Undoubtedly Bakhram Murtazaliev is the most avoided boxer at Super Welter.
Some believe Devin Haney is the most avoided at Welter.
Is David Benavidez avoided at SM and LH?
Is Jai Opetaia avoided, or has he just cleaned out all the Cruisers?
Who else we got?
.
The cash cow of boxing (Canelo) ran from a Benevidez fight like a scared little girl for more than 3 years. Tired of Canelo’s ducking, Benevidez moves up to Lt heavy and the champ and p4p top 5 (Bivol) drops a belt rather than fight him.
Janibek isn't being ducked. He's in a terrible division.
There is literally nobody that matters at 160
Sheeraz was his mando and didn't go to purse bids. He has been calling for Adames for a while. So he is being ducked somewhat. Likely cause the payday is not big enough for the risk he can pose
they COULD matter if they decided to actually challenge him. They are trying to wait him out for other title or financial opprotunities
They? Like who? Name those middleweights

Opetaia says he will fight Ramirez. Ramirez also says he's ready to fight Opetaia. Dont know where this is at?

Ramirez just had shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago. So 2025 is a wrap
Jai Opetaia is the biggest name at cruiser.
Janibek or whatever his name is is pretty avoided, because he offers high risk low reward even with 2 titles

Opetaia is the one doing the ducking. Briedis is the only quality opponent he has faced.
Zurdo's last 5 opponents:
Yuniel Dorticos (former IBF cruiserweight champion)
Chris Billam-Smith (reigning WBO cruiserweight champion)
Arsen Goulamirian (reigning WBA cruiserweight champion)
Joe Smith Jr. (former WBO light heavyweight champion)
Dmitry Bivol (then reigning WBA, now undisputed light heavyweight champion)
Opetaia's last 5 opponents:
Claudio Squeo
David Nyika
Jack Massey
Mairis Briedis (former 3X cruiserweight champion)
Ellis Zorro
Zurdo has been fighting killers while Opetaia has been fighting bums hoping to eventually cash out against Usyk.
Opetaia doesn’t have a chin but I don’t think the handsome fleshy Mexican is the guy to test it tbh
Boxing fans.
haha good one. haney officially moved up to welterweight and immediatelly got a fight with #1 which is norman now. that is the opposite of a ducked fighter.
mbilli, kabayel are good shouts. iglesias is a threat too. bakhram waited 4,5 years as a mandatory for his title fight which is a disaster.
there's less avoided fighters at the moment than 1-3 years ago. at least that's good.
Mbilli is heavily avoided in the Super Middleweight division and struggling to land big fights. I have a feeling the same will apply to Sheeraz following his destruction of Berlanga (and both Kabayel & Schofield following their recent performances).

Opetaia has Saudi backing. They are trying to make the fights, even invested in Zurdo.
Turki loves the guy - and he does not like duckers.
Whats with American fighters being so terrified of Russian and eastern blok fighters? Wow!
Janibek Alimkhanuly (also spelled as Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, born 1 April 1993) is a Kazakh professional boxer and unified middleweight champion who has held the WBO title since 2022, and the IBF title since October 2023. As an amateur, he won gold medals at the 2013 World Championships, 2013 Asian Championships and 2014 Asian Games. He also represented Kazakhstan at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the middleweight division, losing in the quarter-finals. He won the WBO Interim middleweight title on May 21, 2022, before being elevated to full champion on August 30, 2022, and he then won the IBF title on October 14, 2023.
Pose that question to his promoter Bob Arum. If Janibek has nothing to offer, why fight him?
See the edit.
Gilberto Ramirez has had 3 fights at cruiserweight and has picked up 2 belts against reigning world titlists and a defense against another former world titlist.
Opetaia has been fighting the absolute worst guys he can fight without getting stripped of his belt, except for the Briedis rematch (which was a great win).
Opetaia is the legitimate divisional king from the first Briedis win, but he has shown absolutely no ambition to unify or even face quality contenders.
