A case can be made that Canelo deserved to lose the first fight (he didn’t on the official cards) but the second one not so much.

That's why Canelo waited 4 more years and dragged him up to 168 for the trilogy. That's the only way he could get a win without a scorecard robbery. Bam Bam is the more notable fighter. Ennis needs more activity and exposure. Being a belt holder nowadays doesn't carry the same weight.
