I think it's a good fight. I took a liking to Martin the first time I saw him fight, I think he is a real sharp fighter. Not beatup, seems hungry and in his prime, at his weight. Usually a pretty good recipe.
Better chances than Tank's last 3 opponents in Romero, Hector Garcia, and Ryan G. *Caveat than Ryan G might have had more "upside" than Martin going into that fight - all speculative though. Martin has the skills, less of a need to speculate about what he might be able to do. He should have more to fall back on those guys at this point.
What I'm struggling with is how much can Tank separate in this fight - and some people might even say that he hasn't been separating at all given the scoring/pace of those fights before the KO's. However, what I love about Tank lately is the composure and guile to score the KO's. That is how he has been separating lately, not mas much with the physical.
But then I have to ask myself, "how smart does a fighter need to be to outthink Rolly? Ryan? Old statue Hector Garcia?" Does Martin have enough physical ability to hang if Tank has to show more output in this fight. Is Martin just more like a good all-around fighter who will be blown away athletically.
sometimes I can talk myself into thinking otherwise good solid fighters can compete/win,, only to have the superstar phenom come out and show exactly why they makes the big bucks. I think Tank is one of superstars so MArtin will have to be even better than I am giving him credit for.
Frank is a full sized jacked LW he has a good edge on Davis in size, he can box and has nothing to lose and a lot to gain, Davis been out for awhile with a stint in the big house, these are the type of fights that can produce fireworks, Im expecting a technical fighter like Martin to bring out the boxing ability of Davis, I see the haters in here always going on about Davis cant box and is all power, I think his biggest illusion is that he is as cagey and slick as a mongoose and casuals only see the TNT he carries..
This is mostly a stay busy fight for Tank if you ask me. People should be tuning it to the Matias fight this weekend. If I had to choose between the two to watch, I'm watching Matias.
I think he'll eventually be stopped, but I could see him being up/even on the cards at that point, he's quite tidy IMO. Last fight against Artem wasn't anything special, but pulled it out in the 12th.
I don't know, he's a good contender, but I don't think he'll have much for Tank. I think Tank may be a little too dynamic and talented for Frank to have enough to beat him.
