Nobody is saying that to hate on the guy it's just a fact. He walked Artem what's his face down and his home town still walked out on his fight. Watching Bivol is fucking enthralling in comparison.
Respect your opinion but history shows if Bob and the matchmakers thought Loma wins that fight, they’d have made it.
Like any boxer, he may have gotten clipped. On paper, his jab and movement keeps Loma at bay the way Teo did- and I think we can agree Shakur is more skilled than Teo in both these areas.
No. He is protecting Loma to make the Tank fight now and Inoue down the road.
He did same for Loma imo when he stalled Walters out for a year and when he got him the emeritus/ franchise designation. He just claimed Loma beat Haney, but then made the Kambosos instead of making the best v the best- Shakur v Loma.
so your opinion is that Bob was protecting his 3-loss fighter from his undefeated Olympian?
That doesnt even make sense. Lomo already had losses. There was nothing to protect
Didn’t catch the fight. Was it that bad?
It just seems like, as skilled as Shakur is, he should be capable of so much more.
He rarely initiates offense. At least with Guillermo Rigondeax there was the threat of a KO.
There is no guarantee that Shakur would have won the Loma fight. Personally I think Loma beats him. Shakur has shown an inability to find a higher gear, and to step up and get rid of subpar opposition. In many instances, like Haney, its possible the lack of engagement is to protect a soft beard. What would happen if Loma (dont even mention Tank) clipped him clean on the chin?
I think it’s more likely that Bob was protecting his investment in Shakur, not necessarily protecting Loma. And actually, I dont see how anyone can think Bob protects Loma........

I don’t even care that much about him being boring in and out the ring, it’s his attitude and mentality that I have a problem with. This dude will make a shitload of excuses for his lack of creativity in terms of offense, and his inability to cut the ring off instead of looking himself in the mirror and admitting he’s not as good as he thought he was. He’s so caught up in wanting to be like Crawford, Ward, Floyd, or even want to surpass them, but all those guys stepped up to the plate and took care of business when the pressure was on. Shakur whines about everything and doesn’t hold himself accountable for anything. Tank, Ryan, Haney, are all more popular and with more clout for a reason.
They act like Mayweather didn’t build his fanbase by going 27-0 with 21 KO’s at 130lbs. That’s where his hardcore fanbase was built. And still to this day, new fans can see Mayweather’s 130-140lb fights and realize he was a beast. He was nowhere near like Shakur is now.
On top of that, Mayweather came through big in a lot of his fights, offensively. While not getting hit, he showed both sides for a long time. He was a very balanced fighter, the perfect fighter. That’s where his old fans come from.
Of course when you fight bigger opponents and don’t kill yourself to make weight like everyone else, your power will hit different. But Shakur hasn’t built that fanbase up like Mayweather did. He was a very exciting fighter to watch. And regardless of weight, look at his Hatton, Mosley, Ortiz, Judah, and Cotto fights. He showed a lot of aggressive even at 147-154.
Exactly this.
Money Mayweather was a boring tiresome character
Pretty Boy Floyd was a BADDDDD MFer.........
Looks like the Floyd scam was a one and done type of thing.
People in this day and age aren't going to a boxing match to see pot shotting. We want a tear up, with risky styles
Floyd's brilliance was that he played the heel so well that half the buys were people wanting to see the opponent put Floyd on the floor. Too bad for them it never happened.
Shakurs problem is that people just dont care whether he wins or is on the floor......
Isn’t that what a promoter is truly for- matchmaking properly to build interest in a boxer?
Had Bob put him in with Valdez and Loma earlier, he’d have looked dynamic in big wins. Bob protected them and instead fed a string of low reward, high risk bums to Shakur. He did Shakur no favors.
Just look at who he put Davis in with tonight. That guy constantly coming forward and Shakur would look absolutely dynamic.
Instead he puts him in with Davis where it becomes a foul filled disgrace of a sh-tshow.

The masses like offense and KOes, he has to win a lot for his style to be appreciated. He can't generate enough power in his punches because of his defense first mentality. Only sustain pressure will get him to go to another gear.
You didn't watch the vid? That was his buddy, not shakur.
The first thing you see in the video, on the left side of the screen, is Shakur hitting the same girl. On her back, for good measure. Pure trash - he and his buddy.
Man, stop with the Floyd comparison. Even an older version of Floyd was more exciting than Shakur. Some of you guys let y’all personal hatred get in the way of how you see certain boxers. Yes, Floyd wasn’t highly entertaining offensively, but what really separated him was his unique ability to effortlessly and effectively transition from offense to defense and vice versa, the ability to create openings by baiting his opponent to do exactly what he wanted them to do and then capitalized by countering them. Shakur doesn’t have that, he’s either too defensively minded, or he’s very basic with his offense with no creativity, he can’t really transition as smoothly and effortlessly as Floyd did. Put some ****ing resPEK on Floyd’s name!

His own people walked out before the fight was over and was booing him.
Some fights simply do not have the it factor
I like every Mayweather fight except for Baldomir
True. One way to look at it. The other way is he is an extremely talented guy that should be in with other talents.
Responding to your post isn’t getting defensive. I am asking his promoter do the job for him as he has done for others he promotes.
He Sure did hurt Valdez and was entertaining. Again matchmaking. Put him in with Loma. He likely gets an accumulation KO.
Entertainment can be manufactured by the promoter. That was my point about the guy Davis fought last night.
Switch the opponents up for Davis and Shakur and we’d have had 2 straight hours of entertainment rather than a sh-tshow and a sleep inducer.
Lol at KOing Loma. You lost me there.
Lol at blaming promoters for not having a punch and carrying B/C level dudes to 12 rounds..
Tank fought the same type of guys he's fighting but he putting them out and that's why he's where he's at. So did Ryan.. His own people was booing and walked out on him lol.
Shakur is the American Rigondeaux. Skilled defensive boxer but ZERO entertainment value.
Idk how true this is, but I'm su****ious about his chin also. why Shakur not iron chin hero?
Bivol is another one. We know his chin is at least average but is it iron
maybe the best defense guys get underrated in chin because they’re rarely tested. We saw this with Floyd. Who turned out to be iron chin hero
Arum protected him too much and invested a lot of money on him. Even Berchelt never got to test that investment.
And even before the talk of Oscar Valdez was in the air, the Bobfather was proposing preliminary fights like staging Valdez vs Navarette winner vs the winner of Stevenson vs Berchelt, who Valdez already KO'd. See how protective the Bobfather was to him? Valdez was getting the harder fight in the interim. It never happened. I don't know the reason.
Yeah, I remember that. Fact that Bob didn't want to do the Stevenson vs Valdez right away was very telling.
