I wanted to get this out there right away. After stating he wanted to fight Boots, Devin and Bill called out Keith "One Time" Thurman. Thurman has now rejected any fight with Devin, so Bill and Devin are now pursuing the WBA interim champion or champion in recess, Mario Barrios. The plan is for Devin to be a three division champion. Crawford is allegedly going to vacate his belt, so this would mean Devin could fight Barrios for the official belt. They are also petitioning to retain his other lightweight belts so that he can be a simultaneous three division champion.
After this, the plan is to use these belts to get Tank to fight him, allegedly. He wants to fight Tank at 135. This is now the plan.
What are everyone's thoughts on this?
Haney/Barrios is more believable because Haney won't negotiate any weight stipulation. Davis would try to coerce Barrios into a rehydration clause again. If Barrios allows Davis to punk him again, then he's an idiot.
Tank brings the $$$ though.
Haney isn’t really a draw.
I reckon Barrios will likely go to the highest bidder.
Barrios is essentially the low hanging fruit at 147 everyone is looking to pick. Wouldn’t be surprised if Tank explores a rematch too.

I'm really interested in seeing how this Haney/Crowley/Barrios situation plays out. I like that Team Haney is being proactive in regards to his career, trying to take as much control over his career as possible. When he needed to travel to Australia, he did so. He finished his TR contract and now he's back on DAZN fighting Prograis. He's not waiting for Teofimo or Tank or Ryan. Planning his next move will keep him ahead of his peers, and he's also maintaining a rapport with the sanctioning bodies.

Crowley or Stanionis I’d like to see.
Another poster pointed out to me that Crowley will likely get first shot at Barrios though so maybe Stanionis is more realistic.

Haymon guy Sam Watson always circles around Barrios and Crowley, so I see them fighting each other than fighting Ennis.
Don't know why Ennis can't secure the Stanionis fight. The privilege of being a Showtime fighter became useless, even more so now that SHO boxing is ending its run.
Anyone honestly… Cody Crowley is the highest rated IBF contender , I’d take that. Considering he’s with showtime and their last card is in Minnesota they could’ve tried to get PBC to make him vs Jamal James .

Sounds like a tune-up for 147. What's the issue? If he beats Prograis he'll have faced Kambosos(unified champ) 2x and became undisputed, Lomachenko(p4p top 5, 4 weight champ) and Prograis(2x 140 champion).
Who should boots fight

I see nothing wrong with having plans. It's not just about being active in the ring, but being active looking for fights. And the Haneys are both active in both departments. Much like with Tim Tzsyu and his team.
Sounds retarded. Like he looked at Adrien Broner's career and said "I want that."
I don't know, I don't really put any stock in these reports of him trying to fight Boots, Thurman et al. Maybe Thurman but whatever. If true it just sounds like very opportunistic matchmaking, which is par for the course these days but it would be a shame because there are plenty of good match-ups for him in and around 140lbs.
He's never fighting at 135lbs again though.
He shouldn't, not after establishing himself at 140 and probably putting on a few pounds. but that Tank money...
