Even if he beats Joshua, he's turning 38 in September and whatever level he has now will hardly be there for long. Few people are that sharp close to 40.
38 is ancient in this sport.
Happy to see the freak of nature built for the art one more time, though. Hoping for a little bit more activity in the fight this time.
i didn't see any MMA habits against Fury and the reason is quite obvious. Nganno brawled in mma and he was a boxer puncher in boxing, so there is no confusion for his body.
It's when you do two arts that overlap somewhat, that bad habits can crop up.
It defies medical science if he is clean and still as quick.. but who knows. He's not exactly an average human in anything,
Hes almost 40 and 270 pounds with abs and low body fat, he isnt fuking clean why even bother speculating. Everyone is on PEDs and the tests arent hard to pass.
Ok lol. Its easy to diminish boxers. Some ppl weirdly live to do that all day here.
But who in their first competitive boxing match fights the (arguably) best guy at their weight drops his that guy, doesn't get dropped & loses a split decision. And a lot of ppl thought he shoulda gotten the decision on top of all that. Regardless tho the unarguable part of this is insane never before done sh^t. I didn't reallllllllllly expect Ngannou to do it & idk who I'd suggest could do something like that again.
Even Pete Rademacher who fought Floyd Patterson in his pro debut & dropped him, got dropped himself & eventually KO'd + had a whole amateur boxing career where he won an Olympic gold medal.
The highlight reel was 6 minutes, he didn't do much beyond that one punch. He's so terrifying that the threat is more powerful than the execution.

What?
but it was still a cross over and while it wouldn't raise eyebrows today, back then Thais were not cross training pure boxing like they do today
What are you talking about, there's a Muay Thai fighter named Samart Payakaroon. who trained pure boxing for months and then became WC

The normal rules dont apply now because we are living in the era of all this circus crossover boxing shyt. Back in the day he would have had to spend years building himself up, now he can walk straight into fights with the biggest names in the division at 0-0, so age doesnt matter so much in this environment. Obviously hes not gonna be having a long career though, probably less than 5 fights, but hes making big retirement money and getting himself in the history books as an ATG combat sports athlete.
I think your odds of becoming a top ten ceiling pro boxer are greatly diminished if you don't start boxing amateur at 18 lol.
So obviously Ngannou is too old turning pro in his late 30's. BUT you only got one life to live & Ngannou showed in his first pro fight he IS a high level pro boxer. I mean even tho hes 0-1 as a pro idk that anyone else on this planet would drop, not get dropped by & lose by a split decision to the arguable #1 pro boxer at their weight. Sh^t is insane & sounds like a movie plot not real life.
He lost most rounds, as expected. Fury has been floored by a cruiser weight in the past. He's not hard to put down. But he is hard to keep down.
Why would it be a miracle. Joshuas defence is worse than Fury
I'll save this in a quote until after the fight happens, so if I'm right I can ridicule you with it.
If I'm wrong, you can come to my house and f_uck my sister, the mad lad you are :D
Does MMA improve your clinch game?
It is different, isn't it? You are free to go for takedowns or throws, hold and punch, deliver knees and elbows. This is superior to what boxing teaches you, but for a better clinch work in MMA, you go through boxing, because it is also a part of it.
there are ways to tell from stance changes whether someone is comfortable striking from the new stance. The most obvious reveal will be loss of balance.
But then again, Fury never put him under pressure. Joshua isn't likely to do it either. The fact that Fury was confident to keep pressuring Wilder but not Ngannou, tells me that Ngannou punched harder
I think he punches harder, yes. Wilder is a tremendous puncher especially for his weight and the amount of muscle he has - it isn't much for a 201 cm. man who weights between 96 and 100 kg.
If AJ wipes him out as he should, then this point is moot. Wilder vs Ngannou will still sell tho because of the puncher vs puncher angle and by then Ng will swim in cash and pusay.
If a miracle happens and Ng lands a bomb on Josh's dome then the sky is the limit, everyone and his mother will want to fight him for mega money and noone will remember this he old doe thing.

You can't see MMA habits, because they are all against the boxing rules..
