It would be interesting to see such kind of fighter in big guys divisions, like from light heavy to a heavyweight.
I still find 147 as small guys game. I like bigger divisions more. It would be interesting to see suck skilled black fighter there.
started in the early 90s then with internet becoming more mainstream U.S boxing promoters can't simply sweep quality fighters from other countries under the rug.
I've never heard that before.
I noticed that there were two upcoming American decorated amateurs at light heavyweights.
But Dante Benjamin has shown limited skill along with stamina issues at ProBox.
Khalil Coe who just got upset recently, is a pretty good amateur, quite a sharp counter puncher with punching power, he had won in a amateur tournament Cup in Germany. He was also the first man to stop 2 time gold medalist from Cuba, Julio Cesar La Cruz. He tried to compete in the Olympics, but wasn't qualified due to having a criminal record.
Hearn had told him that prior the match that if he can't beat Gallegos, then he likely can't become champion. A rematch was scheduled apparently, but nothing has been mentioned since it was mentioned.
Boxing is worldwide now and fighters aren't marginalized like in the past in favor of a few homegrown US talents. It turns out US dominance was never the default, the game was just manipulated that way.
Interesting.
So, when exactly did Boxing become a worldwide sport?
I am talking about now, not 10 years ago.
And ward was a very dirthy huger.
so you want to dial u a 'generational' guy like boots is supposed to be in all the bigger weight classes, might be tough to do?
You would think we'd have explosive athletic guys in 168 or 175. Guys like Andre Dirrell. Yes 147 is small. Just look at boots ring walk with Philadelphia sixers point guard. That's the smallest guy on the court and he towered over Boots.

Boots is a great fighter, but why doesn`t America have such a guy in higher divisions? | BoxingScene Community
