Almost every one of those hall of famers that he beat were shot or past their prime.
Manny- koed cold by marquez and then floyd fought him
maidana-already lost to many fighters including khan and alexander
canelo - catch weight weigth drained and green. He would get more credit if he faced him at 154.
Cotto- koed bad by margartia and manny
Judah- koed by kostya
Mitchell- koed by kostya
mosley- shot. Lost twice to forrest and twice to winky. (floyd also ducked winky)
de la hoya- shot and it was a sd life and death win. Koed by hopkins before. He retired two fights after.
Floyd didn't fight a lot of guys that were undefeated in their prime. His best wins are below that were undefeated in their prime.
1. Corrales undefeated - top 5 p4p
2. Hatton - TOP TEN P4P undefeated coming off kostya win
3. Canelo - but it was a cw.
4. Castillo- great win but many thought he lost first fight
Compare it to bud. It's not that far off. Bud has more better undefeated wins against undefeated young hungry lions in their prime than floyd does. In fact, the spence win is better than any win floyd has in his whole career. It was a p4p top 5 fighter who many thought would beat floyd.
Not only that bud BUd never made excuses, never made you do a blood test, never avoid anyone, and moved up 3 weight classes to fight canelo with no cw. Money floyd isn't in the same universe as Crawford. Also Bud never had any questionable close fights unlike floyd with castillo and sd win against de la hoya. It was always utter domination.
Spence > corrales win
135- undefeated prime gamboa
140 - undefeated prime postol
147 - undefeated prime spence top 4 p4p
154- undefeated prime madrimov
168- prime canelo
i never said that dumbass. I said his resume is overrated because he never went undisputed in each weight class and picked and choose all of the hofers after they lost and were shot. He basically let them all fight each other and then when they were wounded he fought them. And the fact that's his best prime win shows his resume is not comparable with other atg's who fought and beat each other in their prime.
Er, yeah you did say that.
You said, verbatim;
"In fact bud's win against spence is better than any win mayweather has at 147. He beat a p4p top 5 undefeated fighter in a 50-50 betting odds fight something floyd never did."
That description literally describes Mayweather's win over Diego Corrales.
Mayweather fought 7 fighters ranked in the Top 10 P4P at the time they fought. Crawford fought how many in comparison?
the same corrales who was undefeated and top 5 p4p? That you said floyd never did in his career :lol1:
Give it up.

Mayweather's best prime win is corrales. To say his resume is on par with the old time greats is an abomination.

Come on, King Floyd fought everyone. He beat McGregor when no boxer even dared to fight him, also fought Guerrero and Baldomir when they were at their most dangerous forms, fought Alvarez and Gatti on their prime, destroyed Hatton and Big Show back-to-back which was never been done before.
Crawford? Fights once a year.
What everyone seems to be forgetting is that Crawford's resume is also more honest and he should get more points for that. If memory serves me, Mayweather never went for undisputed anything and rarely ever even tried to unify titles or fight mandatories. That's cause he cherry picked to death. Crawford said I'm going for undisputed. I don't care who has those titles or how in their prime they are, I'm coming after them. That's harder to do. There will always be unpredictable wild card fighters who can make you look bad or get an upset no matter what their record.
That's why fighters avoid doing so when they become a name. Notice Canelo also generally avoided mandatories, until 168 where they were incredibly weak, and also avoided undisputed at 154 abs 160. Crawford is a true champion, no catch weight or A side bs or a favorite referee that's going to let you hold all night. Face it, Crawford is more of an old school purist type of champion where as Mayweather is more of a cosmetic marketing gimmick Don King type champion.
You are genuinely wrong then. Mayweather signed a fight for undisputed at 147. Judah unfortunately lost to Baldomir and acrewed it up.
Not a Floyd fan at all! Actually when I did watch smaller weight classes I despised him after the Gatti fight but nobody could touch him. He was the best hands down. Not Pacman it was Floyd. I hated Roy Jones but as soon as Jones beat Ruiz he should have retired because he was all reflexes & as soon as he lost some speed he started getting hit hard. Floyd never really declined rapidly because of his defensive skills. Looking back Floyd made some pretty great fighters seem ordinary. Crawford will be forgotten long before Floyd. Crawford doesn’t have the resume but he is a hall of famer without a doubt…greatest defender ever
I've seen a lot of comparisons and its mostly an attempt to claim Bud is greater/better than Floyd.
You get a lot discrediting Floyds best wins - Which is fair even his most diehard fans will tell you so & so wasn't at their best and such. There is also a lot of emphasis always on Floyd how he didn't beat a prime ATG, again fair criticism, you can make that case.
But what I ask is this, apply the same view to Crawfords resume.
Look at his resume and just be honest with yourself, was these guys prime or even close to it?
The only one that was really, Postol who while a decent boxer frankly was not at the level people assumed he was prior.
The rest was all hopelessly past prime.
I would somewhat agree. The difference is, Floyd took easier fights as he aged, but he did fight some prime big names during his prime years. Prime Crawford couldn't get the big-name fights under Arum and simply stayed with him too long. Now at nearly 38, he's trying to make up for lost time and missed big $$$.

I cant even take this serious. Spence? A faded kell brook and Amir Khan? A blown up Gamboa? Jeff Horn? Jeff Horn? A washed up Shawn Porter? Some Russian. Some African. He never faced tim Bradley who was under top rank, never faced Pacquiao who was under top rank.
Dont get me wrong Crawford is great no shade but his weakest link is his resume names. Crawford got the accolades but Floyd got the names. We will see who will remember him in 20 years. It isnt like Crawford was a big market in boxing. He will be like Aaron Pryor. Great but forgotten.
This new generation jumps from one hero to the next hero. Internet moves way faster than text books. Floyd came in during the last years of real boxing journalism not youtube boxing channels filled with casuals trying to make a quick buck.
Didn’t even bother reading beyond your post. You said it all. Thread should’ve ended with your reply.

:lol1: @ the bold.........
Pls explain
Whatever May didn't do somehow makes him still relevant even after almost a decade into retirement.
And is constantly matched with and compared to every ATG there is
Holy shlt :lol1: !!!

Both Mayweather and Crawford best opponents were well past their primes. Especially Crawford who has made a career of beating guys on the brink of retirement.
That’s the truth.
But Mayweather had a much better resume when he was younger.
Postol- ranked 108, Gamboa- former FW champ with one previous LW fight, Spence- brain-damaged from two car accidents, the first of which would have killed 9 out ten, Madrimov- Bud struggled with an 11-pro fight opponent, Canelo- After 67 fights and 35, far from prime. Yeah, these are absolutely stellar examples of Crawford's excellence.
Finally someone in these "Bud is the greatest threads" with more than half a brain cell

Competitive fights?? Mayweather schooled Canelo in a 12 round shut out
BUD had two dominant rounds against Canelo amd the rest were really tight and competitive
Also bud was nearly polaxed by a 5'4 midget coming up two weight classes
i dont like him but mayweather was the best fighter ive seen in my lifetime.... people seem to forget he whooped canelo even easier than crawford did, was one of the easiest fights he ever hadOnly 1 of Floyd’s 9 Hall Of Fame opponents managed to take more than 3 clear rounds
Floyd was on a whole other level
the best boxer since Sugar Leonard
