...will Fast Eddie and Princess Joshy come calling for another dance with the mighty Oilskin Parker after jobbing him of his belt 6 years ago and spurning him since ?
Is Parker an easy beat for Joshua compared to Fury or Dubois ? I mean, does anyone still think AJ beats Parker in a rematch ?
By my reckoning, 2024 Parker is a beast. 2024 Joshua is a pu$$y.
No contest. PARKER: Flawless victory!!!
I'd also be equally as worried about Doobies face first defense. He copped some shots from Joyce, Usyk, Miller, Hrgy and even Joshy landed one.
At the current rate he'll be Chisora levels of punch drunk before hitting 30!
Agreed. The reason I mentioned it with respect to Parker rather than DDD was that Dubois has the power, and Parker doesn't. But you're right that he doesn't seem to know what head movement is, and leaves his face right on the center line to be hit all night. But he does have the power to drop or stop in one hit, and that's a great equalizer.
This is what I'm thinking too, coupled with Dubois' speed. His speed shocked AJ. Think the speed coupled with the volume punching you mention might do the same to overwhelm Parker's on-paper superior boxing.
Hope not. Can't wait to see..
Work the levels and make him miss. Get in and out and never get caught in the pocket. Doobie doesn't miss with his headbutts.
Doobie sits down and loads up on just about everything which messes up his footwork. Even off balance he can crack though.
Parker and Lee have got their work cut out, but with a game plan to minimize Parker's shortcomings while maximizing Doobies, im pretty sure they'll go the distance for a hard fought win...
...or Parker's getting splattered in spectacular fashion, but i doubt it.
Excellent reparte here! You both make great points. Parker is one of those that George Bernard Shaw described when he asked why youth was wasted on the young (Some people attribute this to Shakespear lol)... I mean here is a wizened Polynesian Pugilist who has learned from his rashness, his youth, but alas, his prime strength is yielding to father time.
Parker is admirable for what he has accomplished and I hope he is able to stick around a few more years. he is taking on some tough young lions, no doubt...
With Dubious? I actually think Parker has the style to beat the big men. Sort of like Chris Byrd used to do. His task is not really to have a great chin so much as not get caught on the chin.
Pasifikan bone density and fast muscle twitch will only get you so far. Parker's hands aint as fast as they used to be but the chin is still holding up.
Doobie is gonna make or break him. Either way he's done us proud and there's always Jai and Teremoana coming through to tide us over.
I'm hoping Father time takes the night off, gets shït faced at a bar, flakes out in the corner and awakens to...
...and new IBF Champion of the World, The Mighty Oilskin Parker!
The problem in this fight for Parker in my opinion might be that Dubois throws more volume than Wilder or Zhang.
Parker is going to have to fight at a different pace than in those two fights. Hrgovic has had gas tank issues but he got exhausted throwing the kitchen sink at Dubois trying to keep him back.

Parker is really on form right now. But, he's taken a lot of damage vs Joyce and Zhang, not to mention a few more KD's vs Chisora and Whyte. Getting dropped by big men like that doesn't just go away, and Dubois can crack too. I would pick Parker by decision, but DDD is on form too, and has the power to change the fight.
Indeed. If Parker gets the AJ treatment by Doobie he may as well stick a fork in his career and retire to Samoa or focus on getting David 'Nyika With Attitude' to world class Cruiser levels.

Parker is not Hrgy or Joshy. He's not going to fight like them. I expect Doobie to fight the same though. Headbutts and swinging for the rafters.
So please answer me this...
Do you think Doobie is going to knock Parker out and if so when; early in the fight, mid rounds, late ?
Yeh, I think Parker l
gets stopped late. possibly. But points more likely

Since he's been mentioned, I was just wondering what happened to Hrgovic after the Dubois loss. Haven't heard so much as a boo to a goose from him.
Them eyes is gonna take a lot of healing. Hopefully it hasn't deterred him in the long run.
I'd like to see him test young Itauma, J Anderson or Bakole when hes ready to step up again.

Amen to that. Definitely think he's got the right style to win a lot of big fights. I don't think he beats Usyk, and might struggle with Kabayel, but I'd favor him to get a decision win over most of the rest of the division that's willing to fight him. Nice Shaw reference. He's got a lot of great sayings, some of which are really on point these days, particularly about democracy.
I think Dubois has turned the page following his destruction of AJ but I certainly wouldn't rule out Parker either given the great little run he's been on as of late. Nobody really gave him a shot to beat Wilder or Zhang and he pulled off the upset BOTH times. Also, he was able to use his superior boxing skills and work rate to outpoint Zhang (despite going down twice) and the Dubois fight could play out in a similar manner.
Another GREAT matchup!
Parker can box and is better at it than Dubois.
Dubois is by far the more accomplished, headbutter, low blower and quitter.
I get that you can't argue a point and need to resort to insults but please, do try. You're just embarrassing yourself otherwise.
I wont be resonding to you again. Have a great day!
Parker can run. But if he gets touched... Expect him to be splattered on the floor. You saw it v Joyce, you saw it v Zhang. He's no better than he ever was. If anything he's worse thanks to that chin of his.
No power. No chin. Great running shoes though.

Imo , DDD needs to knock him out to win this fight
He certainly not going to outbox Parker
And if that happens it’ll be a late stoppage
That’s taking into consideration of DDD’s stamina problems , hoping he comes in shape to pursue his goal
DDD is favourite and should win. Parker has got 1 very good win of late and now everyone thinks hes a world beater? Parker has improved for sure, but DDD has got even better wins of late. Flip and Josh is better than just a zhang win.....ok then and whats left of Wilder

He can run, I'll agree with you there.
The rest of what you say is just your wet dreams and wishes.
He better have his running boots on.

It's not wishful thinking. It's proven fact.
If Parker's chin were cracked it would have continued to be after the brutal knockout he suffered from Joyce. That knockout took 11 rounds to happen.
His chin has held up with no problems since even after copping Zhang's best shots.
The first flash knockdown from Zhang early was legit. First thing Parker did was signal his corner to show he was ok. The 2nd knockdown was a push down on the back of the head and shouldn't have counted.
Neither did any damage and Zhang couldn't capitalize to finish the job. Instead Parker outboxed a fading and gassed Zhang to cruise to an easy points win.
No doubt Doobie has the power to K.O anyone, but Parker isnt gonna stand and trade to just let him. That's not his game. He'll outbox Dubois and win unless the ref and judges are crooked.

Dubois can hurt parker bad. I don't think parker is a big puncher, but he can box better than dubois. They have strengths and weakness that cancel each other out.
