On a surface level
better defender
consistently target the body
longer jab but he still often has his rear hand down when jabbing, Bivol can counter jabs with lead hooks
faster hands
better stamina?
come chime in boxing experts
What he does better is far less relevant than what he does worse. Benavidez doesn't have the foot speed or the footwork in general to get to Bivol consistently, nor does he have the single-punch power to win without getting to Bivol consistently.
Bivol just went 24 straight rounds with the most destructive pressure fighter (by far) in boxing. Benavidez won't be easy to beat, but he certainly won't be as hard as Beterbiev.Yes Bena has the fastest flurries, but Bivol has the fastest feet among big men!
In order to be competitive Bena must box good in the center of the ring where I believe much of the fight will take place
otherwise Bivol mops Bena

Based on what? You're literally just being a fangirl. Zurdo 168 run is way better than bumavidez.
Porky Medina, vlasov (catchweight), Arthur Abraham, Jesse hart and roamer Angulo who he beat 2 years before bumavidez.
Meanwhile bumavidez best wins are 154 past prime lemiuex and Andrade lmfao and plant who carnela stopped. I love embarrassing you :rofl:was a boxer actually nicknamed porky:lol1:
Based on having a boxing IQ over 50. Benavidez is faster, more accurate, more skilled, far higher boxing IQ, and much better defense. Overall just far more talented with better attributes.Tell me what Zurdo does better than Benavidez?Bena falls apart against Bivol, different level.sometimes a stylistic edge can reduce the gap in a difference in levels!
Cotto was very good knocking on the door of greatness but gave Floyd good work
Maidana was good approaching very good and was a handful for Floyd

Jab and stamina. Not hard to see

Davids pressure is different than Arturs. He is more tactical, mixes up his punches and speed much better than Beterbiev who just comes forward basically throwing predictable clubbing power shots. Plus David is rangier, faster, and crucially attacks the body much more than Beterbiev which will the key to breaking down Bivol. He will slow him down and that will change everything.
I heard some brainlets thinking Bivol will make Benavidez look like Zurdo. If you think Benavidez is comparable to Zurdo then you have no idea about boxing. He is a level above him in every aspect of boxing.

I like David and I like that he wants all the smoke, but all I can see is a world class boxing lesson from Bivol here. why favor Bivol to such a large extent
Bivol beats Bena and that’s all the elite pressure guys and Mexicans worth fighting in these bigger classes
Alvarez Zurdo Bena
In Alvarez fight Bivol often countered Bena’s favorite shot left hook to the body with a left hook to the head
It remains to be seen if Bivol would indulge Bena with fighting in the pocket
Bivol is a pretty boxer but one dirty mofo. He’ll shove the head down in clinches and post with the lead hand to hit & hold
Should Bena be too effective on the inside Bivol could always clinch him
Caleb Plant was able to clinch Bena often and even won 4 or 5 rounds in their fight

but Bena is bordering very good
Your fav Alvarez is the shallow end of great
Artur is great

in rematch Bivol variation on the stick his flicker jab made it hard for Artur to counter
Bivol increased his number of counter jabs in fight 2
reducing how much distance Artur controlled
Close but not quite what I was referring to. Flicker jab wasn't really the reason Beterbiev couldn't walk him down; it just reduced Beterbiev's volume and scored points for Bivol, but flicker jabs don't do much to stop someone from walking you down, because they're not powerful and they don't obscure vision for more than a moment. They're easily countered with preslips and feints. Other opponents have used them far more than Bivol did vs Beterbiev and they got stopped.
If you rewatch again, watch WHEN he throws both before and after he exits relative to Beterbiev's cutting footwork. Is he throwing looping shots or straight shots right before he moves? Why does he prefer the shots he uses? What effect does that have on Beterbiev's inability to cut the ring? Then watch his fight vs Canelo. You'll see the exact same pattern, as well as when he fought Zurdo. The timing and fight IQ constitute an elite skill by themselves, and using the massage between rounds to keep the stamina to do it for 12 was a very smart move.
Think about why he couldn't do that, when he's one of the best in the sport at cutting the ring, and has managed to cut the ring successfully against every other opponent. Canelo couldn't cut the ring effectively either vs Bivol. I'll give you a hint: it has to do with Bivol's timing and punch selection...in rematch Bivol variation on the stick his flicker jab made it hard for Artur to counter

It would be a boring fight. Bivol beats him 11-1 in rounds , the same as against Ramirez.
After that Bivol haters will say he must beat Opetaia to prove something.
Benavidez has 2 wins and zero stoppages at 175.
Benavidez didn`t look great fighting the ghost of Gvozdyk. Bivol does with him whatever he wants.
For Benavidez fans, remember: this is not some 168 sh.it fight against 154 guy Andrade. This is for real.
Jai would be the next logical step for Bivol after 11-1 beating Bena
beat Jai then Bivol could his career with a win over Artur’s cousin Imam
Bivol would have defeated all of the fighters from warriors cultures
3x Mexicans Alvarez Zurdo Bena
1x Samoan Jai
2x Chechens Artur & Imam
there are no Elite Slique Black Americans at these higher weights for Bivol to face
matter of fact he’s the slickest guy in these big man classes

he could do a lot. for starters beterbiev couldn't cut the ring off at all and followed him around like an amatuer.

This fight could be boring for many with both having a hard time to land cleanly
Bivol & Bena are among the lowest connect % for the opponent
I believe we’ll see Bivol bring the Soviet Step out of the garage VS Bena
Bivol respects Artur’s round changing power and didn’t like the risk of getting timed
Andrade’s step back return fire with blazing fast counter combos were working on Bena
