I'm sorry to see him lose, but did he really get such a boost in income or did he take the fight no matter what?
Don't guys at his level treasure their records? More than money?
Efe did not pass the eyes test to me. Semi talented is a bit of a stretch.
Efe and Makhmudov were able to use brute force to get pretty far but eventually a job will require more than a hammer.
He didn't want to beat the count. It was obvious.
While others try to fill up their resumes with even past-prime brand names, Frank Sanchez didn't want anything to do with them. He never showed interest in fighting Ortiz or Martin who are in in his own PBC backyard and very much available. He'd rather pick Daniel Martz whose last fight was his 10th and KO loss. Man, that's gross. I have to keep repeating this because that still hasn't sank in to fans. And Charles Martin already beat Martz by TKO 4 years ago when Frank fought him.
I think he massively underrated Agit. Figured less than 100% would be good enough. Frank's best win though, was comparable to Agit's. Both beat a physically imposing semi talented slugger.

Probably the same, but Ortiz got more pop and grit. He's far more entertaining as well. And Ortiz far deserves that oil money than an unproven, boring Sanchez.

Funny thing about frank , he says he's 'No Ortiz". Yet I cant't tell them apart as fighters.. can you?

Seemed fine in the first round. I think he wore it as a built in excuse as he knew he was gonna be in a tough fight can just blame the loss on the knee. He didn't have an answer to agits front foot pressure style or bodyshots.
He's still lucky to have gotten a share of that Saudi oil money with a skimpy and embarrassing resume. Many that are far more deserving didn't get a chance at that oil money.

He's over 31 years old and already had 25 fights under his belt with no notable opposition. He probably couldn't afford to turn down or delay a Saudi paycheck.
Take it or leave it deal from Saudi?

Was Frank Sanchez really that arrogant that he thought he could win with a f up knee? | BoxingScene Community
