I don't foresee major streaming platforms in play having much to do with diminishing promoter power in the game. It'd be cool if it did but I tend to think the easist way to get into the boxing game for them would be for them to make a deal with a promoter who'd make them regular content. That said I'd personally love to see a platform just sign popular fighters to exclusive deals, but this seems a harder road to navigate & sustain. Theres structural problems far beyond the best fighting the best. Too many weight divisions. Too many belts. Too many power brokers. Too few trustworthy rankings. No consistency in belt rules. Promoters have to much power. No PED testing/rules that make sense. No single authority looking out for the sport above all else. The best fighting the best don't do nothing for all these deeper problems harming the sport & making it less viable for masses of casual fans to give a fook about it on a day to day basis like they do with other sports.
