So, I have no problem eating crow when it is justified. I'm still thinking this out. Was Tank just unable to beat a solid, decent sized opponent, with some skills?
Or was Roach much better than people like myself thought?
Thoughts?
I truly believe he didn’t train for this fight
He probably spent more time at the tailor for his outfit than training for Roach
Ya know bro... Getting your hair done can be really stressful! :lol1:
His fanboy gassed him up. Pbc claimed he was the new face of boxing. But the ppv #s tho! Wahid is a good fighter but was never great. His use of clauses, underhanded bs and le issues lost him respect. He's never come close to the ppv #s he did with cRyan. Roach was supposed to be ANOTHER showcase fight. Took a knee in the middle of the fight, hit Roach with multiple low blows and was gifted a draw.
Not to mention a shoulder strike. Didn't even get a warning for it.
The thing about Tank is that as soon as everything in the fight is not under his control, he starts acting out like a child. Low emotional intelligence. He was smart to never fight Lomachenko because he would have quit on his stool 100%.

He had a plan, plus they met in the amateurs so there is always some confidence coming in. Most of Tank's tactics were ineffective and he could not get out of the way of the counter right.
He underestimated without doubt
Roach elevated himself and Davis I think, has lost his hunger and motivation. I also don't know why he added Hunter to his team, I don't think Hunter is that good a coach and there was too many voices in Tank's corner.
His chin and the fact he had the balls to stay in the pocket
Kudos to Roach

Tank is just andre berto
A very good comparison. Berto was undefeated WBC champ fighting nobodies. When he started fighting his true competition, he took his losses, even by stoppages.
Roach came prepared. Rolled with Davis's counter left and countered with his right. Something they clearly worked on. Davis right hook and jab were ineffective plus Roach's chin held up

He usually rehydrates considerably. Is this your first time watching him?
No but I know you hate the guy so I’m gonna take your comments with a grain of salt
I think roach executed a very good fight strategy. That being said, Davis seemed to wait until the 6th round to engage, actually start fighting. I'm not sure the fight would have turned out any differently.
Yes he is, what are you talking about? He usually has a bit of a gut on the scales and he's lost a title on the scales before.
And he’s not far from his usual weight when he fights so ……
