I wonder who Stanionis' manager is now, and whether that will result in him staying more active.
If that's the case then people need to stick with it rather than perpetuating silly narratives like he's being avoided. No one is avoiding him. Avoiding is when Boots' camp approaches someone for a fight and that someone turns it down. He had 32 fights on his record. Did those fights came to him by just sitting on his ass and they just miraculously happened? You make them happen.
And if you file a lawsuit complaining you need 3-4 fights a year, you need to work your ass off to make such fights and don't just sit on your ass and wait forever hoping someone will make you offers. You do the same way you managed to secure 32 fights.
And Jaron Ennis was signed to premiere network Showtime. He's supposed to be taking advantage of such privilege
sending offers with Espinoza's assistance.
Either they didn't take advantage of such privilege or simply busy trying to cherrypick fights with guaranteed win.
Then cry about being avoided.
Strangely enough, when BLK made an offer, they had instant excuse claiming they can't leave Showtime.
Their cries seems self-inflicted.
Ennis has had plenty of opportunities to make fights against top guys but his dad keeps turning them down. We'll see how it turns out at MR. At minimum, he should be getting Benn, but my guess is that he's going to have a bunch more fights against no-namers instead. Maybe he can get Rocha if Hearn and DLH can make nice. Right now he feels like he wants to take the Tank Davis career path.
Ennis was having promotional issues of his own, hence why he sued to get out of his contract. Now that he's with MR, he's actually in position to offer Stanionis something. Hopefully Turki intervenes and we start getting unifications by the end of year.

As for Stanionis/Ortiz, one of the fight suspensions was due to Stani's appendectomy. After Ortiz fully withdrew in July 2023, Stani remained inactive until May 2024 when he fought on Canelo's undercard. IDK if that ten month stretch can be blamed on GBP. Now that he got rid of Finkel, let's see how long it takes for him to get back in the ring.
Stan's last fight before the Ortiz (Sept 2022) petition was with Butaev, which was April 2022. So Stan was available for 4 full months. Eventually, Ortiz completely pulled out (with so many unfortunate circumstances on both sides) in July 2023. Again, Stan who was in training mode became available for Ennis. The interest was just not there.
Ortiz Jr dragged Stanionis into his inactive situation when Vergil filed a petition to the WBA.
Stan, who was promoted by Schaefer at that time didn't want it because it would require him to work with GBP/Oscar, whom Richard had a history of betraying and got sued for it. Stan himself filed a petition for his Spence mandatory spot, but they knew that's not going to happen and still very much would rather fight on a PBC card no matter which fight.
Ennis did nothing to secure the Stanionis fight. He had plenty of opportunities to make offers to Eimantas and take advantage of his availability. Boots and pop Bozy did nothing.

I would’ve moved to Matchroom. They will keep him active. Then try to return to PBC later.
He must’ve been promised Crawford and Boots. Otherwise can’t see why he stayed.
How can PBC promise opponents they don't have under contract? Only person they can promise is Barrios. But, it won't surprise me if Barrios has other ideas. Additionally, PBC seems to have a shortage of dates...and Stanionis isn't necessarily a main-event fighter. At best, his title defense will be a co-main to one of PBC's marquee names or someone they're trying to build. Hopefully he fights again in 2024.

I'm not very interested in any of those fights
If Ennis needs to go on a glorified "bum of the month" tour, then so be it. If he has to take shorter money to get certain fighters in the ring, then so be it. But whatever MR does, Ennis CANNOT become inactive again. That's why his career is in its current condition.

The least MR can do is keep Ennis active, but the issue is they want to quickly build him into a star due to the amount of money they're spending on him. Star-building is a gradual process and it requires consistent level of activity. After Avanesyan, unification must be a priority...but it can't be at the expense of activity. Ennis cannot end 2024 with just one fight. Worst case scenario, line up Chukhadzhian and see if Ennis can KO him in the rematch. Cissokho, Crowley, Chukhadzhian, Giyasov, Gollaz, Sasaki....just keep Ennis BUSY! If nothing is moving at 147, then petition the IBF for a 154lb title shot and face Murtazaliev or Lubin. I also think Ennis should be willing to take smaller money, in order to be more active.

PBC does lack dates but more than anybody else this makes me worry about Boots' options. Stanionis can unify with PBC. What Boots can do with Hearn now, idk.

Lmao not at the PBC
Cmon Kiaba , you know that
The only disappointment is no chance of getting Boots in there with him
If the PBC reps are developing a relationship with Turki, then maybe we'll get Ennis/Stanionis. In a perfect world, Ennis would've been on the Crawford/Madrimov undercard in a unification.

How can active can he possibly be on PBC's schedule?
I think Stanionis re-signed because PBC still has a foothold at 147 and 154. If he loses his 147lb title, he'll just move up and have access to some decent competition. But, PBC is partly to blame for his recent stretch of inactivity in the first place. If not for Canelo, Stanionis could potentially still be on the shelf. I don't completely understand the logic behind this decision, but I think changing managers was the right move. I wanted to see Ennis/Stanionis, but now with Stani signing this extension....Turki may have to intervene. Perhaps Ennis/Stanionis could happen on a Saudi card.
