Tank vs Roach is a joke of a fight. Minimize the damage, increase the pay. Honestly, Floyd changed the texture of boxing for the worse | BoxingScene Community
He's talking about risk/reward type fighting.
Floyd fought most of those dudes when they were in the perfect position to be beaten by him or were vunerable, either by being past their primes, before their primes, or after having been knocked out by somebody else.
Tank doesn't have any name fighters that he could fight who are either past their primes, before their primes, or are vulnerable, who have big names.
All the name fighters around him are in their primes like Shakur, Teo, & Devin.
He already fought Ryan Garcia, who's never had a championship fight
And he just tried to fight Loma at 36 years old, but Loma wasn't having it. :lol1:
Good post
I dont think he's arguing the career from 135 and below
You can't argue it at 140 and above either. Who has Tank faced at the level of Mosley, Pacquiao, or Canelo? The comparison is inaccurate and ignorant. Tank hasn't even beaten anybody better than Judah.

That was Floyd's path to his "legacy". Now fighters don't want to take risks. Ruined the mentality of future fighters and the sport as a whole.
You can't compare Tank's opposition to Mayweather's. That's just ignorant. Mayweather fought and beat opponents on the pound for pound list. Tank never has. Mayweather fought and beat the number one fighters in their division including Corrales, Castillo, Pacquiao, and Canelo. Tank has never done that. It's ridiculous to use Mayweather as an example.
Canelo is the one that should be used as an example of this.
I'm not saying it's a great match up but Shakur Schofield is way worse. He is fighting a prospect with 0 experience fighting at world level.
Roach might be champ at 130 but still a world champ with experience with opponents who were at world level.
You have to consider that fact that Schofield is the highest ranked for the WBA. He was either going to fight another champ or try his mandatory at the WBA. I do think his experience level is low, but he is not an unranked fighter. He is officially contender status. The only way to get experience at world level is to fight a world level fighter. 135 is stacked with them and this is probably his best option (less stain in a loss). Lamont is 130 and he lost to Herring and got a SD vs the guy Tank dominated and ko'ed. As a boxing fan, I know all fights are different, but on paper this fight looks really bad to me. I have no expectation of Roach even being competitive. I don't think Schofield will be either, but at least there is some unknown, considering we haven't seen him on this stage.
At 140 and above Floyd fought DeMarcus Corley, Arturo Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, Miguel Cotto, Robert Guerrero, Canelo Alvarez, Marcos Maidana twice, Manny Pacquiao, and Andre Berto.

Can’t blame Floyd totally. He did fight a very dangerous Canelo, Corrales, Castillo & Judah. All the rest was PERFECTLY timed to be beat by him.
I disagree that it is worse on paper, unless you mean otherwise. They have history, are in the same weight class, and are both undefeated. Roach is a 130lb champion moving up just to fight Tank and go back. Tank is #1 in the division and instead of fighting someone in the top 10 of the division, he is fighting a 130lb champion.

Floyd actually fought great competition, though. He was an annoying diva and a scumbag, but he got in the ring and beat the best fighters in four different divisions. He's one of only two men (the other is Pacquiao) to be lineal king in four weight classes. That doesn't happen by accident. Even lower tier Floyd opponents are better than the best guys Davis has ever faced.
Davis is acting like late career Canelo except he didn't build up the legitimate resume of early to mid career Canelo. He has maybe three or four good wins to his name which is pathetic for a guy with as many years in the sport as Davis has.

Hey now, nothing wrong with some good ole tasty fried chicken every now and them. About once or twice a month is alright without it clogging up your arteries.....
I agree. I have KFC here and there. I always feel gross after a 3 piece chicken tho, but darn ain't it tasty and unhealthy!
Haha you dumb ****wit. What's a casual and ordinary fattie like you going to do to get Tank and his team to face top quality opposition? NOTHING. You have no power, no name, no connections in the business. You can comment 1000x all you like on Tank's page to get him to fight top opponents and your comments would still be ignored. Heck, a million, billion, trillion times, it will still be ignored.
WHY? BECAUSE YOU'RE A NOBODY YOU FAT AMERICAN FRIED CHICKEN LOVER

If Tank wants to retire after this sh!t fight, so be it. History won't remember him. Then he'll realize in the future that he wasted his talents when he had a lot more left to give.
Edwin DeLos Santos could have been a far better pick. And Wahid would still be competing with Shakur in terms of comparing their performances against a common opponent. And that's exactly it would have been marketed as a selling pitch -- "Would Abdul be able to do it better than Shakur?"
So who is to blame other than Davis for this fight happening?

I agree with everything but the Floyd being a scumbag part.
Lmfao what? Speak for yourself bltch
