How would you assess Gervonta Davis' career if he walks away from the sport after fighting Jake Paul?
1 being the most disappointing
10 being he accomplished everything you'd want him to in his career
Made a lot of money? He barely just started making good money, the Jake Paul fight being his biggest purse, so if he quits now, I wouldn't say he's a guy who made a lot of money.
He’s made way more money than his accomplishments in boxing should allow.
And for this fight he’s going to make 40 mill (rumoured) so yeah I’d say alot of money. More than 99.9% of all boxers will make.
4 division champion King Leo El Famoso Terremoto Santa Cruz is his best win to date but there's been a few other real good wins on his resume. I really hope he tries to make a name for himself at 135 before he retires.
The voluntary knee will linger on and the Garcia win has aged like milk so far. What’s he gonna do after boxing though… hope he can stay out of trouble.
He can't even stay out of trouble while he's boxing. He's a bad person with low self control and low intelligence. It's only a matter of time before he's in trouble again.

He'll go down as a guy who made a lot of money, but was a massive let down in regards to the hype he had at age 23.
Very poor resume. I don't think any fighters beaten in the Top 5 and if there is any there's not many.

I don't get how he's a cash cow when he's terrible at promoting his fights. He has no personality. Really might be a worse cash cow than Canelo. Also he's kinda boring as a boxer. Even though he has power he has a really low punch output.
He will be forgotten very quickly.
He made good money, but he's not a star, his resume is poor and nobody will be vocal about him when he's gone.
On the flip side, if he leaves with his faculties intact, that's important for a boxer.
As long as he doesn't do something stupid (which is difficult for him), he and his family should be fine for this and the next generation and that's all that really matters in life.
I'd rate him 5. As someone who lives outside the US I never got swept along with the hype. He had big name backing early and was supposed to look the part with his designer clothes, shades, tattoos and jewellery but his tangible boxing career has been mediocre. Inactive, never establishing himself as divisional #1, my favourite moment of his career was the LSC knockout five years ago.
i thought very highly of him when he defeated pedraza and an undefeated mandatory on the road. that's very good for a young fighter. then he started to miss weight, act like a thug, make fights i didn't want and i was no longer a fan. if he doesn't want roach or shakur, he better retire. i don't want him in any other fight.

If you go by TBRB, Frank Martin at #5 is his only true top 5 win I think. TBRB hasn't updated their archives since 2023 so I'm going on memory here but I think that's it.
Ryan Garcia was #3 at lightweight at the time they fought, but the fight took place at a catchweight above the limit so that's pretty dubious.
Before that it was Jose Pedraza at #7.

Money wise an 7.
Legacy wise a 2.
He's made some good coin even though many of his fights bombed ppv wise aside from panty Cruz and Garcia fight who he put restrictions on. Now the fight with paul.
Legacy wise hes only beaten pedraza and got a gift against puppy cruz and roach. Nothing worth remembering. He'd always be down on the scorecards til his power bailed him out.
4.
I'd consider his career a HUGE disappointment.
He'd go down in history as the worst American "cash cow" fighter in history.
He's supposed to be the heir to the lineage of Leonard, De La Hoya, & Floyd, especially since Broner didn't pan out.
He was in the most talented corridor in boxing for 7 years (130-140) with multiple P4P fighters, who were all foaming at the mouth to fight Tank & he fought none of them.
