That would be a good fight.
So it leeaves Kabayel for Usyk? I guess we will find out in 2026.
Heavyweights are tired if waiting. Parker- Wardley and Hrgovic - Itauma would be great.
Filip Hrgovic really should have been his opponent instead Dillian Whyte 'but this tactical match making does show that, even though? Itauma's team say they are game to match him with any heavyweight fighter. They are still thinking their way through the process of his development'.
Note: Hrgovic is a fundamentally solid fighter, does not have great speed 'or power, but he has proven that? When the going gets tough in a fight, he does not disappear. This is the type of fighter Moses Itauma needs to compete against. All of his opponents up into this point, have not really believed they could win. In my opinion they just seemed to be content with being given a great opportunity to fight Itauma'.
Flilip Hrgovic unlike Dillian Whyte, will back himself against any fighter 'he has a certainty about his ability, which was most likely fortified during his amateur career'.
Now, I don't rate Filip Hrgovic super highly, I think there are many fighters who would beat him 'including Anthony Joshua at any stage of his career. I really don't rate Hrgovic as a dangerous heavyweight fighter; I think we have all seen enough of him to categorize him in his own domain. He is a solid durable fighter, does not have much power and seems to be getting bashed about and smashed up badly in all of his recent fights'.
To conclude: This fight is Filip Hrgovic's big opportunity to really sky rocket his career 'I think for a very long time, he has been living off Jacknory stories that have been told about him. Sparring stories similar to Martin Bakole'.
If it happens, I would rate this fight as Moses Itauma's first real high jeopardy fight 'Filip Hrgovic although he is not a super dangerous fighter or formidable. This guy is going to come into this fight to win' etc.
I just want to see Itauma get hit cleanly with shots he don’t see coming. Can he take a punch? Can he go 12 rounds? How will be respond if he gets cuts early? So many unanswered questions & should not be a #1 contender yet. He beat McKean & washed up Whyte so take that for what it is but he does not deserve a title shot. Lets see him against Parker or Kabayel. Beat one of those 2 & then we can talk am legit contender.
I think flips got a good chin but he's maybe used it too much and it's time to be cracked. I was worried in the 8th round v Adeyele.
But he's a step up, so if itauma beats him in a round don't say it was a bad choice of opponent for moses?
On paper it's good fight but who knows?
Hrgovic will give him rounds but not much else IMO. Unless Itauma has gas tank issues, I don’t see how Hrgovic gives him problems.
I’d like to see Itauma in with an explosive fighter who will put him on the back foot. AJ or Dubois would be interesting. Maybe he blitzes them early but maybe he gets clipped and we see what he’s made of.
This is a solid "next step" matchup for Moses, to get him in there against a Ring and/or TBRB top 10 guy, but I'll go on record as saying that Hrgovic gets stopped in this one, if the fight indeed does happen. Hrgovic gets hit too much, and I also find him to be slow and plodding, even by heavyweight standards. Moses's combination of speed and power will overwhelm the Croat.
Hrgovic with that chin was built especially to take ass whoopings.
He should think about getting surgery to remove his facial scar tissue. He may have a solid chin now, but that won't matter if his face falls apart.
Hilarious to think just 3-4 years ago, Hrgovic was seen as a future champ
Big
Ugly
Non British European
Soviet sounding last name
Fits the list for a hardcore fans hype job
Everytime I think of Hrgovic and formerly Joe Joyce I sit chuckling to myself like a mad man realising they practically just block punches with their face until the opponent has exerted themselves.
This era of HWs really is something
Hrgovic with that chin was built especially to take ass whoopings.
It's an excellent matchup, I just assumed Hrgovic would be out for a while because his cut reopened? When I look at Hrgovic I feel there's the outline of a really good fighter there if he could be a bit sharper.
As for the guys supposedly "waiting" for Usyk. The champion fought more recently than both Parker and Kabayel who have been sitting on their silly 'interim' belts, which is part of the problem with having four sets of competing rankings. People will look to strategically place themselves for an easy belt rather than fight fellow top ten TBRB fighters.
Itauma hasn't earned his shot, beating Hrgovic gets him closer.
It only takes one bad loss to completely unravel a fighter's momentum, which is why Kabayel/Parker are being very careful. Joyce's career hasn't been the same since he lost his 1# spot vs. Zhang. Usyk's big purses also incentivize him to defend his titles. Also, Parker/Kabayel probably aren't getting paid anywhere near Usyk's purses.
Kabayel vs. Ajagba, Parker vs. Bakole 2.
Well, I think Hrgovic takes him into deep waters and we find out more about Itauma. Abaut his chin, stamin, how he reacts when the fight goes past 6th, 7th, 8th round....
Dumb post. Hrgovic is shyt, he gets stopped.
