Some dudes will never learn. Tyson had worked his way back from being millions in debt to having a very comfortable net worth of 10m, but after the Jake Paul fight the money immediately burned a hole in his pocket and he bought a 13m mansion.
Just so unnecessary, and you'd think these guys would learn and maybe Tyson would just buy a reasonable house, you know something nice in the 2-3m range, you can get a good enough house for anyone for that, but no....

You cannot lose money because you only sell when prices are high, Ive bought and sold10 properties if you buy at the right price in the right market and sell when the market is high you always gain sometimes a little other times a lot, I bought this run down licensed boarding kennel pre covid for 350k , spent a 100k on it and had it valued recently at 900k , although Im not selling this place will be worth over a mill in a year or two, not a bad profit I must say and when Im gone my kids will get a good leg up in life.
"you only sell when the prices are high"??? so if you cant afford to maintain the property, you can just keep living in that big mansion? LOL
you bought and sold property in the price range that regular folks can afford. you didnt go out and purchase a $13 mil mansion and flip it. let's see how that goes for you.
i already said you can make a profit if you purchase property of lower value then fix it up and sell it for more... but you cant really do that to a $13 mil mansion.
bottom line, that $13 mil mansion will not hold value unless Mike was to pass away or something. but if mike ends up broke and need to sell the mansion a few years from now, he's gonna lose money on it.
hellz no!! not a $13mil mansion. tyson will lose money when it's time to sell it.

Doesn't he make a good deal of money from his weed business? I don't see why any celeb needs a $13M mansion, but to each their own. I imagine the upkeep and taxes for a mansion like that costs hundreds of thousands each year, hopefully he doesn't go broke again and enjoys his life of luxury that he earned.
I doubt Tyson got just $15M for the fight, it reportedly did crazy numbers on Netflix. His actual purse is probably more like 3x that.
And he did not buy this mansion for himself, he bought it for his family, and I doubt it was a decision taken by him alone.
I dont know whats wrong with you guys, you don't lose on Real Estate its an investment that increases in value he hasn't lost any money.
the mansion tyson bought was originally going for $17 mil while it was still under construction... tyson ended up getting it for $13 mil...

this is totally not true... while this may be true for some boxers that are not from the USA, the rest of the other boxers didnt grow up dirt poor, etc..
it's this fake image that they are trying to present themselves in. rappers does it all the time.. soon as they get their first big check, they spend it all on chains, watches, grills, etc..
because social media tells them that they will get more respect and followers if they show off materialistic things.
Okay, maybe not the majority, though many in the US as well grow up poor and get into boxing to change their ways. I know there are the others that want to flaunt it to stand out. Danny Garcia comes to mind, lol. Though I was thinking of the overall big picture including back in the days prior to social media and folks having to show off what they have. Tons of fighters including ones from the US grew up poor and took up the sport to change their lives. It might not be the majority anymore, but it still counts for many.
It's easy to talk on the outside looking in, but you aren't in their mindsets and how they think. The majority of fighters come from nothing at all. The moment they have money, they just see what they can afford based on a price tag and what they have in their bank account. They're not putting much thought into the future or understanding that fighter paychecks are not re-occurring until retirement. They'll get some hot checks early on, but when it's over, it's over. Depending on how they managed that money will determine their future livings.
I agree, as a person on the outside, I would buy something manageable. Something I can easily afford and then know I can continue with the upkeep for years to come. This means paying your town taxes which depending where you live, they can be in the thousands and thousands per year. Knowing you can keep up with things that break over time within the home, etc. etc. I would also like to know I'm secure all the way through retirement to death. Otherwise, what was the point?
I sometimes think of Zab Judah. The dude made millions, but after boxing, he works as a nurse or something at a hospital. Crazy to think he's going to work a "normal" job probably until he's 65. I don't know exactly what he did, but if he had to get a new career after boxing, I think he did something wrong there...

I’m sure he’s making great money off the medicinal pot amongst other stuff he got going
i know he has a marijuana brand but i think he only own part of it..
You sure about that. Go look at some random 10-15m mansions that were sold 5-10 years ago and come back and tell me their worth today. It won't be the same and it won't be less.
very slim chance you will make more than what you paid for... there's not a huge market for folks looking to buy a $13mil mansion... look at all the celebs who
loss money from it... if you wanna buy houses to flip it, you have to buy houses in the range that regular folks can afford. this is how you make money. you buy a fixer upper, spend a few grands on it to remodel it, then sell it for more than you bought it for. but you cant really do that with a $13mil mansion because not everyone is in the market for a $13mil mansion.

Mike Tyson today is in a totally different financial space than he was as a young man when boxing was his only means of income.
He's got Tyson University now & is deep in the medical marijuana industry.
He's got TV shows, movies, and a podcast that makes him money.
Plus, he seems to have a good wife & family around him that watch after him this time.
You can get Tyson strains on medical cannabis in the UK :lol1:
