The Gypsy King won clearly in an albeit disappointing showing. Now the army of haters claim Boxing is ruined as we've always known it... | BoxingScene Community
Why are there so many overly-emotional men involved in Boxing these days?
Francis Ngannou was greatly underrated by 99.9%, including Team Fury. On that showing, Ngannou would give anyone a tough fight. Showed better movement and timing, and better defence, than both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. Ngannou's style also makes him dangerous in any fight, with concussive power and unafraid to trade shots, with a very unorthodox technique and a solid chin. We won't know how good he really is until he's had another few fights.
Now.
Fury won 8 rounds clearly, easily outboxed Ngannou and gritted out the victory. You give Ngannou the 3rd due to the knockdown, and the 8th when he really opened up and had TGK looking uncomfortable and buzzed off one or two shots. Was clear that Tyson was out of shape and could not hurt Ngannou. You see someone like Floyd or Ray Robinson winning rounds in the same manner, and they are lauded. The amount of idiots crying robbery and claiming Boxing has been ruined... Embarrassing.
Did AJ ruin boxing when he underestimated the little fat Mexican? Did Wilder ruin boxing when he failed to KO Charlie Zelenoff?
In boxing, as in life, you have to take the rough with the smooth. Fury had a bad night, gritted out the win, made over £100m, and he rolls on to the next challenge. Still #1. Still undefeated. Still the Lineal champion. Still the A-side in any Undisputed contest. Still the face of Heavyweight boxing.
The amount of Haters who seized on a poor night at the office to absolutely lambast Fury, cry robbery (ridiculous), and claim that boxing has been ruined... get a grip. Is your life really that uneventful?
We won't know how good Ngannou really is until he faces another active Heavyweight. From what I saw, I'd say he gives anyone problems. Fury is very elusive, but if Ngannou could land flush on a more static target, he would do serious damage. Ngannou gave a great account of himself, and it is disrespectful to him to say Fury just had a bad night. Fury did have a bad night, but Ngannou was still very impressive.
Ngannou brings an interesting dynamic to the division, and I'd love to see him in there with another big name. AJ and Wilder the obvious ones. I would not bet against Ngannou versus either of those two, based off his showing against Fury.
As a fan, this was an enthralling contest.
I have yet to see a scorecard from any of the people claiming Fury won clearly. Curious if and how people actually scored it, and if they count damage done as a scoring criteria, or just ineffective jabs.
Fury 8-2, -1 KD. Fury won 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. Ngannou won the 3rd and then the 8th, the only round he stepped on the gas. Every other round he was hitting air while TGK boxed rings around him. The damage to the eye was caused in an MMA-like clinch in the 2nd and worsened in similar clinches in the 4th and 5th.
I'd be interested to see a proper breakdown on how Ngannou won. :lol1:

Isn't Ngannou on roids ?
{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","data-attachmentid":32060416}
All elite athletes are on roids. And looking a the photo is pointless, even the fat guys are on roids. Fury tested positive for roids and hes been fat his entire life. James toney too.
Fury looked like trash and should never let a cage fighter in their first boxing match EVER, pro or amateur, allow the fight to be so close that thousands of casuals out there believe he lost. It should have been a domination with it going the distance only if fury allowed it too, it should be so much of a domination that even casuals all realize he won. Not oh he landed some jabs late so if you look at the cards he won despite being dropped and embarrassed.
No one will remember it. Ngannou lost. It won't be remembered. The hype will die down about Ngannou winning when he did not win.
It will be remembered every time Fury gets brought up (and he was supposed to be the face of this HW era and probably a top 3 star in the sport), will be ammo in every boxing vs MMA argument, and will probably get mentioned in boxing and general sports circles at times when people talk about great sporting upsets etc. I cant see it blowing over all that easily. Furys legacy is fucked and by extension the legacy of this whole HW era since he was supposed to be the face of it.
What happened to giving Fury his props after he ethered ya boy Wilder?
Fury won two fights vs Wilder, well done. But he was battered over the trilogy, and there is evidence the damage Wilder inflicted on Fury has had some sort of chronic effect upon Fury 'Ether in terms of his attitude to the game, or some other trauma based element' Which is no disrespect to Fury, but since the Wilder vs Fury Trilogy, it looks like Fury in part wants out of the game on some level.
Wilder was not the fighter being decked and busted up real good by a novice fighter on the weekend mate 'Tyson Fury was' etc.
Boxing as a whole isnt ruined. I'd say this HW era is though. Nobody is going to discuss the Fury/AJ/Wilder/Usyk era in future decades without that Ngannou fight very quickly being brought up, and it'll make everything else seem kind of redundant.
They'll speak of Usyk if he beats Fury. Former undisputed CW champ becoming undisputed HW champ is something that hadn't been done since Holyfield. The rest of the them you mentioned, yeah, they won't imo
How many days are we going to make excuses for Fury squeezing an SD out of a debuting salt miner?
doesn’t matter if Fury won or not, he dodged Usyk for this BS fight, and it was close. Way closer than it should have been.
Fury looks like **** and rightfully so.
Art Binkowski.
Tyson Fury is a great fighter of this era, but he is not on course as of right now 'To go down as a all-time great Heavyweight Champion'.
Tyson Fury has just been decked, and busted up real good 'By a fighter in Francis Ngannou, who was fighting in his first ever professional boxing match. If Ngannou would of been given the decision, there would of been no complaints world wide. But Fury was given the decision, in a close fight'.
If Fury was as great as his hardcore fans claim him to be, he should if ether played around with Ngannou or taken him out. We have watched genuine all-time great fighters do this when they were under par against lesser professional boxers, Fury does not seem to have that ability.
Fury is ether winning, or being battered 'Tyson Fury has barely fought at World level throughout the majority of his career outside of Kiltschko and Wilder. And lets all be honest, Fury was battered vs Wilder. The trilogy was great in terms of passion and competition, but there is definitive evidence that Wilder has chronically effected Fury 'Since that trilogy Fury for me, has wanted out of the game'.
But you are right, Fury did come through the fight just about 'And now he has to move on. But which ever way Fury turns now, he will be ether running into Uysk, Joshua, Wilder IIII, Ngannou II or all of the other top Heavyweight Fighters. Fury can no longer sit back, and dismiss the entire division like he has been doing, and being given credit for fights he has not fought in' etc.

