Yep. I've been saying all long that Zhang was being way overrated. He's dangerous for a few rounds, which is great when you have Joe Joyce as an opponent who defends face first. He is what I always said he was, a fringe contender who is dangerous if you show him your chin. Other than that he's a big lummox with 4 rounds in him. No real top heavyweight loses to him unless they fight stupid and get careless early in the fight. Like Makhmudov, another one that was being overrated by many here and I told you all Kabayel was a tough fight for him and my pick for the upset of that card. I could see a mile off Makhmudov was nothing but a big daft lummox and a bit of a sh1thouse. Stop overhyping these fighters until they're truly proven. ​

As I've always said, I think if you put him in at that level he'll look like what he is... far too slow. He looked relatively quick against Hrgovic and Joyce but that's relative to their speed. Yeah styles make fights. Joyce’s style really flattered him.

He's obviously got a punch but that's about it really. Incredibly bad gas tank, he's shown that continuously. He’s predictable and ponderous too I think. Joyce was just the perfect stylistic matchup for him.

I really dont think that now at his age Zhang can ever come in lighter than 290. His mind and body is set so stamina is always going to be an issue. Despite his heavy hands Zhang has no future in the Heavyweight division. Too late now. Someone else here pointed out he has discipline issues (mostly with diet and training) and I think that is the main issue with him. He has been living in the US for years now and has made a fortune and enjoyed all that America has to offer..yet he hasnt bothered to learn English. That reeks of a lack of effort and the discipline to engage fully with a culture that has welcomed him. Perhaps this is why he has been around for a long time as a fighter but never really pushed himself into contention until the Joyce bouts. The hunger is not quite there. A shame as he is a natural boxer with real power and a crafty thinker. Somewhat lazy though.

People made too much of the Joyce wins. I thought if it goes past 5 or 6 rounds then Parker would win. I also thought if Joyce can somehow get Zhang in the second half of the rematch then he has a shot but the problem is, Joyce goes head first into punches so it was always unlikely.

I always thought Zhang was good but just too OLD. He’s HUGE, crafty and a south paw. Those 3 attributes are a night mare fore any boxer but Parker is fast, crafty and younger. It was close but it went in his favor.
