Inoue didn't waste any time. Already moving ahead with those top fights. Nery has past history with Japan, what with failing drug tests and missing weight in the course of knocking out beloved champion Shinsuke Yamanaka. He was banned from Japan for life, in theory, but I guess Inoue has the pull to get that lifted so the Japanese have a chance to watch their greatest boxer knock him out. Nery is a two weight champion, so there's been call to face him before.
Wish more fighters handled their careers like Inoue.
If this is true, this is exactly why Naoya is the man in boxing right now.
He wastes no time going right to the next challenge and a big one at that. Many of his BScene detractors have made claims for this guy and Naoya has already lined him up.
That's an honorable fighter right there. A true boxing fan's boxer.
stop it!!! there's plenty of BIG fights in the US that were sold out!! why you acting like floyd vs pac never happened?
That was nine years ago.
can you name any big fights between guys under 130?
i never said it was on PPV!!! .. you said US fanbase dont care about the lower weights... then you said pacquiao dont count... so i brought up those 2 names to remind you when matched with the right opponent (which i said the same for inoue), look how big those fights were.
Those fights weren't even big in comparison to what Inoue does in Japan, clown.
You brought up Tank Davis, and even he made less in his biggest fight ever than Inoue did against the likes of Fulton in Japan. That was the biggest US PPV in recent years, and it still did worse than Inoue v Fulton. That was 1.2+ million buys, and Tank gets 5 million. Bud v Spence only sold 700k buys, but they each had 25 million guarantees.
And you have to go back 20 years to ATG's to find any fans who will watch the smaller guys in the US. Fulton was the biggest US star below 130, and he's not even going to sell out in his hometown. You think O'Shaquie Foster is going to sell big time? How about another Shakur Stevenson or Devin Haney snoozefest? Those guys are huge names and they can't sell for crap. How about David Benavidez vs Demetrius Andrade. Both big names in the US. 60K buys. The US can't even sell fights with its biggest names in any division.
Just wow. Literally proves my point. Barrera v Morales one wasn't even a PPV. 2 was made a PPV and only managed 400k buys, and that was when boxing was doing well. 3 was at 130, when Americans start paying attention, and still only managed 325K. And the latest of those was 20 years ago, when Americans still cared about boxing. Barrera made only 1.2 million for his highest paying fight ever. Inoue's opponents who are unknown in the US to the idiot US fans make more than that fighting him in Japan.
Just more evidence that Americans don't start paying attention until the higher weight classes.
You're literally proving the point.
You have to dig back 20 years to guys who are ATG's to even find any that were at all of interest to US fans, and even then, they're earning fractions of the purses available to even the B-sides for Inoue in Japan.
SMH. Go back to school. You need help.

you made a bunch of excuses.... i guess you forgot all about erik morales, barrera, etc..

Let's also put things in perspective. Tank Davis made 1 million each fight vs Ruiz, Gamboa, and Santa Cruz. He made 2 million vs Isaac Cruz. Vs Ryan Garcia, he made 5 million after PPV cut. Inoue made 5.7 million just from the Fulton fight. Inoue already makes more money in Japan than the biggest US star below welterweight makes here. Even fighting Tank Davis he'd likely take a pay cut if the fight happened here in the US, and Davis would likely insist on fighting in Japan.
Maybe Tank should move up to 147/154 and fight Terence Crawford. Tank can't even sell more than 250K PPV without a social media star for an opponent. You're asking a guy who was getting 5-10 million eyes on in Japan as far back as Payano to get ignored in the US to satisfy your stupidity. He's fought in the US, and FACTS are that there are zero recognizable names in his weight class in the US BECAUSE THE US FANS DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LITTLE GUYS. Fulton was a unified champ and nobody cared about him here. They are much more interested in blowing smoke up Boots' butt, even though he wasn't a champ. Both from Philly.
And then you think he's got to fight up 3 more weight divisions to get recognition as P4P? Canelo shouldn't be able to be P4P without fighting Tyson Fury then. Bud isn't P4P without fighting Canelo or Bivol. Haney and Tank need to fight Bud to be P4P. That's one of the stupidest things I've seen on this site.
US fans are stupid. There's NEVER been a market for the little guys. GTFO with the Pacquiao crap because A, that's one guy out of the entirety of history with a totally different frame and build from Inoue, and B, he didn't even become mainstream until he left the smaller classes. Chocolatito and Estrada aren't even mainstream here. Their best purses are what a middleweight contender gets paid in the US. Shut up and do your research. You don't know anything about the finances and your delusion that the US matters at all in the lower divisions is getting more asinine by the moment.
you made a bunch of excuses.... i guess you forgot all about erik morales, barrera, etc..
I never said that fight will fill stadiums!! but match inoue up with a more known fighter and the fight will sell!! i know this fight will never happen but are you telling me if inoue somehow was able to move up and fought tank, are you telling me this fight wont fil stadiums here in the US???????!!!

