It's not like Garcia is a slouch, he may look lanky but the has a decent knockout streak and a deceptive record. Think I had Jorge Garcia win at best 3-4 rounds, and had some competitive rounds too. Even then Zayas nullified half of his work rate with footwork and clinches. Don't think he beat Jorge barely, think he did so in good fashion, not a master class though. That's just it, there shouldn't have been any completive rounds. He should have beat the brakes off Garcia. What other top 10 contenders or champions would have let Garcia go the distance?

At least he doesn't lack in any department, he is pretty good at everything though I wouldn't say he is a ATG talent. Experience will compliment his style though, Zayas might become a 2 division champion in the future.

Xander Zayas outclassed a tough opponent in Jorge Garcia Perez. Showing a high boxing IQ to make adjustments, won the jab battle, showcased great footwork, and landed to the body consistently. People might complain about the holding, but that was the right strategy when facing a pressure fighter with a long reach who is also dangerous in the pocket. Did we watch the same fight?