Far from crying pal, I enjoyed the show. Watched Fury get his hand raised in a surprisingly competitive fight. As I previously stated, 99.9% of people gave Ngannou no chance. I got caught up in it myself, expecting to see Fury go through the motions in a circus show. Ngannou gave a great account of himself and he must now be wondering what if he'd put his foot on the gas more?
The same people who gave Ngannou zero chance are now saying it was a robbery, while still giving Ngannou zero credit. Odds on an Ngannou win: 9/1. Odds on a Ruiz win: 30/1. Says it all really. Ya boy AJ got had off good and proper. Ruined!
Fury got off lucky after taking his man lightly. Still on course to go down as an ATG, still got opportunities to further cement his legacy before retiring.
In this thread I was pointing out the crazy antics of the sycophants, crying before the fight that it was a mismatch, crying after the fight that it was a robbery.
And now according to the haters I am the emotional one! The irony!

Can't argue with that appraisal. Still would be very interested to see Ngannou in with another name fighter. Doesn't have to be a top dog, but I'd be interested to see how he performed. Be a big payday now too for anyone outside of the top 3-4.
I think he could beat AJ and maybe that's it. Wilder would be fun to watch but I think he would win.
Ruiz and Usyk would also be interesting.
Mma fans have been claiming that boxing is dying ever since Joe rogan and Lou dibella had that debate in 2007. The fact is I am still waiting for boxing to 'die' it aint..
however this weekend was definitely not a good look for us. Fury should have destroyed ngannou and anything less than a KO looks bad on boxing. Fury didn't take the fight serious, end of.
He showed up weighing 277? Which in comparison to his first fight with Wilder, 257 suggests that he really didnt take this serious and Francis took advantage of it.
ALSO adding to the equation that MMA fans cannot score a 10 round fight. A 10-8 round is more impactful in MMA with 5,3 rounds than in boxing and MMA fans cannot grasp this. Idk how many people on social media have suggest that Francis was robbed and than I ask a simple question, what rounds did you score for Francis, and they mysteriously have no answer. Because they can't answer it.
MMA fans cannot score a 10 round fight.
Fury didn't show up.
Francia did great, did what he was supposed to do but this in no way suggests he can compete in the HW division in boxing. If he does try to compete, all other HW boxers will know to take him serious and they will give him a boxing lesson.
Can't argue with that appraisal. Still would be very interested to see Ngannou in with another name fighter. Doesn't have to be a top dog, but I'd be interested to see how he performed. Be a big payday now too for anyone outside of the top 3-4.
OP is deep in middle age and revealed in this thread how in love with Fury he is. You can't help emotional men who worship other humans as secular gods. You can only hope they grow out of it (possibly too late for OP) or come to their senses by themselves. An epiphany, if you will.
Wtf? You are a weirdo Dan. Seen the thread where you got exposed for being in your 60s. Why do you keep throwing accusations about people's age around when you're one of the oldest people here? I'm less than half your age you weird old man.
Actually AJ was mentioned in my post because you brought him up, just pointing out the irony considering you’re crying about people being big bad meanies to Fury while using an example that was hated on far far worse.
For example you’re referring to Ruiz as the fat Mexican while trying to hype a zero fight novice as some elite win.
Are you honestly telling me if AJ (since he seems to be the one brought up most since the fight) struggled to a points win while being dropped, face all busted up against an MMA fighter making his debut people like you wouldn’t be falling over laughing ?
There would be dozens of threads with 100+ comments mocking the fight, I know it, you know it.
Jake Paul has been making a decent living beating up MMA guys so cut the ****.
Fury is not one of the most hated fighters of his generation, put the victim card away poppet, up until blatantly mucking Usyk about he was given every benefit of every doubt, even now peeps like you are defending a blatant embarrassment.
PS - if you want to see a clear robbery go watch Fury vs McDermott he ate so many right hands it’s probably why he’s such a fat ****.

Boxing is not ruined, once again? Hardcore Fury fans need to stop grouping in Tyson Fury's actions with the entire sport.
Tyson Fury's resume, and boxing abilities are what took a hit on the weekend 'For all we know, there are British and European Heavyweight Champions out there they may beat Francis Ngannou'.
Tyson Fury has barely fought at World level outside of Kiltschko and Wilder, and I believe at some point? That sort of behavior as a fighter and Champion will show up inside the ring 'That is what potentially happened on the weekend'.
Note: But Francis Ngannou whether people like to deny it or not, has just entered into the game 'The fact of the matter is, Ngannou decked and busted up Tyson Fury real good. Ngannou pushed the so called rated number 1 Heavyweight to a close fight. It is a fight and performance which cannot be 100% dismissed and overlooked etc.
