What an absolute joke.
The IBF should simply cease to exist.
They are breaking up the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world to give their belt to the winner of a fight between a guy Usyk knocked out with a jab and a guy Usyk beat twice by 12 round decision.
The IBF has absolutely no justification to continue to exist. They have absolutely failed the boxing public.
Don't see the issue. The fight got postponed a few times and Usyk won the whole thing, dropping a belt won't take away that he was undisputed at HW. Usyk already beat both AJ and DDD so after Fury again there is no reason to try to unify once more.
I rather have the belts available for other fighters since it opens up the division and will have more guys fighting each other instead the funnel effect a unified champ causes.
Good. Usyk has proven himself to be number 1 anyway and will go down in history as undisputed. A chump like fury doesn’t deserve 2 cracks at undisputed, we all know he wouldn’t have honoured the rematch if he had won.
Huge respect to IBF. They seem to be the only body that actually enforces mandatories, you lot usually cry about how the others don’t so don’t cry when they do.
Lol. What now?
This is heavyweight. Belts come and go, often without a fight. Usyk is linial champion. These strippings point out why that's the only one that matters.
Were you under the impression that the IBF refragmented the cheesey belts for the good of the sport?
If Oleksandr Uysk has not fought his mandatory opponents then he should not hold the IBF World title 'But? If it was not for Tyson Fury pulling out of their scheduled undisputed fight twice. Oleksandr Uysk may have been able to fight his mandatory opponents'.
The IBF Boxing organisation seems very serious and strict with their mandatory requirements for their Champions. I don't think this is bad for the sport as a whole, but it can be unfortunate for individual boxers like Oleksandr Uysk who? Has found himself in a situation which in my opinion, he did not entirely cause upon himself.
Note: People may be disappointed in this decision, but Champions have requirements and tenants that they must adhere to. Unfortunately Oleksandr Uysk's undisputed contest against Tyson Fury, with all of the postponements has in my opinion disputed Oleksandr Uysk's title reign.
A similar situation to this has happened before in the past. When David Haye beat Jean Marc Mormeck 'Jean Marc Mormeck in the fight prior to fighting Haye, avenged his loss to O'Neil Bell. Bell was stripped of his IBF Title which he won, when he beat Jean Marc Mormeck in their first fight'.
This is why I have always personally regarded David Haye as a Undisputed Cruiserweight World Champion 'Technically Haye won ever single Championship belt in the division and beat all the major Champions both Jean Marc Mormech and Enzo Macarinelli. Haye was only not awarded the IBF World Title due to a technicality' etc.
The rules are clear, but they're meaningless and they're being used to destroy the credibility of the belt. DuBois and Joshua had three chances between them to beat Usyk and neither of them could do it. There is no coherent argument for the winner of a fight between them to get one of Usyk's belts. Period. The IBF has no right to exist in any fashion if they choose to place their belt's credibility below that of the IBO, which is already a joke.
Wrong. Endless rematches are what can destroy that credibility. By your logic, all the titles should be on hold while Usyk and Fury fight 2, 3, or maybe even 4 times to finally settle it. Having the IBF (or any other title) splinter off changes NOTHING in regards to who is the consensus #1. And assuming AJ beats DuBois, then yet another "undisputed" bout can be arranged between AJ and the Usyk-Fury 2 winner, unless of course there has to be a Usyk-Fury 3 bout. If that happens, I guess we all have to hope that there is a CLEAR winner, otherwise we will be waiting on Usyk-Fury 4. Hey, maybe by 2027 someone else could actually fight for the title?
No issue here, Usyk is still undisputed in the eyes of everyone with or without the IBF, however, the IBF does have its rules and it’s no surprise that this happened. It’s virtually impossible to keep all 4 belts in this day and era between how often boxers fight and who each alphabet organization decides is their mandatory.
People are upset because AJ is about to be 3X Heavy Weight Works Champ, it will kill their agenda especially Fury fan boys. They are devastated of this news and scratching their heads. Its a good move by IBF and that why they are being rated very high.
the fool here is YOU. Usyk and Fury were well aware of the rules. NO CONTRACTED REMATCHES. Period. Its not confusing. But they knew the rule existed, and decided to make the rematch anyways, for the $$$. And they are free to make that choice. Otherwise, everyone has to wait around 6-8 months for them to fight (assuming its not postponed again), and then of course if fury wins, or its close or controversial, then everyone gets to wait around another 6-8 months for the THIRD fight. Well too bad, the world doesnt stop just so Fury and Usyk can pad their bank accounts.
The rules are clear. But you seem exceptionally hurt by this and might want to talk to someone.

The only fool here is the IBF. They are 100% the only entity to blame in this situation. Their rankings were trash to allow Hrgovic into a mandatory position in the first place, and it's an even bigger joke that their vacant title fight is between two guys the undisputed champion already whooped a total of 3 times in recent memory.

It is a big deal. The IBF is literally placing their heavyweight title below the IBO heavyweight title. They have no reason to exist anymore. They have nothing to offer the world.
Sounds overly dramatic
The IBF were once corrupt and took bribes. The feds put them in their place so now it's a strict organization. But like I said, we know who tbe #1 in the division is so no big deal.
AJ-Dubois is a good fight. I think Dubois put together a couple good wins and Joshua is a cash cow. Deserve has nothing to do with it as far as he goes, or as far as the sport usually goes.

The IBF should just be smart and let the DuBois v Joshua winner keep the ****** interim belt. Then if the Fury v Usyk II winner doesn't fight them, that's when you elevate them to full champion. It's absolutely ludicrous to do it right now.
Neither Joshua nor DuBois has done ANYTHING to deserve this belt. Be honest.

Then Usyk would have had to go against his rematch clause and fight his mandatory. When someone holds all the titles mandos will get called and the likelihood of getting stripped of one are high.

If we know who the best in the division is then anyone trying to hand their belt to someone else should be laughed out of existence.

If DDD is elevated, it will finally mean he's a real heavyweight champion, as opposed to the WBA regular title which has never been considered legit in the eyes of boxing media and fans.
This isn't actually true technically speaking. The WBA belt Dubois held was the same title that Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Tyson, Holyfield, Lennox, etc all held.
That title is the "WBA World Heavyweight championship". It's not actually called the "regular" belt. Regular is an unofficial moniker to distinguish it from the WBA Super title. The Super title superseded the WBA world, as the primary title when Wlad fought Haye, so the Super title's lineage only goes back to that fight. Because it was a new belt with a different name.
It's obviously true that Dubois only held what is now considered the secondary WBA title, I'm not saying he was a world champion. But the belt he held was officially the one that can be traced back 60 odd years, with all its history.
As much I disagree with the IBF's decision. I can't say that I blame them. I think that It is not only rude but both arrogant and disrespectful to the sanctioning body's rule of conduct and bylaws. When promoters subjectively and unilaterally add rematch clauses to their undisputed bouts without so much as notifying the sanctioning body's ruling is just plain stupid and offensive. Perhaps and maybe in the future. These promoters just might ask for permission in advance before drafting a rematch clause in an undisputed fight. They make themselves and the fighters they represent look like fools each and every time they opt for one.

The IBF is strict so if you don't fight your mandotories you will be stripped. I personally don't have an issue with it since we already know who the best in the division is.

At this point. the IBO heavyweight title is more legitimate than the IBF heavyweight title. Let that sink in.
