That is an absolutely insane individual win for a smaller guy to have accomplished.
He beat an undefeated beats that had 4 inches in height and 40 pounds in weight on him. God knows how many inches reach.
Pulled victory from the jaws od defeat with that 9th round too. Fury was starting to lang hard right hands and uppercut. He hurt usyk multiple times.
What a performance be Usyk.
And then he got up and trashed him. Ali lost to Leon spinks and 5 ft 10 left hook spammer Joe frazier. How many times did Ali really lose to Norton?
So now we're just playing obtuse and act like Ali wasn't extremely washed at that point (and still beat him in the rematch)?
Joe Frazier is an All Time Great and he beat him twice after.
Ali might've arguably lost the third time, but he got the decision and at least wasn't dropped. Didn't Fury get dropped and barely eeked out a split decision against a UFC fighter with ZERO pro boxing matches?
None of the past ATG's would be able to do anything with Fury based off what? Steve Cunningham dropped him.
I don’t understand why people put Fury in the top 10. Who the fuck has he defeated?
Is Usyk THAT great at HW or is the competition that bad? Was Joshua ever a great HW? So many Wilder fans insisted Fury was overrated and a cheater, so how do they see Usyk's win over Fury now? Is he Wilder's leftovers?
I still think Dubois hit him on the belt line and Usyk was saved by the ref. How does Usyk stack up in prior eras of HWs? I think he does well in the late 70s and early 80s but loses to Holmes, struggles in the 90s/2000s against Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, Klitschko brothers, Tua, Tyson, Mercer, Ibeabuchi.

Exactly. All these greats of the past except Ali don't really have many great wins. Who did Foreman, Vitali, Wlad and Larry Holmes even beat?
Usyk is above pretty much everyone now let's be honest. Tyson is up there too. None of these past all time greats would be able to do anything with Fury

Lol.

YES to all except for pro wrestling.
And I can punch
See above.
Thanks. I'm curious if there are other fighters in history who have been the road warriors that Usyk has. How does he stack up historically in terms of winning titles on the road?
Usyk is no ATG so relax lol. People seem to love throwing that word around so easily these days.
Undisputed at cruiser and heavy after beating all the best fighters in each division.
Countless fighters and trainers are saying hes one of the best ever
People assume Fury is an all time great for no reason whatsoever. He beat wladimir who is NOT an all time great. The rest were cans.
Lol.

He’s undeniably an All Time Great now. Period. He’s the greatest Cruiserweight and Heavyweight of his era. And he’s one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time. And he’s proven with his wins over much bigger opponents in a higher weight class, that he is a true top P4P boxer in its literal meaning.
Oleksandr Usyk’s notable wins in his journey through Undisputed Cruiserweight and Heavyweight championship.
Krzysztof Glowacki - 26-0, WBO CW Champion
Michael Hunter - 12-0, Defense
Marco Huck - 40-4, Defense
Mairis Breidis - 23-0, WBC CW Champion
Murat Gassiev - 26-0 WBA, IBF CW Champion
Tony Bellew - 30-2, Defense
Derick Chisora - 32-9
Anthony Joshua - 24-1, WBA, WBO, IBF HW Champion
Anthony Joshua - 24-2, Defense
Daniel Dubois - 19-1, Defense
Tyson Fury - 34-0, WBC HW Champion
All this in just 22 pro fights.
This is a true champion’s resume and a real elite boxer. This man’s skills transcends size just like Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao…two legends and GOATs of their time. Usyk has joined them.
I admit Usyk has even surpassed my favorite active fighter, Canelo Alvarez. Usyk dominating Fury would’ve been like Canelo dominating Bivol. And Canelo is an ATG as well.
Great post, all very true.
In my eyes, Usyk did the deed, and pushes higher up the list.
It will be interesting to see if he can repeat on October.

YES boxing is a global centric sport. but in the past men like Jordan, Magic, and Bird dominated. And in boxing the USA used to dominate. Now they just are not as good, the home grown USA talent.. in both sports.
Basketball is becoming a game or really tall big men that happen to be able to Shoot, and Pass well. It just was not that way 30+ years ago.
The top five players in the game as you listed may be all European in says 3 years. James and Curry will retie soon. Who's the next USA star player? I am not a basketball guy so I do not know.
Yeah it was only a matter of time before they found incredible tall coordinated 7ft shooters. Freakshow sport tbh lol
Witherspoon, Chisora, Joshua, Dubois*, Fury
There are two great wins in there, and I'm not a boxing historian but surely you have to do more to be considered an atg HW.

How is this the w9rst heavyweight era ever if Fury and Joshua coukd probably trounce every guy from the 90s and 2000s bar Lennox and Vitali?
Because they couldn't. AJ got trounced by a small fat mexican, and Fury struggled with an mma fighter.
Usyk is the only HW of this era worth a damn.
He would also run amok in the 80s where the throne was a revolving door of crackheads.
He would have annihilated Tubbs, Smith and Tucker.
Not sure he would fair that well in the time of Tua, Lennox, K2....
Above Moorer :dunno:
You really say some silly stuff. Usyk would not be favourite vs those guys let alone run amok were all much more skilled than AJ and big. This era of HW's is awful, people need to realize that. I think he struggles to beat Parker.
I think he’s got to be top ten now. He’s beaten the two best heavys of their generation. Been undisputed in two divisions. Stellar amateur career. Incredible fighter.
Top 10 HW of all time after 6 fights at HW, well done casual. lol He is not even top 50 all time HW, he has barely had any fights there regardless if he has the belts. He would not be favourate vs at least 100 former HW's.

Where do you place Usyk all-time at heavyweight after last night? | BoxingScene Community