I think he's drawing the distinction between casual fans that only know a few big names in the sport and those who follow all the divisons and follow the sport internationally. Most US fans fit into the former catagory. Fights like Many vs Floyd have mass appeal and success because both their names had transcended the sport and entered the mainsteam in the US.
And he's right - Inoue vs Nery ain't filling any stadiums anywhere outside Japan.
I never said that fight will fill stadiums!! but match inoue up with a more known fighter and the fight will sell!! i know this fight will never happen but are you telling me if inoue somehow was able to move up and fought tank, are you telling me this fight wont fil stadiums here in the US???????!!!
Do Mexicans have the highest number of fighters who tested positive/did some illegal shenanigans in fights? I swear. Though really, what Nery did against, Shinsuke Yamanaka was so shameful. The dude was about to make history if he beat Nery. Who knows, maybe Nery could of still won that fight without the assistance, but the fact that he cheated and stripped Shinsuke away from making history should be a bigger crime. I would of taken away Nery's entire purse after that. I'm glad he's banned from Japan, they don't need a POS fighter like him in their country that could cause potential death of their own.
Granted, I would LOVE to see Inoue beat the piss out of him. It's trash opponents like the Margarito's an Nery's of the world that deserve all the brutal beatdowns that they can receive.
It's funny we would never talk about Canelo that way because those were just tainted steaks, nothing more.

Inoue P4P # 1.
Been calling it for a while.
The Nery fight is a gift to his Japanese fans.
Redemption for the b.s done to his countryman. Twice.
I remember laughing as I watched Japanese fans yelling " ch!nga tu madre " at Nery as he walked out for the second Yamanaka fight.
Well deserved.
Inoue KO 6.
nah.. just like his fans said, he cant sell here in the US... so no, he's not the p4p #1... according to his fans, nobody knows him outside of japan.
I'm definitely one of the bigger open Inoue fans on this forum but bluntly put, no he won't. The fact that Chocolatito vs Estrada trilogy barely got 2000 (which is the biggest non-Inoue involving fights below 126 nowadays) tells you that the whole division gets no interest in USA. He'd probably pull better in UK or Australia if anything.
The reason I wanted JBC to keep the ban on Nery is not because I thought Inoue would fill stadiums in USA, but because I didn't want to see Nery get a chance to earn undeserved millions by fighting Inoue in Japan.
in that case. he's not the p4p #1, if he cant sell fights here in the US.
American boxing fans are mainly casuals, they're not filling a stadium to watch Inoue. It is what it is.
There's a reason Fulton went to Japan, because Inoue/Fulton would have gotten 50 people inside a Philly arena. Instead Fulton went to Japan and made more in that fight than he had his entire career prior. Very few Americans are actually boxing fans.
stop it!!! there's plenty of BIG fights in the US that were sold out!! why you acting like floyd vs pac never happened?
Will it still be in May? Makes for a tight calendar if he is going for three fights year
Beginning of May is Golden Week, which is a huge holiday week in Japan so it might possibly be that time. If so, one in first week of May, one in late Aug/beginning of September, one in Christmas/New year season is doable IMO.

so you are implying that inoue wont fill stadiums here in the US?

Not implying at all. When was the last time someone 126 and below was the main event on a boxing card in the US? Chocolatito and Estrada were involved in all 5. Their second fight, which was the best, even if Chocolatito got robbed, only made 275K gate. That's a tiny fraction of Inoue's gates in Japan. That's why his opponents stipulate that the fights be held in Japan. Inoue made 2.5 million vs Butler there. That's more than the purses for Estrada and Chocolatito combined in any of their fights if memory serves. His opponents make more money in one fight with him in Japan than in the rest of their careers. There's no market for the little guys other places. Meanwhile, Avni Yildirim also made 2.5 million for his pathetic few rounds against Canelo. If you can't figure out the basics of the money game here, there's no helping you. You clearly haven't done a single bit of research since you got schooled last time.
