If they were going to make up a fake injury, they wouldn't pick a torn meniscus. A torn meniscus will show up on an MRI and Bivol's team would obviously have asked for an MRI if there were any doubt to the legitimacy of the injury. If they were going to fake something they'd pick an injury that doesn't show up on any x-rays, scans, or other objective means of diagnosis so everyone would have to take the fighter's word for it. Bivol should absolutely wait on Beterbiev. Beterbiev has the lineal championship, he has three belts and the TBRB title, and it's for the undisputed championship and vacant Ring Magazine Championships. There's no fight out there that is bigger for Bivol's wallet or legacy.
