Gvozdyk he was going to pull out a 5 weeks before the fight as he had a torn tendon in his arm, and injured right knuckle, and a cut above the eye, Against Morrell, David was bloated up to 220+ before a 1 month and a half for weight cut down to 175. Here he seems to be fully prepared and acclimated to the weight class.

Time will tell but David definitely has the size and frame to move up to Heavyweight and win world titles in 4 divisions putting him on par with Cotto. Also, he has EXCEPTIONAL hand speed and stamina for a big guy plus Opetaia is the only real threat at Cruiserweight whereas Usyk is on the verge of retirement.
Let's see what happens tomorrow but I expect a REPEAT of the Beterbiev-Yarde fight i.e. a back and forth war until Benavidez eventually wears him down and stops him late.
Heavyweight?
He's 6'2 and 74.5" reach. That's a pretty small heavyweight. We are used to him looking big and lanky but at heavy he would be small with a SHORT reach.
I mean to get a belt from a B level belt holder guy like a joe Parker or dubious those are big guys near 250lbs 2-3 inches in height and 2-5 inches in reach on benavidez and what happens when they decide bena can't hurt them and bull through his combinations
He has an easy 2nd career as a social media grifter telling skinny fat gen zers how to get jacked like him though they won't be able to because of his BBC genetics.:fing02:
from the side on face to face view benny looks very lean and skinny but u can see a small little belly bulge at the bottom, suspect a left over from his fat kid daysKid Fat Dave was 280 at the peak of his powers

I though Fat Dave would look much taller next to him, nice mass of Buff Guy Yarde's pec gotta admit.Dave one tall mofo on camera
I've seen him offline multiple times and went up close once to say hello
in the flesh he doesn't appear that tall and I'm below average in size
who wouldn't want to shake Buff Guy Yarde's hand in awe of His Muscleness

What I see
PROLIFIC bodypuncher
Great guard peeling
Good spear jab
Good defense
Flawed footwork
Not convinced about his stamina he eased off in the final 4 rounds in each of his last two fights and averaged 45 punches thrown per round. Floyd a low volume sniper was 40 per round. Artur averaged 57 per round v Top Soviet Bivol
David is 28. Saul at 28 displayed higher ability. I have Saul as all time great but far from being a super great
IBHOF probably
HOF requires bringing attention onto the sport of boxing done with multiple big fights and winning enough of them
Miguel Cotto is a HOF
ATG is much harder to achieve. Who you beat, HOW you won, When you won
Ability wise I currently have David somewhere between Fernando Vargas and Miguel
Miguel is just bordering great but not quite
straight from David’s own mouth in recent interview aiming to outdo what Artur did to Yarde
it’s fair to judge David based on what he said
time to reassess his abilities after Buff Guy Yarde fight

Anxiously looking forward for this fight ... The Monster has to shine and outclass Yarde ... Not a done deal... Anything but an early KO will be seen as blemish...Again, not a done deal and I can see Yarde out boxing him and winning on points ... :cool:I’ll be super surprised if Buff Guy Yarde outboxes AND GETS THE DECISION
American media hype machine is fully behind Dave
they want him to be the next superstar so bad
If benavidez is really losing near 60 pounds from out of camp to weigh in then he is going to have a shortened career like Ricky hattton and be shot by 33-35
And cruiserweight they will just have to match him well, he already had a big drop off in power at 175, he at least still has stamina and work rate but that will be reduced if he keeps abusing his body. He will be under powered at cruiser. I can't picture him with Jai who is large and quick and if he decides David can't hurt him
I think Dave would be feather fisted at cruiser
Dave would have use his good spear jab to box more. But his footwork isn’t great
And the cruisers are nowhere near as good as the light heavies
Also... Benny only has a paper WBC interim belt... Nothing to brag about ... The Regular belt is "open" ... so Top Soviet Bivol took the real wbc off Artur
That real wbc was vacated
wbc gifts Dave their belt but doesn’t give him the real one that was vacated?
wth is going on lol

Bro I think you're VASTLY underrating Benavidez...he's the 'next guy' in the division and will most likely retire an ATG and HoF (although whether he eclipses Bivol & Benavidez remains to be seen). I expect a back and forth war on Saturday night but think he'll eventually stop Yarde just like Kovalev & Beterbiev both did. IBHOF probably

looking forward to Saturday
Buff Guy Yarde will be Dave's 3rd shared opponent with the greats
third chance is his opportunity to show if he's level with the greats or the greats are much better
BigBobArumSpray_resistant style makes fights, BUT THREE is a PATTERN!

David is looking in the best shape he has for years imo. Lean and mean, very sharp. Yarde is a dead man walking.I agree, since he moved up he has been plagued with bad circumstances.
Against Gvozdyk he had stopped sparring and conditioning himself one month prior the fight, he was stopping prepping as he was going to cancel the co-main with Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin. Yet opted to do so despite still recovering from a knuckle injury, a arm torn tendon and a cut that needed to heal from the eyebrow.
Against Morrell, David came bloated having moved to Miami partying and eating for half a year (5-6 months) after he had issues with his father and moved out from Seattle. Then he had to make quite a big weight cut from December to January 31 after it was announced in November. (220+ to 175). Which he trained hard at least, but his stamina was affected because more of a rushed weight cut than preparing for a specific opponent.
Now he had 4 month prep time and trained under good conditions after making amends with his main trainer, Jose Benavidez Sr. I think we will see a better version of DB that then one from 2022-2023.in Dave's two most recent fights
he slowed down in the final 4 rounds of each
each fight was fought in 3 phases
Phase 1 the first 4 rounds starts off guns blazing high pressure all up in the opp's ass
Phase 2 rounds 5 to 8 spear jabbing and boxing the opp
Phase 3 the final 4 rounds foot off the gas pedal slows down neither the brawling nor the boxing is as good as the prior phases
the final 4 rounds are where Gvozdyk and Cuban David each took the bulk of their rounds
David is looking in the best shape he has for years imo. Lean and mean, very sharp. Yarde is a dead man walking.

Smashwhat will Buff Guy Yarde’s ring weight be
I’m thinking between 195 to 200
good question, it would be great if we had this info instead of relying on boxers telling us the info like benny did, he looks wide with muscles so yeah he could well be 190 plus in the ring alrite
its a disgrace hes allowed to wear the mexican colours
And Ginger should've been stripped of his colors for BLATANTLY ducking David......#MexicansDontFcukAround said Ginger
