Any reason why Jaron Ennis vs Mario Barrios fight didn't get made?

In other eras in boxing, fans didn't say a fighter is desperate if they were calling someone out. They didn't say he's begging, clout chasing, or that he's the B-side. They didn't tell him to stop chasing a fighter. Jack Johnson literally followed Tommy Burns all over the world, taking steamships and showing up in faraway locations to issue public challenges, until public pressure built so much that Burns felt he had to face him or continue to be labeled a coward. Those tactics didn't always work, but fans used to applaud and respect an aggressive challenge. Nowadays, they attack the one who issues the challenges and praise the ones avoid them. Now granted, some challenges are nothing more than a hollow attempt to stay relevant and garner some attention. But when sincere challenges are continuously issued, don't paint it as clout chasing. You gotta know the difference. For example, I believe David Benavidez sincerely wants to face Canelo. He's been calling for that fight for years!! He's not desperate, he's not begging, none of that stupid BS. He should be respected. Teofimo's challenge to face Bud is NOT sincere, as he's been known to "threaten" retirement, play crazy, discuss his baby mama drama, repeatedly "beef" online, and even admit he creates fake controversy for views and likes.

Barrios was heard and seen calling out Ennis in many YT videos. But it doesn't mean it is immediately acted upon by the PBC management. It takes time. But then plans change, whether in the Barrios team, Ennis team, you know, people get impatient. Fights not getting made quickly is not new in this sport. People have grown used to it. So maybe when Barrios' team heard of Conor Benn mentioning his name, they had to think about considering it and start scratching the Ennis fight. Barrios needed more time or wanted a tuneup from what I've read.

Like some people say, if this is TR, GBP, Matchroom, DAZN, ESPN... we don't have to ask such questions. We would have known the answer as they're happening in real time. TR, GBP, et al are open book to all media outlets. And PBC is a mysterious place where the media is not allowed to air any (dirty) laundry. Hopefully, with NSB's new administrators, we'll find some answers. Not that it matters, but at least we could hope for a clearer picture of what's happening in the PBC mystery island. Yeah, it's hard to decipher what's going on inside the PBC mystery island. Weeks or so ago Youtubers say Barrios is next for Ennis, then later it's not happening. There are older videos that say Ennis had been chasing Crowley. Later they say Crowley/Ennis is far from happening. And so on and on and on... Nobody will ever get to the bottom of it when it comes to the PBC mystery island. But one thing for sure is Ennis is only going after Barrios or Crowley. Two PBC guys Ennis team knew are not disposable and PBC would rather have them fight each other.

Crowley is the one Boots' team have been chasing. Barrios is their other option. Some sources say Crowley wants a better deal for the Ennis fight. If not, he'd rather have Barrios. PBC ultimately decides up until this IBF order. Don't know if a bidding will take place. IBF ordering the fight is good news for the Boots team. Custio Clayton, undefeated/extensive amateur background/olympic pedigree/20 odd pro fights under his belt, Boots smokes him in 2 rounds. Do u see how many different ways Boots f....ks ppl up? Name all the fighters you know of in history who could fight equally well from, and knock u out from both sides?? That's a very small list, my friend. Sam Langford, Marvin Hagler, Bud Crawford, Tyson occasionally squared up and went southpaw, but not for entire rounds. Hagler and Boots are the only one who did this consistently and this good. Seems clear PBC will never do anything for Boots' inactivity issue. And it took IBF's order to at least shake things up. Or perhaps it's Bozy's cherrypicking fights is the main issue. Boots' inactivity issue would be PBC's last concern, imo, especially in the midst of transitioning to an entirely different platform. Their own fighters next fights are way overdue, and still no scheduled fights like Frank Martin, Adames, etc. Boots' team might as well break away and consider offers from the other side of the street.
