Live at 7 PM CT. Will add YouTube prelims if they decide to air them, but as of now, I don’t think there is
23-2 Caleb Plant vs 15-2 Jose Resendiz
33-0 Jermall Charlo vs 39-5-1 Thomas LaManna
7-0 Yoenli Hernandez vs 19-3-1 Kyrone Davis
16-0 Isaac Lucero vs 23-0 Omar Valenzuela
Just some thoughts:
1) I really liked the pacing of the fights on the card. One right after the other with little wait time in between.
2) I can and can't believe that one judge (Sutherland?) was trying to give that fight to Sweet Hands.
3) even toned down in his commentary, Mauro Renallo was horrible. Cornflake was knocked down once in three successive rounds (not the same round) and Mauro decided to "enlighten" the audience that there was no three knock down rule in effect.
I think Plant has the same issues everyone in that stable does with that 'leave me alone' style of jabbing and backing up.
Weak jab and brings his hand back to his hip and pulls straight back waiting for a receipt or a weak jab followed by a slip outside then clinches over and over. No counterpunching, no mid-game and can't fight inside so they just step in behind the jab (something non of that stable seems capable of) and they get busted up because they're stood frozen almost. Soon as they've thrown that weak jab you know damn well nothing else is following it.
It invites pressure. Even Paulie would sit down on his punches occasionally and try gain a bit of respect.
Now he is older and tighter at the weight he's losing his speed and snap very early in fights and is just getting wailed on really. Its only his grit keeping in fights.
I see no way back for Caleb. A fight between Charlo who is also way past it and both should retire.
Plant always fades in fights it seems. Great starter and then he just withers away
He looked like crap even in the first half also though. I don't think he won more than 3 rounds tbh.
Started watching around round 6. I'm not sure why Plant's team chose to face a pressure fighter when it's clear that he has durability and endurance issues. They probably thought that Resendiz would be easier since he fought at MW two years ago, but he looked more like a SMW than Plant.
PBC over-marinated Plant/Charlo.
their plan backfired badly

To be fair Charlo was out of action for a long time due to “mental health” reasons.
Ye he needs to retire. He looked better vs Benavidez and Canelo than vs this guy. He is is donzo.
I think McCumby ruined what little spark he had left with all that ragdolling. He was lucky Trevor had a five year absence.
Very happy for Resendiz. Kid looked good and not only hurt Plant but clearly outboxed him down the stretch.

I don't think Plant should come back. He has no power to stop these younger guys, he ain't sniffing a belt now, the Charlo fight is out the window. What is left for him?
The Benavidez fight ruined him.
Breadman really should have stopped that fight, Plant sustained a beating that almost certainly shortened his career.
Canelos resume is aging like milk. Mario lopez is a B rated fighter in any other Era.
With that being said, i have Mario lopez knocking Charlo the f out.
