Sounds like the Brazilian stood too much with her instead of taking her down more. She actually took her down 3 or 4 times, Marshall was able to get up . And like mentioned, she was a pro kickboxer, so she wasn’t a slouch on the feet and had some success there too.

Marshall looked almost as bad as Shields in MMA. Fighting for her life against someone 1-2. Her opponent had an extensive amateur kickboxing background and a purple belt in brazilian jiu-jitsu. It's really, really hard for boxers to deal with leg kicks and takedown attempts. This was a good performance for a pro debut. It took Holly Holm several fights to learn to deal with takedowns and it's still her biggest weakness.

Impressive she was able to get off the ground multiple times with a purple belt on her.

Back to her feet, she rocked the Brazilian and then the Brazilian rocked her. They’re trading and now Marshall rocks her again, the Brazilian grabbed her ankle and got her down again and Marshall gets back up

Two leg kicks have sent Marshall falling, and now she’s gotten took down with a long ways to go in the 1st
