Than Canelo is of Benavidez, in the history of the sport? Would be interested in some examples. I can't think of any. We know Bowe dumped the belt to duck Lewis but there was nowhere near as much money and demand for that fight, so I don't think its as bad as this. Canelo knows this is the biggest fight to make in the sport, his biggest pay day, and that everyone thinks he's ducking David for years, yet he still ducked him!
''Nelo is an absolute beast and here are the W's to prove it :boxing: !!!!!''

If Benny was the "cash cow" of boxing, I'd judge him, just like I judged Floyd Mayweather or Anthony Joshua before him.
Everyone keeps ducking my scenario :lol1:
There would be no Nelo fans if he had Benny's resume !
We won''t have worry about anyone judging Benny since he will never be a cash anything.
Fighting someone is half the issue. WINNING is the main issue. Nelo was not guaranteed anything.
You still refuse to admit that if Nelo had Benny's resume, you would give him the same respect.
Theres plenty of room under that microscope of judgement.

Well "Benny' isn't boxing's cash cow & able to fight who he wants whenever he wants, so of course he wouldn't get respect.
That's why we're so critical of Tank Davis.
Fighters who can fight who they want SHOULD have big names on their resume.

1) Maidana's performance, while admirable, was pure ineffective aggression. His options were extremely limited. Haters say he was robbed in the 1st fight :lol1:
2) OK, then.
3) I find it odd how an unproven fighter, let's use Benny as an example, can have a sub par resume but more respect :lol1:

The reason why certain folk get carried away, with a particular type of fighter 'Is because they have very easy and admirable traits. I.E Aggression or being some sort of pressure fighter'.
People are acting like David Benavidez is some sort of Mike Tyson type fighter 'The reality is? His offense and agression is nowhere near the level of Mike Tyson'.
As I have stated in my previous posts, fighters like David Benavidez have existed in all boxing era's 'Especially in this modern era'.
Each boxing era always consist of those type of fighters, who are aggressive and ingratiate themselves with the raw competitive instincts of people in society or boxing community. There is a attraction, and fascination with competitive violence. And whatever fighters mold their game around maximum aggression and violence, they are always going to have a certain level of popularity and people will over exaggerate their abilities'.
Note: The issue David Benavidez has, is that? Just being aggressive, or relying upon being the big man on fight night 'Has historically not been enough, to become a genuine all-time great fighter. Or even a elite level fighter in all boxing era's'.
There was more than just aggression with Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Nigel Benn, Roberto Duran, Henry Armstrong, Jack Dempsey, Joe Frazier 'Is there that more with David Benavidez? I have not witnessed or observed a high level of sophistication with his agression or offense to date'.
Benavidez is for sure a World level fighter, but his entire game heavily relies upon his agression 'And being the big man on fight night. Benavidez outside of those attributes, in my opinion? Would really find it difficult in many past boxing era's, to be a top level fighter. Especially in the era's, when boxing was using the same day weigh in rule'.
Skill for skill David Benavidez is not a Elite level fighter 'Where as we know, that Canelo Alvarez does have certain aspects of his game which are Elite level. Even still at this stage of his career, and definitively at his peak'.
I have always been adamant that David Benavidez vs a Canelo Alvarez in solid form 'Benavidez has the ability to make the fight competitive, but not enough ability in the specific area's to actually win rounds consistently vs Canelo Alvarez'.
To conclude: Anybody that knows boxing, and understands how styles can effect the competition. They will be aware right now, that the match up between David Benavidez vs Canelo Alvarez 'Is stylistically a fight straight up Canelo Alvarez street. A solid in condition Canelo Alvarez in my opinion, would just have too much ability to win rounds consistently while displaying a by far superior defense.
David Benavides is a solid enough fighter, the match up between Benavidez and Alvarez is mega fight 'But stylistically on the real, it is not the most formidable challenge for Canelo Alvarez when he is in solid form' etc.
I agree wholeheartedly. I think these are just different stages people who watch boxing go through. If you watch it long enough, you see that power DOES bring attention and a more visceral attraction, and it’ll draw the eyes of a bigger audience, which in turn a large portion will embellish and exaggerate.
When I was at the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, I watched that fight in a bar full of all types of people. The sheer ignorance that I overheard made my stomach turn.
”Mike Tyson would beat both of them!”
“Why doesn’t Floyd just knock him out?!”
”No three knockdown rule?! These are weird fucking rules, man!”
These types of fights that crossover into mainstream are always both amusing from a spectacle perspective and cringe-inducing because of what you hear newcomers spew.
For real.
Remember when Edison Miranda looked like the upcoming boogeyman of 160 and ran into The Ghost?
Or when Nicholas Walters took out Donaire and looked like THE guy and then ran into Loma?
Or when fans saw Jarrett Hurd coming up and overwhelming opponents with his engine swearing he was an African American version of Antonio Margarito before realizing there’s holes in the armor?
They’re in love with power.
I see Benavidez getting too much into his head (and being too limited in his arsenal) that it’ll work against him and he won’t be able to perform well enough to beat Canelo. I just can’t.

