Both sides seem to have been fairly clear that the fight is signed for December 23rd.
But if Fury says he's not ready, what is Usyk going to do? He either renegotiates the date... or he terminates the contract for Fury's breach and moves on.
I'm sure Usyk right now is wondering whether this guy is always going to have another reason to renegotiate. What if they set another date and Fury claims he's injured, or has COVID, or something else? You can't tell me it won't happen because it always happens with Fury.
I wouldn't blame Usyk for moving on. It's always something with Fury. And how long should Usyk allow Fury's decisions to dictate his career? But then where does he go?
If a fighter signs a contract to fight on a certain date he is liable to be sued if he breaches that contract. Which, ironically, is what Fury threatened to do to Usyk if Usyk wasn't ready!
Usyk and his promoter are taking the same hard line approach themselves - in front of the media. but I believe that, as long as they know the fight has to happen before the end of Riyadh Season in order for Fury to get his monster money bag, they will be patient and allow him a little more time.
They said that both men had signed a contract to fight on Dec 23rd and they were going to make sure Fury stuck to it, whatever happened in his fight with Ngannou.

I mean, he never confirmed the date before the Fury-Ngannou fight and said he would like to have it different (not that some confirmed date stopped Usyk from sneaking out a fight, as he did in April). But now Fury has to go on December 23rd because he was shouting about it, that is what I think. I don't think he was that hurt, he just realized he can't neglect things as he did for the last year and something. If he doesn't, his stocks are 100% down.
Usyk and his promoter were interviewed as soon as they arrived in Riyadh and they both confirmed that Usyk would definitely be ready to fight on December 23rd and that reports saying anything else were based on a misunderstanding of something Usyk said in an interview in Ukraine.

How could you have missed that?
Usyk never said that. He was misquoted by somebody and both he and his promoter said they were ready to go on December 23rd before Fury vs Ngannou had happened.

Oh, the same Usyk who kept silent until yesterday and never mentioned anything about being signed for the 23rd. He even said that this is not the date he would like, but now started singing a different song!

This is the ideal scenario, but at this point, I don't even see Fury getting in there.
Me neither.
Just vacate and retire.
Then get a MMA guy stupid enough to face Inoue and end up on life support
Second ideal scenario..
No matter if you're a fan of Usyk or not (he's not my favorite fighter) but especially after last night, for the sake of boxing, the sooner Usyk relieves Fury of his belt the better...
If Usyk thoroughly outclasses Fury, the embarrassment of the fight against Ngannou will mostly remembered as an embarrassment for Fury, not for boxing

Both of them looking like huge hypocrites. It is what it is though and I would rather see the fight when both are fully ready for it.
I agree and say the same. But the people are so overwhelmed by the nobless of the white knight of Ukraine which is as fake (and regularly cheating with the low blows), as he plays it pure as a morning dew.
