I blame the people who constantly justify Bud fighting lesser competition bc they hate Spence/PBC. Bud is not Canelo and better fights should be demanded from Bud. Bud should be receiving as more criticism than Canelo does for not fighting Benavidez. NOBODY asked for Bud-Madrimov. What you all need to accept that the days of a belt mattering are over. Nobody cares about Madrimov being a champion and Bud winning a title after a higher weight class if it’s not against a worthy opponent. Bud thinks that promoters have an agenda against him when that’s just insecurity. The truth is he has outrageous purse demands that his stock doesn’t justify and nobody wants to lose money. Turki came along and financed a very unnecessary fight just like Top Rank used to do until Top Rank had enough. Add the ever growing piracy issue and it’s just a losing situation for any promoter to finance a Bud fight.
The only fights that can truly generate a successful event for Bud is a Spence rematch at 154/160, Benavidez at 168, a Mayweather comeback, Tank at a catchweight, Tszyu in Australia, Charlo in Texas Boots or Ryan Garcia. Everything else will be a flop, because Bud just isn’t a star. Unfortunately for him he doesn’t live in the era that had so many fighters who were draws.
That may be a good analogy. There is good and evil competing with each other in the paranormal universe just as in the real world. Rick Glaser may actually be the good guy or the lesser evil dispelling evil deeds perpetrated by evil doers.
Seriously, if Dan Rafael came up with 300-350K on the Tank-Martin fight, we can safely assume Haney-Garcia did more than 1 million easily. Which is still conservative if we are to believe Rafael's numbers. But I don't believe those numbers. Even 20K-60K is hard to achieve in this day and age let alone 300K? It's clearly made up. (Rafael is a constant fixture in PBC press conferences. That deep smartass-sounding voice of his is easily recognizable.)
Trust me if you have been a fan of boxing even just for a decade, you know exactly the comparative sizes of every fight you have seen. There's no way Tank-Martin is any bigger than the Turki fight in California, for example. No way the Haney-Garcia was just a tad bigger. You either believe FatD's number and accept the Garcia-Haney did 3x or more or stop believing them altogether.
Anyone, which includes you and me, can come up with any number. Try it on the next PPV show and pretend it's coming from a reliable source. Just post a number in this forum, any number on the just concluded PPV and people have no way of confirming it.
Excellent assessment bro. Therefore, Turki's US debut card being bigger and nowhere near the size of Martin vs Tank fight, Fat Dan should at least come up with something like 500K.

If Garcia vs Tank did 1.2 million ( I think that was the # )
I would say that the Haney fight would be close to that with Ryan
Tank vs Martin didn’t even scratch the surface imho
I can't wrap my head around it either. How in the world a fight (Garcia-Haney) full of controversies that reached every corner of the earth not have a single PPV number associated with it, while a relatively low profile fight between Tank and Martin did? They want us to believe all those controversies from start to finish; Garcia behaving mentally deranged, his tons of confrontations with Haney, etc. did nothing to drive up the PPV attraction. I thought what more publicity, good or bad, do any promoter of fighter have to come up with to sell a fight? I've never seen any fight where no celebrity, most of them only known to a few, didn't chime in what they thought about the fight, Garcia's behavior, whether it's fake or real, etc. And when I logged in to Youtube every link in the page was about the fight. It got even bigger after the fight and went weeks before it subsided.
Then later we had a relatively low profile fight between Tank and Martin, whom casuals have never heard of, they want us to believe it did better numbers? It does seem like there is some paranormal activity going on that we can't see manipulating narratives. Can we have an article about this from Iole?

He didnt loose NOTHING. His toilet is made out of 24 carat gold. The man wipes his a-ss with thousand dollar bills. He pumps out 10 million dollars of oil out of the ground in about an hour.
Ignorance really is bliss

Paranormal chit for sure
Tomhawq I don’t know how this all comes about but I would be willing to bet that Garcia vs Haney did amazing numbers but they don’t want to reveal them because of all the controversy that has happened
Funny How both fighters haven’t said anything when before they were complaining about not getting their money
My Thinking is that , they don’t want to pour any gas on the already burning fire ( publicity lol )
Bottom line is people need to stop asking about PPV numbers. None of them can be confirmed. They're all made up. Some even suggested Tank/Martin did better than the Garcia/Haney fight. Something like 200K for the Haney/Garcia fight and 300-350K for the Martin/Tank fight, according to Fat Dan. How in hell could that happen? That's why people need to do simple math and use common sense.... This article itself attributes it to piracy, but then dismantles it by blaming it's because it's Bud in the main card. He should be blaming his fellow writers for exaggerating previous numbers. They're all fake. There is a certain group that is biased towards a particular platform. MR, TR, GBP, DAZN are all fair game to this group.

Garcia and Haney were crying about not getting paid by GBP, which Oscar vehemently denied on video. They were referring to the PPV upsides they expected to be massive. Seems most people watched it for free. At least not many fans were that curious about their numbers, unlike some folks who still believe in huge PPV numbers.

Well, he'll have to make a choice then. Stay at 154 and make good money, or chase Canelo and make great money. Hopefully he'll make up his mind soon and stop whining. I think 154 is the safer choice. TC has Turki's support, and Turki appears to have PBC/GBP/TR's support.
Lmfao
Not if you ask one of the promotional fiends about PBC being associated to Turki
The issue though is he wants to make the most money for his remaining fights and years left in his career. He won't do that fighting the relatively unknown and arguably weak remaining championships at 154.

Crawford is not ancient, and I'm pretty sure he's capable of fighting twice a year. The amount of money he's demanding seems to be the issue. The 154lb division is only 2-3 fights away from Undisputed. If Crawford/Canelo goes up in smoke, I couldn't care less. I wasn't interested in that fight before or after last Saturday.

Actually it's excellent pay-per-view numbers are declining. If pay per view numbers continue to decline the promoters will have no choice but to only put the very best on pay-per-view. Or it might even get rid of pay-per-view all together. The economics of the sport are changing. No one wants to pay pay-per-view for a bogus fight that should be on TV
....or match-ups simply won't happen, like before the Saudis got involved. I don't think PPV is going away, doesn't matter how bad they keep doing.
this is the negative to these saudi fights.
They dont care if they loose money and the thing is all the other promoters have to make money. but the saudis cannot promote EVERY fight. so then those that dont win the saudi lottery they stand on the sidelines waiting for their big money shot and other fights wont get made.
Also if turki ever looses interest in boxing and moves on to some other sport, everyone is spoiled to these high pay days they wont want to fight each other anymore and keep pricing themselves out.
Fighters were chronically pricing themselves out before Turki, so Boxing would be back to regularly scheduled programming.
Crawford is an old man already. He can fight anyone of those dudes for the same small purse he has been fighting for or convince Turki to stop being a jackass and make the fight with Canelo so Crawford can retire. He is not gonna go for undisputed at 154, he doesn't have that much time left at one fight per year.
But no, Crawford is a moron. Instead of thinking things through and realizing he doesn't have many big money opportunities left he comes out today and talks **** about Canelo. Crawford has been fking himself his entire career and the fool still hasn't learned.. It's sad, but oh well... He had Canelo in his finger tips and dumbass Turki and himself ****ed it up... They literally couldn't wait 40 days to talk to Canelo..
