(I don't consider wipe outs to be good fights) -
Chico vs JLC 1
GFOAT !!!!!!
If it were a movie, it would have swept the Oscars
SRL vs Hearns (even better than Hagler vs Hearns)
Talk about role reversal -
The boxer became the puncher and vice versa
MAB vs Erik trilogy
Nuff said !
Holy vs Bowe trilogy
Especially the Fan Man fight
Sergio vs Williams 1
Pure pugilistic enjoyment :boxing:
Nelo vs GGG 1-2
Competitive but not as close as people (haters) make them out to be
JMM vs Pac 1
Down 3x in the 1st rd ?!?!?
No problem
LFG !!!!
Gatti vs Ward 1
A glorified club fighter vs an actual club fighter
Of course it was action packed.
I'm sure I'll be back and add some
Current - Bam Rodriguez, Monster Inoue
All Time - Roberto Duran, Mike Tyson
Favorite Fights
1. Roberto Duran vs Sugar Ray Leonard 1
2. Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. vs Meldrick Taylor
3. Roberto Duran vs Iran Barkley
4. Roberto Duran vs Davey Moore
5. Salvador Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez
Honorable mention - Felix Trinidad vs Fernando Vargas
Fights that didn't happen - Too many to list but my number 1 missed fight is Alexis Arguello vs Salvador Sanchez.
This warms my heart. I was a big "AC Express" fan because I grew up in South Jersey and always supported the local fighters. I remember thinking he had a puncher's chance against Tyson and was heartbroken when he was blown out in a round. Same night Tupac was killed too...
Seldon was my favorite heavyweight at the time, I too thought he had an excellent chance of beating Tyson also, he was agile, fast, powerful and that jab was something else
He beat down Joe Hipp with just that beautiful jab
But just like the bowe fight, he was mentally beat before the first punch was ever thrown vs Tyson
If he had the mentality of Holyfield with his physical gifts he would be an all time great imho
I remember Bobby Chez commenting and saying “if I was built like Seldon I would be afraid of nothing and nobody” lol
- Favorite Current Fighters : Subriel Matias , BAM Rodriguez , The Monster Naoya Inoue
- Favorite All Time Fighters : Tito Trinidad , Iron Mike Tyson , PAC ,
- Favorite Fights : Corrales vs Castillo 1 , Gatti vs Ward 1, Barrera vs Morales 1 , Jirov vs Toney , Ibeabuchi vs Tua , (Trinidad run at 154)
- Fights That Didn't Happen : Trinidad vs Quartey , Trinidad vs Mosley , Lewis vs Bowe
I don't necessarily think all pressure fighters are maulers not doing think all maulers are pressure fighters. To be honest, i would argue Lomachenko is a pressure fighter of sorts. He uses footwork and angles to create mental and physical pressure..
I like all kinds of fighters but I like fighters who bring violence and excitement. That's why I chose the term maulers when I wrote that post. This thread is a fun one and I wasn't thinking too hard when I typed.
so a buff guy like Beterbiev would be a power pressure MAULER?!
while ggg with his incredibly clean technique is not
what makes a pressure fighter into a MAULER?!

Current: Derek Chisora, Naoya Inoue
Former: Arturo Gatti, Angel Manfred, Oba Carr, Livingstone Bramble
Fight: Barrios/Freitas, Oullette/Hilton, Gatti/Ward, De La Hoya/Vargas
While I appreciate skilled boxing, I tend to prefer maulers. For fights, I like where there is genuine bad blood or some regional rivalry. Barrios/Freitas was Brazil vs Argentina, Oullette vs Hilton was a Canadian showdown, Oscar and Feroz was bad blood and Gatti/Ward were just pure violence.what makes a pressure fighter into a MAULER?!
All time- Roy Jones jr, Marc “Too Sharp” Johnson, Evander Holyfield, Sugar Ray Leonard, Orlando Canizales and Bruce Seldon (when Bruce had his mind together he was a talented heavyweight)
Current- Boots and Bam
I have been watching boxing for over 50 years so I have too many favorite fights to list or remember

Chavez vs Rosario was also another good one. Tho it was more of a one sided beatdown
Good call, I was only about 10 or 11 when that one went down but I remember reading about it in the old boxing magazines I would buy.
Chavez vs Rosario was one of those great PR vs Mexico matchups that seemed to have legitimate bad blood. Those types of fights often seem to generate a little extra violence and tension.
