I was watching this boxing legends motivation video (great video btw) and was surprised at how EASILY Foreman manhandled Frazier who was champion at the time and had just handed Muhammad Ali his FIRST loss a couple of fights ago (2:20min).
I loosely knew the story but was still shocked at how Foreman dropped him at will and beat him all around the ring like he stole something.
Of course, Ali would then beat up Foreman and catch him with a perfectly timed straight right hand on the chin to knock him out.
It must've been a MAGICAL time and as the old saying goes 'styles make fights'.
- - The reason being Doc Ferdie to did the post fight medical checkup say Foreman ruined Ali insides, so he and Herbert won't let Ali fight Big George.
He and Cosell went to Foreman's 5 man exhibition where they make monkeys out themselves wif Ali screaming he ain't never getting the rematch.
Ali's next fight where he admits he turned down an Indonesian Oil Man's $10mil purse split for the rematch to have Chuckles Wepner Minecraft Bedrock Edition to beat him up in Podunk, Ohio for peanuts

Yes i see this
What were those odds? Seemed like a pick em fight.
"Las Vegas odds-makers made Joe Frazier a 3½-to-1 favorite, or a 4-to-1 favorite, over George Foreman for their first fight in 1973, but the odds ultimately didn't matter as Foreman dominated and won by TKO in the second round, despite being a significant underdog."
Vegas, you know, the OFFICIAL ODDSMAKERS, had SJF the overwhelming favorite. Who GAF about an individuals picks :lol1: ????

To tell you betting odds and predictions don't mean Jack Schi77. Vegas, you know, the OFFICIAL ODDSMAKERS, had SJF the overwhelming favorite. Who GAF about an individuals picks :lol1: ????
But Joe had more guts and courage than Foreman. Joe wanted the second crack at Foreman. Foreman did not want the second crack at Ali, who Joe beat.
Not relevant in the slightest
BGF really did play basketball with poor SJF
Bounced him around all over the ring :boxing:

Yes I remember that too. But I think Ali was going to charm Africa to his side anyway, whether they were german shepards or poodles or chihuahas. Foreman was introvert then and not good with public relations... until George 2 figured it out.
That's true, Ali had a charisma and charm that even his haters admired. Foreman at the time, seemed like an unemotional, soft-spoken killer.
In the movie, "When We Were Kings", it talks about how Foreman lost the crowd as soon as he got off the plane. He had two German shepherds with him, the same kind of dog that the whites terrified the blacks with there (and here too, for that matter).

Foreman should have beaten Ali too but the mind games and crowd support for Ali did him in. Foreman was so traumatized by it that he didn't even want a rematch with Ali.

Foreman was an absolute terror.
One of my favorite fights to go back to was his complete destruction of Ron Lyle, a fighter some may argue hit as hard as Foreman himself, if not harder.
You should watch both fights. Big George destroyed Smokin' Joe in '73 & '76.
I already did...it was like watching a domestic level fighter against a world champion. What made it even more shocking was the fact that Frazier was world champion and had just beaten Ali!
It definitely took guts. Foreman was a monster.
Words can't describe the total respect for Joe Frazier and those Foreman fights in some ways are the most admirable inspiring of his career. He got the F*** up every time.
