If the answer is no, he should just vacate and let deserving contenders to determine a future N.1.
This Alvarez belt hostage era is over now, hopefully Bud vacates and moves down to 160. I don`t believe he will go back to 154.
Bud fighting Iglesias or Sheeraz is a wild debate, but boxing and betting have always gone hand in hand. People act shocked, but fans have been putting money on fights forever. I like keeping it simple and mobile, though. I’ve got https://bc-games.com.in/download-app/ on my phone, which lets you bet and play casino games, no fuss. The app runs smooth, and that 120% first deposit bonus up to 43,000 INR plus free spins helps stretch your bankroll. As long as you bet smart, it adds spice without ruining the sport.
There is always going to be a size issue at that weight. Crawford said in an interview that he wanted Canelo because he wasn't a big guy. Osleys is 6 ft 2
there's a difference between 154 pounder buffing his way to 168 and a NATURAL 168 pounder. People must have forgot 154 Madrimov being a handful for TBud
realistically T maxes out at middleweight. That's why Turki offered Benavidez a T fight at 160
Canelo not a 168lb fighter.
He's 5 foot 7 pumped full of roids.
During the last great era of super middleweight when we had guys like Andre Ward, Carl Froch, Mikel Kessler, I remember Arthur Abraham, a guy who actually bears an astounding stylistic resemblance to Canelo, only he was bigger than Canelo and punched harder and he really couldn't do anything at 168.
Canelo is a roided up 154lb guy who's been moonlighting in higher divisions that are a barren wasteland, didn't he win a title off Rocky Fielding .
Glad Bud ended the sideshow
I don’t disagree. But in a head-to-head match-up Alvarez is a much more natural fit with 168 than Crawford, who started his career at 135.
Still is shocking that nonetheless that someone who is more of a natural Super Featherweight had caught Crawford him the way he did. Gamboa had the traits and stylistic style to pose challenges as he has a pressuring style complimented with athleticism and high output compared to a low output counter puncher fighting a refined boxer puncher. But that's still a 33 pound weight class difference.
Me Personally, I thought Mean Machine Kavaliauskas was like a smaller and less skilled heavy handed counter puncher compared to Alvarez. Who Crawford had commented in the post fight conference that he felt that Lithuanian actually more heavy handed and was more of a threat.
Think that due to style, dimensions, innate traits and milage, fighting Crawford is just a bad match up for Saul, even if he was younger, he just might do a tad better but he wouldn't win against the 38 year old Crawford quite less a younger Crawford who would attempt to acclimate at 168. So I understand why Terrance took this challenge jumping up 2-3 weight classes, but if it came with the naturally larger prime fignters of 168-175 that aren't as much of a stylistic and milage disadvantage, he have to quite think about it. As like any other he has his limits.
Yeah, Bud was much smarter about challenging Canelo than I thought. It wasn’t just a money-grab; Crawford knew what he was looking at. Going after bigger fish — literally — doesn’t appeal to him. At 38 years-old, he has very few fights left in him. It’ll be interesting to see where Bud goes from here.
Yeah and that was the main reason why I thought he would lose to Canelo, a much more natural 168-pounder. Bud had trouble with Gamboa early on, yet managed to handle Alvarez surprisingly well. Yuri was insanely fast back then, but still. Now, Crawford has said himself that he considers Benavidez a bit too much because of his size. He said in an interview that a guy like that (and presumably Iglesias, Morrell, Sheeraz, et al) can rehydrate to 190 and beyond. He would be fighting a heavyweight in some cases.

Kind of Insane that he went from fighting Yuriorkis Gamboa to being in the same division as Osleys Iglesias and formerly David Morrell.
There is just some fighters that quite acclimate well gaining punch resistance and punching power without losing athleticism. Pacquiao, Duran, Crawford, Roy Jones Jr, and etc.

I have suggested that Terrence Crawford, if he continues fighting 'should maybe consider fighting at 160 pounds. Because there is a chance, a Super Middle Weight fighter who is just super strong, determined and durable could beat Crawford. Even though Terrence Crawford skill for skill may be better than most fighters at 168 pounds, stylistically? I do sense that the divisions still may be extremely dangerous for him'.
Note: Canelo Alvarez is fundamentally a skill for skill fighter, with power 'whenever he has been matched in the areas where he excels? Alvarez has always struggled to switch up his style and just win fights on applying pure pressure, and destroying fighters with his brute strength and power'.
The 168 pound divisions is not a super talented divisions currently, but? I think there are fighters in the divisions, who will be well aware of how to fight Crawford. Terrence Crawford is not a destructive power puncher, and? I still don't think his levels of brute strength are going to be that much better than other Super Middle Weight fighters'.
We have seen in Terrence Crawford recent fights, that fighters like Israil Madrimov were able to really push him in a close fight. Madrimov skill for skill is not on the level of Canelo Alvarez, but? At this stage of his career, he is most likely has better endurance than Alvarez'.
Stylistically a similar situation could happen at 168 pounds for Terrence Crawford 'where he just encounters a fighter, who's brute strength and endurance is able to negate his skill level'.
To conclude: I have always liked the idea of Terrence Crawford fighting at 160 pounds, and I did expect him to move into that division before challenging Canelo Alvarez. When you really think about it? There are more mega fights for Crawford at 160 pounds, than 168 pounds besides from a potential rematch vs Canelo Alvarez II'.
There are potential mega fights against Chris Eubank Junior, and then titles fights against any of Champions in that division 'they are all challenging but winnable fights, and stylistically maybe easier for him to prepare for than fighters at 168 pounds' etc.
I can’t see Crawford making a fight with either. He needs $10 mil or more. These opponents will not generate that much revenue.
Agreed. Bud is at the end of his career. At 38 years-old, how many more fights has he got left in him? Those two guys are very dangerous for him. Iglesias, for example, is listed at 6’ 2 1/2”. Crawford, at 5’9”, would have a lot on his plate. Skills only go so far.
Iglesias and Sheeraz have skills, but at what level? We don't really know.
I'd prefer fighters try to take Crawford's belts, but if he isn't going to fight for (most likely) another year, just scatter them so the division's newer, rising talent can have a chance.
Bud has incredible skill, but styles make fights, and Iglesias or Sheerez could pose real challenges depending on how disciplined they fight. Sometimes it’s less about raw talent and more about timing, strategy, and whether the body still has enough miles left for those wars. I wouldn’t be shocked if Bud decided to vacate, it might be the smartest move if he can’t dominate at this weight anymore. I was just reading some debates on https://justanswer.pissedconsumer.com/review.html and it reminded me how fans always have split takes.