Let's not forget ''ATG in the making'' Jeff Left Hook Lacy :lol1:
One Time/Sometime/Part Time had brief success
If I were Nelo, I wouldn't let trash talk dictate who I fought.
In fact, I'd treat all loudmouths like May did Khan.
Keep them hanging on for that big payday that never was going to come :boxing:
Nelo vs Benny could go 1 of 2 ways -
Nelo humbles him
Or
Benny catches Nelo in retirement mode and wins a UD (been in the game since 15. 65 fights later, maybe he has lost a step or that hunger)
Nelo fought Biv to a UDL (partially due to Nelo not having a great night at the office)
Ended Benny's best win, Plant
Fought and beat Kov, ( > DooDoo)
Fought and beat Mungy ( > LeMeh)
Fought and beat Ryder ( +/- Gvoz)
Fought and beat BHS ( > everyone Benny fought)
And somehow, he's afraid of Benny :dunno:
Jeff Lacy is one of the shining examples of the US putting its foot COMPLETELY in its mouth and looking dumb as hell thinking they were going to cross the pond and beat a guy who already had more than a dozen title defenses at the time because a muscle head had pop. American bias right there. Also, how idiotic is it to have your best weapon in your nickname? If you want less attention and to hold on to that element of surprise, you don’t go around announcing your opponents what they need to look out for. Doesn’t matter anyway, Calzaghe/Lacy is up there as one of the most utterly one sided ass shoppings of all time over 12 rounds. Maximum mental damage. 12-0 and a knockdown to boot. Yech:footinmou.
You could also add Tavoris Cloud in there as a power puncher that didn’t really do much even though HBO and Don King were pushing him.
Kelly Pavlik I probably wouldn’t put him in the category. He at least had a couple of big wins over Jermaine Taylor…though it seems for the most part punchers like these get whitewashed in their first loss or severely outpointed. Pavlik was taken to school by an ancient Hopkins and then befuddled big time by Sergio Martinez.
The fan boys don't understand that if Benavidez is exposed in the future, it won't change the fact that Canelo ducked him, and will infact make his duck look worse. That he ducked a hype job! lol
For real.

He has the resume for it :boxing:

The main reason I wanted the fight was because Canelo has all the belts. Would be nice to see Canelo get smashed by Benavidez also which is what I know would happen. So does Canelo, which is why he ducked him so blatantly.
Mmmm…I can meet you halfway there. Yes, it is technically breaking the rules holding all to the belts for so long while not fighting the mandatory…but then you lost me at “Canelo getting smashed by Benavidez”…
This is like when Chris Tucker gets physically threatened by the black guy in the Chinese get-up in Rush Hour 2.
”We’d love to see that. Wouldn’t we love to see that, Jackie?”
How are you going to spin it when Benavidez gets beaten?
I don't think he's so much afraid of Benavidez, as he is terrified of going out on what would be one of his last fights and have his ass handed to him. Bad look for the legacy. But yeah, he's a bitch. :lol1:
I don’t know if I’ve ever heard your take on them. Who do you see winning if the fight ever happens?
Are you strictly upset about Canelo holding to the belts without fighting Benavidez (which is understandable)? Or do you just want him to get beaten and think Benavidez is the guy for the job? Cause I don’t see it.
Cause if you want Canelo to get beaten again, Bivol is the guy you should be rooting for. Canelo gets smoked by Bivol again if it happens.
Benavidez…eeeeh, I wouldn’t bet on it.

Maidana gave Floyd a great fight. He didn't win, but it was a closer fight
And of course "Nelo" has the best resume.
The "cash cow" of boxing always has the best resume because he can fight whoever he wants, when he wants, so he can choose to fight name fighters on their terms & rig the process in their favor.

Considering Canelo is demanding 200m to fight him, which is about 4x more than he's ever been paid before, Its safe to assume, he has convinced Canelo though. lol. He was prepared to fight GGG three times but won't fight Benavidez even once. Says it all. You are still in denial, its sad.

And…if the fight never comes to fruition, it hardly matters. Benavidez doesn’t convince me he brings anything to the table that Canelo hasn’t seen before.

Many people think May lost 1/2 the Maidana fights
Needless to say, non fans see what they want :lol1:
BTW, Nelo still has the best resume of all active fighters :)
