I am confident Usyk is going to whoop Fury. The only doubt I have is how he deals with the jab of fury... Usyk has only faced punchers in the division so far.
I want some data on how usyk has dealt with great jabbers with superior reach.
Usyk sucked against Bellew most of the fight...
Bellew said Usyk tires his opponents and that he was dead tired when he got Ko'd.
He says Usyk knows what he is doing.
Wlad lost the battle of jabs with Fury
True, but that was a 27 year old 247 lb Tyson fury vs a Wlad who was months away from 40 years old. The fury from back then was the "riddler",and was able to box and move much better than the current heavier, slower 35 year old post-booze and coke fury. I honestly don't think that the current fury beats the wlad from 2015.
Sparring doesn't count.
Why wouldn't jabs in sparring count? It's the same reach, and the same speed as a real fight. If anything the jab is the most used punch when you spar, since it won't really hurt your opponent, and you practice your distance and timing with it.
Watch how Teo controlled Loma with a SHARP, snapping jab. It worked. Now imagine Teo is 6 inches taller and weighs 44 pounds more than Loma.
That’s what we’re looking at at Fury vs Usyk. It’s not a fair fight but that’s the heavyweight division.
Teo and Fury is a wild comparison
AJ has a very good jab. It's faster and crisper than Fury's for sure. Fury is a craftier boxer, though, and probably uses his jab more effectively. I'm remembering in Fury vs. Wilder II, it was early, maybe the first round, Fury triple deked and slammed a jab smack into the middle of Wilder's face. It was perfect and set the tone for the fight. Usyk is not Wilder, however.
If Usyk can get under Fury's and use the up-jab so effectively like he did in his second fight with AJ, he'll be just fine.
He turned it on after the 3rd as he always does. Not Usyk's fault Bellew couldn't take a punch. Usyk won 4-7 and stopped him in the 7th.
Highlights still showed Usyk eating a lot of shots after round 3.. Bellew is solid but not lighting the world on fire

Yeah, Bellew did show you can have some success if you fight on the outside vs Usyk. Realistically though Bellew was about Euro level, fringe world level at best, so he was never gonna keep his game plan going, he has having to work flat out just to implement the plan and started getting tired.
It was a nice idea from Bellew, it was actually a pretty smart approach but the reality is he was a C level boxer that was already flattened at 175. Not to mention bellew then killed himself to get back to 199lbs after the Haye fight. So he was never gonna have the stamina to keep it up, even if he was good enough, which he's not
it was really Bellew's best hope. He knew not to box at mid range with Usyk, it would be easy work. Neither of them can fight inside , so that wasn't ever happening. The best bet was keep it long and see if he could catch him with something, he just wasn't on that level so can't maintain it.
. Breidis also had some success with the jab from what I remember.
That fight really could've gone either way. I remember lots of people had it a draw, myself included. You really couldn't complain if Briedis got the decision. WBSS were always setting up the final to be Usyk vs Gassiev though, so Briedis wasn't winning a decision.
It was razor close
Did plenty of sparring against Wlad, and apparently gave him more than he could handle,to the point that he had to be asked to leave the ring.
