I listened to Atlas today, and I think he took an interesting bet on this fight. He took the under in this fight, which the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. If Devin is at his best and the weight cut was hurting him, then he could be just like Callum Smith and start KOing. (Although, he was getting that 48 hour rehydration period, and it didn’t help him other than take punches better. But maybe this time is different. We will see.) Regis definitely can stop Devin, so this might be a genius bet line.
I’m thinking about taking the under on this fight. Not putting a lot down but just enough to make it worth my while.

I was in the same spot trying to figure out how to make the most of this matchup, and using a mybookie promo code gave me a solid bonus to play with. Helped stretch my budget a bit, which was perfect for hedging my bets without stressing. If you're thinking of sprinkling on props or going beyond the moneyline, it's worth using before the lines shift again.

If Devin really has problems with the game and he is not yet fully recovered, then Prograce may have a serious advantage, especially in terms of stamina and striking power. But you have to see how they both look on the weigh-in and in the first rounds. Betting on the «Ender» can be profitable if you believe that the Proctor will catch Devin before the later rounds. On the other hand, if Devin comes out in optimal shape, his technique can extend the fight. So I would look at the odds and current health/weight data closer to the match date.
What's your take on this bout? Let's talk predictions!
Well, my prediction was wrong because no one was knocked out. Although, I did believe Haney getting a decision was the most likely outcome.
What I learned from this fight is that the aphorism "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" proves to be accurate time and time again. Regis can't control distance, and the fact that his coaching team was incapable of giving him new tools is mind blowing. I think Regis' lack of an amateur background killed him in this fight. He has no ability to control the lead hand, and to beat Haney, you have to control his lead in order to limit Haney's ability to control distance.
That's what I learned.
As I posted elsewhere, if Prograis is on the slide - for he looked quite bad against Zorrilla - an in-shape Haney could even stop him late.
Haney by KO in the second half is currently 10/1 on William Hill, and I'm very tempted to throw a little money there.
Yeah. It might be worth it, for sure. What I'm struggling with is determine how much improvement Haney has had since fighting these other southpaws. He really is terrible with southpaws or, at least, not nearly as good as he is fighting orthodox fighters. It's hard for me to believe that within several months, he's had significant improvement. So for me it's not how much stronger he is necessarily but, rather, his ability to handle the awkward, athletic southpaw style of Regis.
Here are the betting odds for this fight. The under is -400. I still think that could be a good bet with the under being under 10.5 rounds. ODDS

Yeah. I am going to go on Draft Kings (only place I can bet right now) and see what the odds are for everything. I think I will post the Draft Kings breakdown on here.
Do you think Devin could stop Regis?

regis seems a bit inactive these days for me, bad sign for his win, haney to jab and move him with the a few hugs thrown in, would like to see regis win tho
Yeah. Me too. I want Regis to win. Regis is one of my favorite boxers. Long time favorite, and I don't like Devin, so it's extremely easy for me to side with Regis in this fight. I actually think he can pull this off, but then again, maybe I'm biased. I don't know. I just think it's crazy to me that so many are picking Devin and that the betting line is so far apart for these guys. I think Regis is really going to hurt Devin. I really do. And I don't know why so many people don't believe that.
Then again, after listening to Atlas, he made a good point about Devin possibly being able to stop Regis. What always comes to mind is Callum Smith who was a strong puncher at 168 but nothing spectacular. But when he moved up to light heavy, he became a knockout artist. That's not something that usually happens but it happened for him, and he was in a similar situation to Devin, just really big for the super-middleweight division. He was having brutal weight cuts. But at light heavy he looked healthy, and sure enough, he's knocking guys out. Could this be the case with Devin? He did stop Antonio Moran when he was younger and not struggling.
But then again, I look at his punch technique, and I see some serous issues. Not setting his feet. Letting his feet leave the ground. Not punching with his core, just his shoulders. Things like that which make his punches much less "heavy."
I don't know. Do you think Devin could stop Regis? Who else has gone up in weight and actually developed more power by doing so? I'm struggling to think of people. Usually people who move up and get KO's were getting KOs and the lower weight.
