He was struggling to make weight recently. He'll move up eventually - likely next year or 2025 max.
My point is Tank is better suited for 135 than 140.
Tank wants paydays. Which Devin doesn't offer - yet.
The Cryan fight was basically "legalized bank robbing". So Tank's sitting pretty fat on cash for a while.
But once that dries up, he'll go looking for money again.
Devin also wants money, and he knows what that means. It means he has to make more noise at 140. Which is why a Cryan fight makes sense next because it's free money OR just take Rolly's belt because it's a gimmie unification of two belts.
I think Devin now is a very big payday its a huge fight the split and egos would be hard to reach a deal, so is Shakur and Teo very big paydays, whenever the stars of boxing fight the fights people want to see the payday is always big its been proven in history so many times it should be counted as a Law of Nature.
Tank or his connections would see how hard Haney is to beat, Tank can do it IF he can land that shot, if as much as he has Devin wobbled its probably all over as Davis is a killer, but they are weighing up everything, from the size to can Davis land that shot, its easy for fans to sit back with blah blah, the brains in the back room look very hard at the business and the prospect of winning/losing and the business playout on both deals, to get this fight you need a lot of public pressure on Davis just as Canelo is getting publicly cornered by DB, the same is needed on Tank, its not the fighters its the suits in the backroom that decide.
Saying he’s all about money is “defending “.
You’re a mark.
Crawford: "My remaining fights will be all about money."
Leicesterage: "No you can't! You have to fight "Boots! Or give up all your belts doe!"
Tank: "I've been all about money from day one."
Leicesterage: "Bravo! clap, clap, keep doing what you're doing. That's my boy. Applause."
oh they will definitely put him in the hall of fame. they put him on the pound for pound list even though hes never beaten a top 5 fighter in any of his divisions and clearly ducks every single good fighter. hes up to 8th already if he keeps winning against teeny tiny men or drained bums in a couple years he might be #1 when the real fighters above him take a loss/retire etc...
As long as Inoue is still alive and Crawford active, Tank will never sniff #1 P4P
I don't mind him making money. That's the choice he's made and he's allowed to make those choices.
But I could sure stop hearing about how a duck like him is "P4P" or "ATG". He's going to make his money and take very little damage while doing it, but he's barely going to be a footnote historically. Could have been more, but he's not ever going to test himself.
Tank is a very successful businessman in the brain and isn't a boxer at heart, and I have come to accept that. After all, it is his life and his choice to make. He is a three division "champion" who will have made it with one belt won against a champion, one belt emailed, and one fake Regular belt.
In the end, he will retire as one of the richest super lightweight boxer in history ever without getting close to sniffing the HoF, but that is the path he wants and will make.

Tank’s people are just smart and it pisses posters off who want to see him lose.
They kept him away from Lomachenko and now they’ll keep him away from Haney.
Don’t like him? Do what I do - don’t watch him.
There you go. Just admit it's a business. It's all about money. Your favorite guys do it, so then don't get mad when others do the same.
Wasn't Tank parading his WBA regular title around at 140 like he was a real champion?..
hes pretending to be a 135 champ as we speak. hes just your classic con artist and fraud. maybe he will be president soon...

The problem is, when Crawford says it, his fans excuse it as "he's earned it".
The problem is you have a problem with consistency. Crawford got probably 9 fans in here, and you assume your inconsistencies being pointed out has something to do with being a fan of somebody. So the difference is you're a fan of Tank and defend him at all costs.
Tank is all about the money. But you already know that.
Look at how long it took to fight Cryan. He waited until the payout was what he wanted. He'll do the same for Haney. That's marinating 101. But again, you know this already.Fanboyism is strong on this fella. Tank can say it's all about money, but when it comes to Crawford saying the same thing, hell breaks loose with this fella.
Tank wants paydays.
Tank has had 1 big money fight so far. And that fight was big because of Ryan`s star power.
Cruz, Rolly, Barrios and other Tank fought were no draws. Stop with that excuses. Tank is a coward. he won`t fight anybody dangerous.
Stank had no problems moving to 140 for Barrios, but all of a sudden he's too small for Haney? These fighters need to start roasting him for all the cherry picking he's done throughout his career.
Quack quack.
Tank is only interested in fighting REAL fighters like Garcia and Rolly!!
Loma, Shakur, Teo & Haney aren’t as dangerous as Garcia and Rolly!!
Haney at 135 went to unify with Kambosos, did a required rematch with him, then beat Lomachenko. Then moves up to 140 and takes a belt off of Prograis in a 12-0 shutout, something Josh Taylor couldn't come close to doing.
Right now, Haney's resume is superior to Tank's. Period.
But before Haney unified, he had NO drawing power and wasn't bringing in any paydays. Tank had zero reason to fight the guy.
I keep telling NSB - learn to recognize when a guy is fighting for money vs. true legacy.
It's ironic that when Tank is blatant about his focus on cash, he gets criticized, but when Crawford straight up ducks a mandatory to chase money, he gets praised.
At some point, NSB really does need to be consistent.
Tank had zero reason to fight him? How about for the titles? Any fighter worth a damn wants to be champion. Tank has been cherry picking his entire career and avoided Haney, Shakur, Loma, and Teo among others.
Crawford put in his time, because undisputed in two weight classes. When he beat the boogeyman at 147 he still didn’t get the credit or respect he deserves. Never mention Tank and Bud in the same sentence again.
