People always say Mayweather ruined boxing but say it for the wrong reasons and never mention how PAC damaged it too. They both hurt boxing unintentionally and this is how.
Mayweather hurt boxing because he made future fighters infatuated with huge paydays. The difference is that Mayweather worked, sacrificed and grinded his way to becoming Money May. And even then, he was fighting the best out there. People forget about how commentators used to throw dirt on his name about how he was p4p #1 but he wasn’t a draw. Mayweather was ducked by the top fighters/promoters because he was high risk/low reward, including Mosley and Cotto(Bob Arum) who he beat later. Fighters only see the rewards of Floyd and skip past wanting to put in the work. They choose the easiest competition available and don’t care anything about their resume. Bud is a perfect example. The best don’t want to fight the best, they want winnable fights for big money.
Pacquaio hurt boxing because IN PART his name was built off being attached to Mayweather. Now these fighters do the same without building their own legacy. Benavidez attached to Canelo. Shakur attached to Tank. Bud was attached to Spence. THE DIFFERENCE is that Pac actually fought the best fights and built his own legacy without needing Mayweather. But these fighters don’t do that, they keep relevance by attaching their name to the more popular fighter, and take c and b level fights until hopefully they get a fight with the more popular fighter. They want the big buildup like Mayweather-Pacquiao and the huge payday but they want to cherry-pick their way to it.
Boxing is dying and guys like Jake Paul can come and do better numbers than actually champions because boxing is so weak. It’s weak because these guys just won’t fight the best.
"Margarito was never on a level where he was a serious threat to Floyd."

Indeed! Next time learn to read... Idiot. The statement you quoted is correct. And what this has to do with all the garbage you posted?:lol1:
Hey idiot... When did I say Floyd never ducked a fighter? Show me please and I will send you roses idiot. I even went so far as to tell you several times, I think Floyd did Duck! Do you read the posts? I never needed to use any cover... How does a great fighter like JMM compare to A very good, solid fighter like Margarito? And then it starts lol... What are you on about WW? What point are you addressing regarding whether Floyd ducked Margarito, or not? Totally insane gibbirish about God only knows.
I am insulting you because you are acting like an idiot... You have some hair brained idea about triangle theory and Floyd which I want no part of, and has nothing to do with our debate which has to do with margarito and Floyd and whether DESPITE FLOYD DUCKING OPPONENTS IN THE PAST, Floyd COULD BE SAID TO HAVE DUCKED MARGARITO. Are you capable of staying on point? Because I do not give two shiats about how good you think JMM is compared to Pac... I already said, if you do not think JMM is a great fighter, we can agree to disagree and it has nothing to do with Floyd ducking Margarito ANYWAY!

No you are the idiot for thinking that Floyd never ducked a fighter and you use the Floyd JMM fight as cover for that, because Pac got kayoâd later on. Like I said there is nothing that indicate that JMM would tear through WW like Pac did, but that particular fight was a good match up for JMM because his bread and butter is counterpunching which is only effective because Pac is aggressive and takes chances and they are similar sized, if he wouldâve fought fully sized WWs like Pac did he wouldâve had many losses, and you think this is NOT the case, each his own. Atleast State your case and donât hide behind insults.

No sir. I am not an advocate for triangle theory I can assure you. You have to be kidding me you say yourself that JM was competitive with Pacquiao... What is your problem? You even state it. Lol.
And no... I'm not saying anything that you think is implied I'm saying exactly what I'm saying. You know what? You're kind of an idiot. I'm going to end this okay? I don't know where you come up with this crap.
I was talking about a workman like fighter and whether Floyd could be accused of ducking Margarito specifically I don't know what the hell you're on about lol.

What you do is that you are making triangle theories on the basis that Pac was dominating the division, but JMM landed that punch although all the fights up until that KO were competitive, and could have been the other way around as well. Then you use JMM as the scapegoat win that undo everything that Pac has done, altough JMM never did anything remotely similar afterwards or before. Then use that snapshot as an excuse for why Floyd never needed to clean out the division ? With this line of thinking you are admitting that Pac did all the work and that other fighters live through the resume of Pac.

? Okaaaay. Are we talking about the same fighter? Lol. I totally disagree with you about jm....

No... that is not what I am doing at all... Every fighter fights guys who are good. Even when fighters fought fellow ATG's and divisions were stacked, great fighters would fight workmanlike fighters. Your arguing that because Mayweather did likewise, there is some reason why margarito should be included, and/or, that Mayweather has a similar resume to Margarito which is ridiculous.
The first point? margarito was on the level of Maidana, Guerrero, etc yes, would people say Mayweather ducked ortiz? Maidana? probably not... I mean if Mayweather did not want to fight any of the above (excepting JMM) would he be accused of ducking?
The second point? You can read Mayweather's resume where he fought Canelo for example...
Did you call JMM ordinary? a bum!? Thats crazy talk.
Pac already had an ATG resume before he fought JMM, JMM had nothing at WW, just that one punch but could JMM have teared through the WW divison like Pac ? Nothing indicates that, something you are trying to convey here by making JMM a bigger deal than he actually was.
You are defending those Guerrero, Jmm, Ortiz, Maidana fights but they were all bums. Says it all really.

It's not about triangle theories, it's about you saying JMM was a bum and had no resume at welterweight. JMM knocking out Pacquiao was the best win at welterweight in the last 20 years.
JMM never was a boogey man at WW. At the lower divisions, sure.
Triangle theories Maidana lost to Kotelnik.

JMM went on to have a SD with a prime Bradley, beat Mike Alvarado in Fight of the year and accomplished the best feat of any fighter at welterweight when he KO'd Pacquiao.
Triangle theories Maidana lost to Kotelnik.
Clottey, another fully fledged WW that Floyd ducked in spite of those smaller 140 fighters w all those numerous losses nobody asked for, Cotto had all the problems in the world dealing with Clottey. The Clottey of back then would beat Ennis with ease at 147 in the current era.
The same clottey that loss to baldomir?
Man please
and yet we never got prime floyd v prime pac
mosley & cotto were late and other big fights never happened as well
floyd was like canelo is now, whoever he fought gets him what he wanted, i think
Floyd never fought guys who never been champion on ppv like canelo.
No ryders and berlangas on Floyd ppv resume
At welterweight they had no resumes , we’re unproven and came from smaller weights.
