I would assume everyone streamed the fight for free.
Let's be honest here even just for once in our lives. How do you do it? How are you able to watch every boxing event for free?
Anyone here buying the Roach vs Davis ppv rematch? It's clearly attracting more attention due to the controversies surrounding it.
(I was thinking of making a separate thread for this...)
I for one never took these reported numbers ranging from 100K to 1M seriously even when cable tv in every home is still widespread. They're just so fantastic to be believed. And now we have all these premiere networks quitting boxing left and right, yet we still have shady people making up numbers as if nothing has changed.
Realistic numbers for me should be around 50K. Numbers in the 100Ks are too hard for me to swallow. In my place of work not a single one watches boxing let alone buy ppv's.
50,000 is still a massive number. You'd be extremely lucky to achieve that amount if you're a ppv seller. In time we will soon see these numbers dwindle significantly and people will no longer talk in terms of thousands, but in the hundreds... People need to wake up and start refusing to be fed with fake unsubstantiated numbers. Trust me, reporters pulling numbers out of their asses will soon be exposed. It's inevitable.
There's no doubt massive number of fans watch boxing, except they don't spend money on them.
That's why we need authenticated numbers, not bogus concocted numbers pulled out of someone's ass.
Or stop reporting numbers altogether.
10,000 (10K) is already a lot in this day and age of economic uncertainties. Fans can't even afford Turki's cheaper ppvs let alone $90 price.
Mind-boggling to see average folks defending these fake, manufactured numbers when simple common sense is staring them on their faces. Look at you. How many ppvs did you buy last year; your circle of friends and family don't buy ppvs, do they? You didn't buy Tank's latest ppv did you? Why?
Of course not. I don't buy mismatches.
Estimate of hundred thousand people, according to this site.
This is massive, isn't it?

The typical reported ppv numbers are more than that. 200K would double that size, which is massive. Which is why it's hard to stomach such exaggerated number of people still buy ppvs. Man, even a $2 app will make anyone think twice before pushing a buy button. Let alone a ppv worth $40 to $100.
I'm just glad this site with the new owner hasn't joined substantiating these reported "fake, manufactured" numbers so far. In contrast, the previous owner which was allied with Showtime/PBC, never failed to show reports ostensibly as official numbers, which I never took seriously.
Do you still believe boxing events could still sell in the hundreds of thousands of PPV buys?
100,000, for example, is just a massive number. 10,000 is also massive in this day and age of economic uncertainties.
Or you're now convinced the reported numbers are fake and exaggerated?
What should be the realistic numbers in your estimate?

OP trying to make 100,000 ppv sells seem like alot :rofl:
