Who do you think he would pick?
According to Hearn:
"The WBC belt is going to become vacant and Sandor Martin v. someone will take place," Hearn told video reporter Sean Zittel. "One-hundred percent, he’s not going to fight Sandor Martin. Who's going to pay for that?”
Hearn predicted that Martin (42-3, 15 KOs) "will want to fight for the world title. Unless Devin boxes that off quickly, you've got to take a tiny payday for that, and I don't think Devin's all about that."

That one-sided ass whoopin’ he took from Ryan crashed his stock. Beggars can’t be choosers. Fight Martin, who is not a big puncher, and win the obligatory decision. Then unify with Teo. That’s pretty much it at 140.

Martin is a ruff fight for anybody.
If he doesn't want to fight Martin yet, he needs to unify. If he's not going to do that, move up or retire.
Fast Eddie is already working on making the Liam Paro vs Devin Haney in Brisbane. Don't know if Paro would be ready in 3 months time, minimum. They can always bribe Sandor Martin to keep him quiet. It's all up to Paro and his team. They are holding the aces.

Haney would be silly to drop the belt. Haney isn’t a big draw and his stock has fallen recently with the loss to Garcia. He should defend against Martin, a fight I think he’ll win, then look to unify against Teofimo.
Why would he vacate to fight Catterall? Makes no sense at all.
I would agree with that. Martin is a low output fighter. It's a winnable fight for Haney.
Keep the belt, fight the Mando and then cash out vs Tank. If not, probably a move up to 147.
I think Sandor Martin is a winnable fight for Haney. Martin is a low output fighter. Sensible come back fight for Haney compared to the others.
They're on a balancing act. Haney is not a stable fighter and with a fragile chin. Any decent fighter can get a crack at that chin of his. Not hard to see them trying to figure what's next.
Do you think Sandor Martin "can crack that chin of his?"
Maybe he can go back to Australia and fight Paro. Might be a big fight there.
He should face Martin though. He's the most proven, deserving contender in the division.
Sensible fight for Haney. Liam Paro looks small and Haney can rehydrate to middleweight just like he did with Prograis and Kambosos who look the same size as Paro. He can then whisper, "You're too small" in the faceoff. Except Paro might not be ready yet and needs a minimum of three months to feel ready for his next fight. A lot of things could come up in 3 months.

At the end of the day it's the Haneys that would decide where to go from here. It's clear Hearn wants nothing to do with the Haney/Martin fight. Like he said, "Who's going to pay for that fight?" Which shows Haney is not a draw all on his own. Jack Catterall fight could be a bit bigger, and in the UK, but would the Haneys take it? Would they rather take a tuneup first? Who is there for a tuneup fight? He might not even get past a Richard Commey level. How about Jose Ramirez?

Glad you mentioned this seemingly insignificant comment.
Strangely enough, this could well be the fight Eddie Hearn is trying to work on.
Unification always trum(ps) mandatory fights. And I don't know if WBC would be amenable to it.

Haney was exposed by Ryan and he still hasn’t recovered mentally or emotionally from that humiliating loss. He finally fought someone his own size and got exposed. He had already been given a gift versus Loma. He will need to do some careful cherry picking from here on out to prevent another soul snatching loss.
Should move to 147 and win some belts up there, still looks like skeletor at 140. He could well outbox teo though considering how stuck Teo has looked in a few of his last outings vs boxers
Quite obvious Devin/Bill Haney don't want to part ways with Hearn who Devin treats like a long-lost uncle.
After Haney fulfilled his contractual obligations with TR, he became a free agent. And only TR made offers. None came from PBC, GBP and DAZN/Matchroom.
And because of their special attachment to Hearn they begged for the Regis fight, which Eddie reluctantly obliged, eventually scrapping his plans for Regis.
Haney/Prograis fight was on PPV because both guys wanted too much money. The PPV didn't sell.
If Haney fought Sandor, do you think the Spaniard would be given the benefit of the doubt in close rounds (and there could be quite a few with how cagey and awkward his boxing is)? That potential fight is destined for the scorecards where Haney will be guaranteed a victory, deserved or not.
It's a shame, Martin should have a win against Teo and Maxi Hughes should have a win against Kambosos. The only thing that matters is potential revenue ....
I agree with you 100%
No he will not. They will give it to Haney no matter what happens.
At least Sandor can eat a lot better in Spain than the s h I t we eat here.
