Josh Taylor's performance was somewhat average vs Catterall in the rematch.
IMHO he does not look nearly the same as he did in his prime. His output is quite minimal and seems to have lost that dog in him and aggression in his performance at this point.
He also doesn't box as he used to from a technical standpoint. He just had spurts of it in the rematch.
Seems to me that retirment may be knocking on his door sooner than we may think.
Your thoughts.
How much longer do you see Josh Taylor fighting?
I think it's fairly obvious who belongs on there if you are objective though. Not sure why they even consider fighters who duck hard fights. The problem is fans of particular fighters ignore facts and just want their guy on there because they feel he should be
That's exactly why there is too much controversy man. There are TOO MANY biased manfans who idolize fighters and think their favorite fighter should be #1 on the list with quite foolish reasons.
This is why I typically stay away from P4P talk.
It is super subjective and too debatable and a BIG waste of time

Yes he is donne at 140, should have moved up already.
He may experience a revival at 147.
I actually highly doubt any type of revival.
He has been like this for too long. He will only look somewhat decent aqgainst C level opponents.
Josh the type of fighter that takes too much damage against elite opposities due to his front footed style you can’t miss him. He does dish them out as well though.
True.
His defense is not top notch. It definitely took a toll.
Yet as far as dishing it out too, it has been reduced drastically in his last fight.
I feel it's over for him at this point in regards to elite level

If be can’t even beat an opponent of Catterall’s caliber, he should hand em up. He looks done.
One thing that was always on my mind regarding Taylor was his life outside the ring. Long time ago I heard that he was a mad drinker and a partier. He has that look too. So I kind of assumed that he wouldn’t have much longevity at the top but I never expected somebody like Catterall to bring him down.
You hit the nail on the head man.
I was quite disappointed in Josh when he was struggling against Catterall in the first fight. All due respect, Cat is not necessarily elite level imho
Yes because Tyson Fury was too at one point. Fury has only fought 3 top-10 boxers in 8 years. People are idiots. We need to let AI judge

Not sure where he goes from here outside of a trilogy with Catteral. He likely loses the rematch. He won’t do any better against top talent at 147.
I agree.
Outside of a trilogy, he most likely fights C level fights for paychecks both at '40 and '47
A pity because it was a short lived peak and I did enjoy watching him in the ring.
I definitely agree!!
I really like Josh but it's been a quick downward spiral unfortunately

He was briefly in the P4P discussion at that time, can you believe it

Well said.
I mean all around he does not look like he once did.
He is definitely at the tail-end of his career.

It's just the style. Compubox showed he landed more power shots than Catteral. Also Taylor was never as good as people thought. It was surprising when he won undisputed and he had a close fight with Prograis too

Josh Taylor looked out of balance, front foot heavy that didn't allow him to evade punches and coming straight in like the first fight. He has a good chin and once he warmed up his output was better but didn't adjust well with angles.
I don't see him improving at this point of his career.

Yeah, it looks like he's done.
Once a guy starts moving up, he rarely starts performing better once he starts looking shopworn.
It's only going to get worst for him at 147 or 154.
UNLESS, he gets on that Canelo/Baumgardner contaminated meat/supplements diet. :lol1:
I mean, if Taylor does continue fighting, it will be against C level fighters just to make money I think.
