@his excellency
Well I finally caught up from last weekend. I was busy to say the least.
My thoughts on some of the fights.
#1 Hrgovic vs. Dubois. Well,who can predict that a fighter who quit before, and was knocked down not once but three times by a no name in another fight would have the performance of his life? Not me . I do not have a crystal ball that clear. Yet Dubois showed a very good chin and jab last night. I have never seen him look so good. Props to him.
And who could predict that a fighter would show signs of fatigue so early ( lack of training ) and disrespect his opponent enough to the point of being prone to an upset as Hrgovic did?
Theater of the unexpected!
The fight was action packed. The cut over the eye played a big factor in the stoppage. I had the fight 4-3-1 in the rounds prior to the stoppage in favor of Dubious.
Neither man is done, and they both will get another big fight.
#2 Sheeraz vs. Williams.
Sherraz performed very well last night, but I would not go overboard as he opponent looked like a tattooed gang member, and boxed like one . In fact he landed 0 jabs for six rounds of the fight! Source punch stats. Not to take away from Sheeraz's performance but it was a combination of Williams being overrated and Sheraz boxing beautifully.
#3 Wilder vs Zhang.
This one went exactly as I thought. Wilder did not win a round, while Zhage had no problems landing on him. Wilder landed about just 16 punches in 5 rounds or 3 punches a round. Source punch stats.
Zhage showed some hand speed and power but consider who he was up against. He'll get another fight. Wilder is finished.
I'll watch the rest of the card later.
