Not looking good for him going the distance with all these lower tier opponents. hasnt had a KO in 3 years.
another one of his leftovers just got KTFO by some rando up and comer.
You can see why he ducked benavidez like the plague. they are managing him very closely now. looks like he will kiss the ring of the saudi prince and go fight crawford
That's so ******. I dislike carnela as much as the next guy but asking him to fight the winner of that fight is ridiculous. He already lost to bivol (whom they tried to rob) and lucked out against kovalev who was Ina foty candidate just a month prior against yarde. He does not belong at 175. Hrs only doing good at 168 because it's absolute trash
I'm just saying, if he wanted to fight one of them instead of Benavidez, I don't think anyone could reasonably call it ducking.
I'm a Nelo fan, but I'm not going to deny that I think he did dodge Benavidez. It shows you how corrupted pro Boxing is, WBC kept Canelo as Champion for years without him fighting the mandatory. Prob paid that Marco fella a huge large of sums to keep David at bay.. also what I mentioned previously before, the loss to Bivol made him wanting to chase legacy and the big fights
I don think he had to pay marco chit even though marco is corrupt.
WBC gets paid by purse percentage. They already have every incentive to keep the belt in Canelo's hands for as long as possible. No bribe needed. They make more with Canelo having the belt than anyone else. If david took the belt then when he is defending it their revenue is drastically down compared to the canelo days. They are probably over the moon happy too being that 168 was a historically weak division, i mean how many PPV buys has 168 had in the last 20 years before canelo got there? 160 and 175 were the big divisions.
After Floyd it was cherrypick after cherrypick but what really bothered me and stopped me from ever rooting for him was his loud mouth.
Talking of how great he was and he could not even defeat an over the hill GGG in his first 2 fights and the last one looked rigged since Geriartric GGG only fought the last 4 rounds.
Clenelo sucks.
He's artificially extending his career by cherry picking. He's a narcissist and doesn't want to be beaten to a pulp and have his God complex spoiled. Even in his loses to ggg and bivol he claimed he won. When he's dominated and kncked out his whole world will crash down. He wants to keep thr charade up as long as he can that's why he probably fights the french guy

Well you cant blame him, we all get old and wear down he is the twilight of a great career and being a lot more selective how he finishes out because as you say he is not what he was at his very best, its natural ageing.

Been way past it for 3- 4 years. Where you been? Even so, still think he can whip everyone at 168. Benny is the inly challenge and I think he will get EXPLOITED in the next fight. Beni cant make 168 no more and be strong no more.
I'd be happy if he took on the winner of Beterbiev v Bivol 2 as well. That would be a heck of a fight to go out on, if he wants to have one last big challenge.
That would be nice but I think those two guys a naturally bigger and skilled.
Every great fighter has one more great fight in them. Canelo should match up against David if he beats Morrell and go for it. He will have his substantial payday and if he wins he will have a mark in boxing history.

Yep, which is exactly why i LMBAO when people say Canelo "cherry picked" an old GGG for the trilogy. Canelo started boxing professionally in 2005, GGG started in 2006. And how many hard fights has Golovkin had besides his fights with Canelo anyway? Oh yeah, none.
Old GGG my ass.
It's hard to say here. I almost posted the same thread, however in hindsight, Canelo was probably carrying Munguia. He did drop Munguia too and probably could have finished him at some point, but elected not to.
Rather than pointing out the fact that Canelo did not KO him (as I had in an earlier thread a few days ago) , we should probably look into, is Munguia chinny or has his chin finally been cracked from all the clean shots he's taken in prior fights? Granted Surace threw a very hard punch that Munguia did not see which didn't help him. I think we can just say Munguia has always been overrated and this was probably the final straw in his career, at least in terms of achieving great things. Fighting stronger punchers at the highest level is ill advised for him.
there are no more meaningful fights in his weight, david was the WBC mandatory for years and WBC should have striped canelo for not fighting him but that is their cash cow since they get paid a % of the purse they have a conflict of interest. They make more money with Canelo having their belt than David.
Canelo should have fought david years ago at this point. hes openly ducking him. You are not a true boxing fan if you support all this ducking

I agree with him about the mileage being too much, but every athlete goes on the decline in their mid to late thirties. He still has a lot to offer in his tank, but it's just the way of life with age.
He's the cash cow btw and has a huge backing behind him with the fans, media and his name so he can do whatever the **** he wants with the cherry picks. I also think the Bivol loss made him no longer want to chase "legacy" after realising weight classes exist for a reason.
The thing with these fighters is they are not honest.
Canelo claims to be both the best fighter in the world and the best 168 pound fighter. So he has to prove those claims. If he said "Im atleast the second best fighter at 168 but afraid of Bena so its not happening" then he would be in the clear.
Hes the one that made the claim so burden of proof on him to continue to fight the best of his division. If you dont fight the best then dont claim to be the best.
- - U kissing the ring of Bena ain't a good look.
Canelo will be 35 next year with over 500 pro rounds, so yeah lot of training wear and tear but not much boxing wear and tear as he's always been a defensive counterpuncher first and foremost over any other aggressive styles he sometimes uses.
He'll fight Bena when the money and some version of the WBC next year when LH title will be at stake after Beter retires, but of course you'll cry to sleep and wake up clueless yet again...yer welcome...:hitit:
