We all knew going in that the matchups stunk, but you never know until it all actually plays out. Well, the results are in; and the stench of one of — if not the — worst boxing PPV cards of all time is thick in the air. Rolly just sucks; and the fact that he won means we have to put up with his nonsense for longer than we should. Lara-Garcia was beyond pathetic — even worse than anyone imagined. Canelo-Berlanga was the utter mismatch everyone knew it would be. Does anyone doubt now why Saul has avoided Benavidez? Plant-McCumby was simply nowhere near enough to justify this joke of a PPV. Fans must vote with their feet and walk away from these ridiculous products we’re being offered. $90 for a bag of hot garbage? Haha No thanks.
Haha I was appreciative of your post until your last sentence. Perhaps I don’t remember all that as well as you do because I’m not a DSG fan. Not everyone remembers to the tee what happens with every fighter.
I am a DSG fan. Which is why I said what I said in my initial post. They missed an opportunity
The clip I sent you was floyd saying he likes danny and his father and he could choose undefeated danny garcia and take the canelo vs khan date if he wants to. So thats 2015-2016
2nd clip is the media asking angel is floyd next immediately after the Matthysse fight in rhe post fight presser. 2013.
A youtube search proves what I'm saying on danny vs Mayweather. Its all a decade old. It's at least 30 videos of the media talking to danny and agel about floyd. And that's because we all thought it was happening.
Floyd vs danny was supposed to be after canelo. But team garcia wanted to do a fight in Puerto Rico to keep building danny towards the Mayweather fight. Danny fought Herrera in april 2014. Floyd fought maidana in may 2014. Team garcia were looking towards the September 2014 date to fight floyd. Instead danny got a gift in Puerto rico and the momentum died there.
Which is why maidana got the rematch in September 2014. The danny option lost its luster due to the controversy with Herrera and maidana fought floyd close in the 1st fight.
if you wasn't watching boxing back then, just say that...

The link won’t work. This site doesn’t allow links to other boxing sites. I’d like to hear what Floyd had to say on this issue, because I wouldn’t believe it any other way. As I said before, Danny fought for another two years at 140. If Mayweather was offering, I don’t see why the Garcias would turn that kind of opportunity down.

Because danny was the hottest name from 140 to 147 not named Pacquiao at the time. And he just co main Floyd card. And got the biggest win of his career. He was the perfect choice for floyd. Angel turned it down. Next man up was maidana

What don’t you understand? Danny didn’t move up to 147 for another two years after Matthysse. More importantly, Mayweather fought whomever he wanted. Why would he have chosen Garcia?

Angel said Al mentioned it to team garcia and angel said not just yet turned it down. 2014-2015 floyd vs danny was a possibility.

I thought that was the highest point of his career. When they put that main event-worthy fight on the co-feature, fans were stoked.
It would’ve made him so much money but I don’t think it was ever up to him. Garcia always seemed like the type to have a John Ruiz type of demeanor. Whatever Haymon and PBC wanted to do (or him to do), he obliged.
And as much as we could criticize Danny, the onus was always on Floyd to pick him. Nobody ever picked Floyd, Floyd picked you.
Exactly. It was Danny's peak. And it was rumors that he would move up to fight Floyd after that big win. Instead he went to Puerto Rico and got a gift against Herrera and the danny train was never the same.
i think floyd would have picked danny over maidana if it was a option. They wanted to build by going to Puerto Rico first. Thats how maidana got the first fight. and then it backfired. And thats how maidana got the rematch on the date instead. Danny vs floyd was supposed to happen in 2014. Danny was chosen and blew it

I thought Khan might’ve been a fluke. Matthysse was another matter. That was definitely Garcia’s best win. But although Danny was certainly a solid fighter, he could never quite find that next gear. Everyone has their limits. I always thought Garcia did everything he could with what he had. That’s something to be proud of.
Yeah, last night’s PPV was rough. I was really hoping for something exciting, but it was a total letdown. Rolly winning just adds to the frustration, and the other fights didn’t help at all. $90 for that? I’m with you—fans need to show they won’t settle for this kind of junk.
I'll never understand how he didn't fight mayweather next after beating matthysse on the mayweather/Canelo undercard

I didn’t even bother stealing it until the main event was beginning and I wasn’t asleep yet lol.
Amazon can’t be pleased with this venture.
By then you already missed the best fight.
Can't wait to see FatDan's PPV fake, madeup result for this fight. He'll report it did 500K to 600K, mark my word. The PBC shill is applying a threshold where fans are still able to say, "it's not bad."
LMBAO......Tell me you make five figures without telling me you make five figures....
$90 is usually what I tip my waitress at the restaurants me and the missus dine in at.
It's time to reacess your career paths gentlemen.
Talking about other peoples earning potential when you can't spell "reassess" is really rich.
Those of us that make real money and aren't idiots don't blow it on fanboy shit like a Canelo sparring session.

This was a TREMENDOUS ppv. Absolutely incredible! The likes of which you have never seen. We really have the best people running our PPVs. Incredible people. The best people. We have Al Haymon handling our PPVs. Nobody else could do anything like this. Its unbelievable. Other people have tried it, and they were total disasters. Failures on every level. Complete catastrophies. But not ours. Ours was just incredible. The best you've ever seen. We made PPV great again!!!
Thanks Al Haymon!!!
First Canelo fight I haven’t bought in years.
You always kind of hope whether you buy it or not that the fights turn out better than expected, but PBC has a major dud with those fights.
The Garcia bout bummed me out. It ends not with a ****, but a whimper. Danny and his dad seemed just submissive and like they wanted to not only NOT be in the fight, but they wanted to just get away from the arena but the sport of boxing in general.
Garcia looks like his crisis or mental illness stems from financial obligations (kids) and probably a sense of having to hoist up his family (dad, mom, sisters) additionally.
He said in interviews that when he retires his FATHER would have a harder time walking away.
The combination of inactivity, not having his hunger anymore, and age all caught him up to him. I don’t think people would be upset in the slightest if he had gone out there and at least tried. It felt like a casual “let me see if I still got it. Maybe I can still—*WHAP!*
Oh!…Never mind. Yeah, I’m done.”
I wish him the best.
I loved how he basically had two major upsets in Khan and Matthysse and then underperformed in his biggest fights.
I honestly think he was just a company man and followed Haymon’s suggestions to a tee.
The highly unnecessary Rod Salka fight and long layoffs were also a big knock on him.
I'll never understand how he didn't fight mayweather next after beating matthysse on the mayweather/Canelo undercard

Good for you. Lol Not everyone has it like that. The point is that $90 is far too much for the product offered. Both prince and pauper understand that concept.

NINETY dollars, brother. Mind boggling how anyone could be happy with that. But well-deserved if you thought it was a good idea to begin with.
Oh wow, I obviously watched it another way lol.... That is just absurd.
You're right, they should be thrilled with that $80 garbage card lol
What makes it worse is that next week's AJ/Dubois is $20 USD, whereas Canelo/Berlanga was $90. I'm not ecstatic over AJ/Dubois' undercard and Smith dropped out due to illness, but $20 is a pittance.
