How do y’all feel about this fight? Mbilli is only half an inch taller than Bud with a short reach. He’s ranked #1 with the WBC and top 3 in the other organizations. He’s strong at and even stockier than Canelo. If Bud beats him, that would eliminate all the talk of Bud being too small for Canelo and it being a mismatch. Now, on the other hand, it’s a biiiiig risk because Mbilliis super strong and overwhelms opponents. Bud likes a slower paced fight, Mbilli won’t give him that. But it’s definitely a winnable fight. What ya think?
Why didn’t Benavidez ever unify? He was a temporary champ at 168 for a while. The belts didn’t matter until the Canelo payday was attached
Kind of like Canelo at 154, 160 and 168 until Benavidez got stripped. You know he wouldn’t have attempted undisputed if he saw a strong champ at 168.
Why didn't canelo ever fight the number 1 guy should be the question you are asking. Instead you are fabricating goalposts for him to jump through that no one else has had to do. Simply being thr best opponent and best fighter at 168 ovrr the last 5 years isn't good enough. You can always find things to criticize any fighter but that doesn't change the fact he's been the best opponent for canelo for 4 to 5 years now
The crazy part is that Benavidez has moved up and people still talking about Canelo and saying nothing about him vs Bivol/Beterbiev winner.

Canelo came to 168 and took every belt 1 by 1. Where was Benavidez? I’m not moving the goal post, I’m stating facts. Benavidez won a vacant title, never unified, then lost it. The only reason people want him to fight Canelo is because they see it as a fight Canelo could lose. Okay fine. Morrell has been the best opponent for Benavidez for 2 years and has been calling him out. Do you have the same energy for Benavidez or does it only apply to Canelo.

Canelo fans love doing this too.
"Who cares if Benavidez has been mandatory for 3 years and Morell has been for 1.5 years. They need to fight eachother to see who deserves the Canelo fight"
Or they could just fight each other to start cementing their own legacy. That’s the problem, everybody looking for a lottery ticket instead of becoming the lottery ticket

Doesn't help that these fans base their road blocks on Canelo's answers and he repeatedly contradicts himself.
They also are trying to push narratives like let's say "Why didn't Benavidez/Morrell activate his mandatory in the last 2-3 years, he is just using Canelo's name for clout and doesn't actually think he can beat Alvarez". Even though only the sactioning bodies can activate it.
What makes you think that he would get the Canelo fight if he beats Mbilli? Sounds like you’re a scared Canelo fan putting up pointless road blocks for Canelo, lmao,

It would be ****** to jump to 168 for anything other than a Canelo fight.
If he can't get the Canelo paycheck his priorities should be:
1. Fundora, then the Tszyu/Murtazaliev winner to be undisputed+lineal at 154 (would be the 3rd 4-division lineal champ ever, 1st 3 division undisputed since the IBF)
2. Pick up a strap at 160 against the Lara/Garcia winner to become a 5 division world titlist (would be the 6th 5-division world titlist ever)
First priority is paychecks, second priority is legacy. Fighting random dudes at 168 is pointless.
Those fights aren’t going to give him the paychecks he wants. He only made 2.5m vs Madrimov.
The man is 37 years old and hasn't quite made the money that he wants to make before he bows out, hence the desire to fight Alvarez. However, fighting young, big guys isn't a guaranteed path to Canelo. Bud risks injury and even a loss. He's too old for that.
Crawford brings too much risk for Canelo that’s why he’s asking for 150M. In my opinion I think Bud beats Canelo, I’m not positive Canelo beats Madrimov.
Canelo fans said that if Benavidez and Andrade wanted a shot, they should stop calling out Canelo and fight each other. So they did, but then Canelo ducked anyway and his fans defended him.
Now you're using the exact same routine with Crawford and Mbilli "if they face each other, for sure Canelo will face the winner" even though Canelo didn't do that the last time his fans used that line.
I know you Canelo fans have to keep swallowing shit and pretending it tastes good, but you can't expect us sane people to do the same. You guys already told us that Canelo calls the shots and fights who he wants, so don't pretend like he wants tougher fights. Nobody is going to 'earn' a Canelo shot because the more you achieve, the less willing he is to fight you. His fans know this and even celebrate it.
It’s not pointless. The point would be to secure the Canelo fight which is what he really wants. Those 3 fights you listed wouldn’t get him half the payday as 1 Canelo fight. And you’re taking about another 2 years of fighting, he’s made it clear he’s ready to retire. If he beat Mbilli, he will for sure be the next Canelo fight.

Why would/does Bud have to fight this guy to get the Canelo fight?
TC is not fighting any other 168 outside of Canelo, it's Canelo he thinks he can beat its not beating 168 guys, look how much smaller Canelo is than Berlanga, the whole thing is TC thinks he can beat Canelo, that's it. No warm ups , no testing the water, he wants to uses his reputation to go straight into a Canelo fight.

That is the right exit plan.
if no canelo. And Danny beats Lara tomorrow. I wouldn't even bother unifying 154. I'm going straight to Danny at 160 and retiring
but if Lara wins. Then I unify 154 like you lined out instead

Crawford is essentially retired. He's not fighting Fundora who he petitioned for just few months ago. WBO ordered the fight and T Bud now says he has no interest in fighting Fundora. He uses names to bide time. He also has no interest in fighting Ortiz or Tszyu. But he has to use Canelo's name as a escape route.
