I dont like the way he retired young so he could stay undefeated. He only had about 32 fights. He didn't do enough to become a great. His best wins were against froch and kovalev and neither of those guys were great fighters. He needed to beat a golovkin or a canelo or a beterbiev.
I also don't think Ward should be ranked or discussed about so highly. The dude got out undefeated but too soon and didn't accomplish enough. I think he was too concerned with losing his "0" and thought it was the right time to believe he did enough and didn't want to risk it any further. Yet he didn't do enough. I'll give him credit that he's well spoken when it comes to commentary or his interviews with other fighters, but I don't think anyone needs to think he's this unbelievable legend in front of them that they're speaking with. He's just another one...
He's a comeback and a Jake Paul win away from completing boxing. Took a beating from Kovalev and still won, that is the power of this man. He wins even when he loses, and that is what makes a true winner. You see, if you win when you win, and also win when you lose, you cannot be beaten, hence retiring with a 0. A true great. Good Gxd, y'all whining about a dude who retired 8 years ago because you're mad one of your Euro-bums didn't get to take his 0 :lol1:
Fact is, he tried to fight GGG when he was at 168, GGG, who's one of my favorites, didn't want the fight
He retired as the P4P #1 fighter in the world, as it was universally acknowledged that the winner of Kovalev/Ward would be the P4P king.
Get over it.
He was skilled with some decent wins but you need more than that.. So many skilled boxers with good wins. Separate yourself, what's your selling point? You need to do things others havent.
HOF'er doesn't mean **** it's not prestigious
I’m sure all those HOF’ers are absolutely devastated that Boxing 112 doesn’t think the HOF is prestigious.

Beterbiev, ranked second since his knockout win over Gabriel Campillo in April 2015, has been unable to find a dance to partner for the eliminator and the sanctioning body is tired of wasting time.
You give af about kovalev. Got it
Cotto wasn’t a known dirty fighter with a highlight reel of dirty tactics. Kovalev should have gotten the decision in the first fight then got his nutsack destroyed in the second without any action from the referee.
Zab Judah was a known baiter that gave Floyd a bunch of low blows. No sympathy for him.
The only reason he still gets mentioned is because he's "undefeated" even though he CLEARLY lost the first Kovalev fight.
Crazy how crooked judging can change the entire view of a career.
He was a dirty, boring fighter. There are highlight videos of all his dirtiest tactics. Just look at Kessler’s face after all the elbows. Should have been DQ’d for the low blows on Kovalev and several others.
I wouldn’t put him on the level of rjj or joe calzhage, but he is HoF, no doubt. He lost the 1st Kovalev fight clearly, but rematched him and won the 2nd. To me he is probably the level of beterbiev if he was to retire right now with a single loss to bivol.
He was an illegitimate creation who had to rely on boxing politics. That's why he refused to join super six unless he got all the fights at home. He knew he could get away with wrestling and headbutting nonstop if he had to...and he had to.
Then after that he refused to fight anyone good ducking guys like ggg and bute while trying to fight guys like dmitri sartison and his own promoter said I can't make him take the fights...so he got kicked to the curb.
Then he robbed Kovalev blind and retired. The entitlement. Its like the boxing establishment thought if we keep propping him up we will eventually get something in return..they didn't.
This isn't true though is it?
He didn't refuse, he negotiated and everyone else agreed because he wasn't deemed a threat. If they had said "nah, you're not big enough to make such a request" I don't think he would have pulled out

Ward didnt fight abraham or froch in oakland. So your first point is debunked
Only 1 contract has ever been offered for a ward vs ggg fight and it was offered by team ward. According to Abel Sanchez, the offer came to late because they already signed to fight david lemieux. These are team ggg words, not mines
Got off the canvas in round 2 of the first fight to go on and end kovalev career as a p4p fighter over the next 17 rounds
