If benavidez is really losing near 60 pounds from out of camp to weigh in then he is going to have a shortened career like Ricky hattton and be shot by 33-35 And cruiserweight they will just have to match him well, he already had a big drop off in power at 175, he at least still has stamina and work rate but that will be reduced if he keeps abusing his body. He will be under powered at cruiser. I can't picture him with Jai who is large and quick and if he decides David can't hurt him I think Dave would be feather fisted at cruiser Dave would have use his good spear jab to box more. Against Gvozdyk he had stopped sparring and conditioning himself one month prior the fight, he was stopping prepping as he was going to cancel the co-main with Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin. Yet opted to do so despite still recovering from a knuckle injury, a arm torn tendon and a cut that needed to heal from the eyebrow. Against Morrell, David came bloated having moved to Miami partying and eating for half a year (5-6 months) after he had issues with his father and moved out from Seattle. Then he had to make quite a big weight cut from December to January 31 after it was announced in November. (220+ to 175). Which he trained hard at least, but his stamina was affected because more of a rushed weight cut than preparing for a specific opponent. Now he had 4 month prep time and trained under good conditions after making amends with his main trainer, Jose Benavidez Sr. I think we will see a better version of DB that then one from 2022-2023.in Dave's two most recent fights he slowed down in the final 4 rounds of each each fight was fought in 3 phases Phase 1 the first 4 rounds starts off guns blazing high pressure all up in the opp's ass Phase 2 rounds 5 to 8 spear jabbing and boxing the opp Phase 3 the final 4 rounds foot off the gas pedal slows down neither the brawling nor the boxing is as good as the prior phases the final 4 rounds are where Gvozdyk and Cuban David each took the bulk of their rounds
