Ali, Duran, Robinson, Oscar, Pacquiao, you name it… every other ATG in history have traveled to foreign hostile countries/territories to fight, without hometown advantage. Crawford for example had to go to England to win his first title against Ricky Burns I believe, so did Spence. Fury and AJ at least tested themselves by coming to the US to fight (and Fury got robbed btw). Usyk has spent his entire career fighting on the road, against crazy politics and judges that were out to screw him, and still stands undefeated. The list goes on and on.
Floyd’s is the only one here that has NEVER fought outside of Las Vegas his home turf, let alone in another country. In most his fights the judges, referee, and commission are on his side. He CLEARLY lost the Castillo fight and got a gift. He gets to pick his opponents gloves, cheat with IVs, deny other fighters medication, handpick the referee, etc. Just LOL. Never has to travel himself. His career has always been about minimizing risk and maintaining advantage, rather than chasing greatness.
This why I can’t have Floyd in my Top 20. It’s not because he isn’t a good fighter. But every other fighter on that list chose to step outside their comfort zone and truly test themselves. They deserve to be called Great for it. Floyd doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Robinson Duran and Usyk. It’s just the truth.
And now he is fighting 60 year old Mike Tyson. SMH.
so it was only banned in vegas in 2007, not like you claimed for 30+ years. Not in vegas.
That's not true.
It's been banned in Vegas since atleast 1989.
Why do you think it was only banned from 2007?
so how did floyd used it in the past?
When did he use it? Which fights?
yes, it makes your punch more damaging since your hands are not hurting from it, so you can punch harder and throw more punches without the fear of hurting your hands.
Not how it works at all. It does not make your punches harder or more damaging at all.
You need to do a lot more research.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) banned injections of Xylocaine (lidocaine) before the Floyd Mayweather vs. Ricky Hatton fight in December 2007. Although the specific date is not widely reported, the rule was in effect by that time.
It was banned in 2007 yes.
And for 30+ years before that.
Wrong.
It's been banned for 30+ years in Las Vegas. Lloyd Honeyghan tested positive for it in 1989.
You should do more research on this topic before passing comment.
Yeah I'm aware of what you said, but it's really really really really stupid.
Plaster of Paris is a weapon. It's essentially a hard brick like texture on your wraps that's sole purpose is to hurt and damage your opponent.
Xylocaine is a pain killer, used to protect the hands. If someone were to use Xylocaine, like Oscar De La Hoya did for example, it doesn't make your punches any more damaging or hurtful than it would without them.
These two substances are polar opposites of one another.
And on top of that, I don't see any evidence that Floyd even used Xylocaine. I remember there was a fight in the early 00's after the C.Hernadez fight when he broke his hand whereby he said he'd used it, obviously it wasn't illegal to do so as he didn't pop for it.
Other than that, when has he ever used it? I'm not aware of it for any fight.

it numbs your hand, so you can throw without the pain, which is why i said like margarito but without the actual plaster.

I think he used it for one fight in the mid 00's if I remember correctly.
Oscar De La Hoya used it also, amongst others.
Firstly, you just lied and said he moved to Vegas to use Xylocaine. That's not true because you can't use Xylocaine in Vegas for the fight and also you don't even know if he even used Xylocaine at all for any of those fights.
Secondly, using Xylocaine is nothing alike to using plaster of paris. You can't hurt somebody using Xylocaine.

Don't believe so, no. He has used it in the past. I don't see any evidence that he has used it since the mid 00's.
It's banned to use in Vegas (NSAC) a week before the fight and on fight day so your argument that he moved to Vegas to use Xylocaine is false.

So floyd doesnt use Xylocaine?

he started fighting in Vegas so he can inject meds for his brittle hands, which would numb them during a fight aka magarito style punch without the plaster.
That's not true.

It appears the dumbass TS Jacobson doesn’t realize that 24 of Floyd’s 50 fights were not in Vegas.
Worse are the co-signers in the thread.
All you guys had to do was check.
Geez the hatred and bigotry makes you guys do dumb stuff.
Floyd ceded two advantages to fight Oscar wore Oscar's choice of gloves for him and the 147 division one crooked ass judge scored it for Oscar too who max took 4 rounds: the 2nd, the 4th, the 6th, and possibly the 12th Floyd was smart enough to know when he was the b-side and when he was the a-side Once he became a-side he acted like it No one becomes the boss only ro act like an employee. Taking a title should always be difficult AF But the haters will never be satisfied Tears will forever ruin their mascara. " :crying:..... Why do I have to GO win a title . "

Perhaps, to be fair I think I have to watch more of both. There is no longer the recency bias for me that could play a role on his position.
What is reason you position Mayweather there.ran through 9 hall of famers Diego Arturo Oscar Ricky Juan Shane Miguel Saul manny easily mopping 7 of them of them 1 being a top 15 all time manny
Only 1 of the 9 hall of famers Oscar managed to take more than 3 clear rounds
Sugar Robinson
Henry
Harry
Sam
Ezzard
Willie
Muhammad
Roberto
Joe
Sugar Leonard
Floyd
Benny
Pernell
manny
Sugar Leonard and Floyd can both be top 10 if place them ahead of Joe Louis. Reasonable
Top 4 are the immortals. Modern boxing schedule doesn’t offer the fight frequency for anyone to breach into top 4
